Morning, all. So I have been wanting a new desk chair for a long while now, and after looking at so-called "Gaming Chairs" (most of which were an average of 4 to 600 dollars, some as much as 1000) I stumbled upon a mid-backed Office Chair from Tempur Pedic (and I have a bed from that company which is the most comfortable, most supportive bed that I have ever owned in my life. Expensive, at several thousand dollars even for a Double....But so extremely worth it. Every cent). So I saw this chair for less than 300 (before tax) and so I jumped all over it. My parents said they would buy it for me as a Christmas gift. Christmas Eve Day, I just finished putting it together and, just like my bed it is the most comfortable chair I have ever sat on. The same proprietary "Memory Foam" that Tempur Pedic uses in their top-line mattresses, they have used in this chair-- only it is made exclusively for the purpose of a chair. It is firm, but extremely supportive and comfortable. Plus a nice feature is that it came with a mesh back rather than fabric, so it is still very supportive but also breathable. If anyone is looking at replacing their current chair.....My advice, before you spend many hundreds or a thousand dollars on a Gaming CHair (such as GT Racing or Secret Labs ) consider the mid-back Office Chairs from TempurPedic. My parents purchased mine from Costco, but it is also available at STAPLES for around 400 dollars CAD, which is still a fraction of popular Gaming Chairs. www.staples.com/Tempur-Pedic-TP9000-Polyester-Computer-and-Desk-Office-Chair-Black-TP9000-BLK/product_324021A huge bonus is that it was relatively simple to put together, and it is very well constructed.

I love my tempur bed too Good to see you're loving the chair too After sitting in it for about three solid hours on Christmas Eve morning, I have noticed that the spot where my butt actually meets the seat is extremely comfy as is the mesh seat back....But even at only an average height of 5'11"...I have long legs...and I noticed that the front edge of the seat meets the middle of my hamstring and the backs of my thighs about 5 inches above the back of my knees, and digs into my legs. Sort of cutting into my legs in an awkward spot making my legs cramp up and go numb, which is actually painful. Now, that being said-- I do have the seat back as close to the seat cushion as it can possibly go. I know that it is adjustable and that it can be moved back and forth, in/out to give more depth to the seat....so considering the length of my legs, I think I am going to have to make some minor adjustments to the depth of the seat back to try and get rid of that numbing sensation so it fits my legs better, because right now as it stands (or sits) I can barely tolerate 5 minutes in it. Other than that, the chair itself such as it is is actually very comfy as I have said....And my bed is unbelievable. I wished I had discovered TempurPedic 10 years ago, as it was the bed I had was probably 15 years old. One of those "Pillow Top" mattresses....Comfy for about 10 minutes then it was harder than rock and it vally-ed like crazy. I was always sleeping on the mountain. Not my TempurPedic though. This contours my body and does an amazing job of distributing my weight so I don't get any pressure points...But then when I get off it *pfffffffffttt* like magic I can actually see it rise up and in less than a minute it is like I never even lay on it. And even my pillow is the same technology. I used to use water pillows, and they were great for a while....But then I noticed I was getting migraines, even waking up with pinched nerves in my neck and shoulders. So I made the switch to a TempurPedic pillow, and I'll never use anything else.

I also use Tempur-Pedic beds, but all my office chairs are Herman Miller's Aeron. I've been using them for years at work and home. I like them because they are comfy and durable. My back and my delicate butt also stay cool and dry. However, they are kind of expensive, so let your company pay for them instead. Another thing that I can recommend is investing in a good footrest. It makes a big difference.
