saw the season openener and so it seems there is 2 things why I still watch that soap/drama opera with some althistory/sciece/space throw in... - What happened with Margo, why isn't she leading (in secret) the sovjet program, did she get those injuries during the what's now called "Molly Comb Space Center" attack?
- Where will the series go, how far into the future / how SciFi-ish?
- Just don't care anymore about terrible fake hair/beard Ed, neither Danielle encore nor the PTSD Aleida story or the Oiler/Miner one they started to introduce.
- RIP Molly Comb (most fun character) and my 2nd favorte Grigory Kuznetsov (Lev Gorn)
Ditto on a few of those. It's far from my favourite show but it's got a few good points.
I'm curious how sci-fi it'll get too. RIP Molly, she was awesome. I agree, her quips and attitude were the best.
Despite not particularly liking the drama around Danny Stevens I am still curious what happened to him out there on Mars after getting exiled. He himself I couldn't stand last season. Wasn't too enthused by his brother's arc either but the bombing kinda lent it some gravitas after the fact. I was surprised it took out Karen, they really seemed to be teeing her up as "CEO" for the next (now current) season.
Don't really care about Aleida but I haven't much before. PTSD Aleida does little for me interest-wise as well.
On the fence with Ed's story, I don't mind him. His age is, quite... egregiously fake though. I liked the idea of a long friendship between him and Grigory. (RIP Grigory too.) Not sure what to make of oil guy. The actor starred in one of my favourite old Black Mirror episodes so he kinda gets a chance.
I'm less interested in Margo than I am her alternate, but still a bit curious. I'm wondering if they'll keep the transposition going throughout the season. Her in Russia and the former Russian head of their space program (can't remember his name) now living in some rural area USA. I liked him. Curious to see his perspective a bit more.
I am curious where they're going this whole season. We're not at a parallel anymore, they're writing fiction. Also gotta kick out of the North Korean guy near the end of last season. Wonder if that gets any screen-time.

Spoilers for Ep2 Aleida and Kelly teaming up in the bar and on space/science work = Yay
Margo hasn't reached rock bottom yet, despite the fall and broken glasses. My guess she'll be carted off into a prison camp of sorts, before she gets a chance of a rescue by that bird feeding lady.
Camera work showing "lower decker" and Danielle in split screen until meeting up was fun. Still don't care about the Miner character nor about "get of my lawn planet" Ed.
I much more liked this episode overall - Sovjet Union unrest, same happening on Mars.

Really "meh" this season so far. The stories are small and mostly related to rather boring (drummed up) interpersonal drama. I mean, it's a drama which necessitates interpersonal stuff, but most of these arcs are hardly inspiring. They're... kinda sad. That said, there are a couple arcs that are interesting. Spoilers up to 4e5 I kinda liked Ed's little Russian romance partner there, she seemed interesting. But Ed himself, meh meh meh. Crotchety old man. We get it. I did get a kick out of Danielle's delivery of, "FUCK YOOOOOOOU!" to Ed at the end there. That was some good shit. And him digging at her where it hurts was also good. That bit of drama has been rattling 'round for seasons now, so it felt proper. *** The miner-cum-smuggler's wife apparently married well since she's such a gold digger... Really don't care much about this angle. The wife in particular. Good lord. I like his female compatriot up there though, the dark haired one that's been flirty with him. She's attractive and seems to have a solid head on her shoulders, while still being empathetic. Would've rather spent the time watching her arc instead of his... *** Ahh, and predictably Danny committed suicide. Given the way they were treating it I thought there'd been a murder or something more. 'Tragic accident' kinda schtuff. Suicide under those circumstances would be pretty... unsurprising. Tad anticlimactic. Now here's some food for thought after the fact. Danielle only had one meal left to give him, and from her talk and her ripping her name off the meals, that was presumably it, then they were out of rations. So, they're out of rations. How did they survive then? The dire implication there is that, they ate him. So suicide might be a bit anticlimactic, but if that turns out to be true. Oof, quite something. That's rough. *** Kelly's "oh god I have a kid" really didn't sell much for me. Not sure what Aleida was doing, spinning in place a bit I guess? Worrying about her new position. That seems both familiar and redundant. She's done that arc before. Moooooooooooove ooooooooon. *** Margo and the Evil Russian Lady. Finally a bit more of an interesting arc. The russian head of roscosmos seems quite capable. Wonder if that's actually leading anywhere or not. Margo being her "pet" is kind of an intriguing angle to Margo's story. I'm a bit sad they didn't keep up with her friend the former head of Roscosmos. I liked seeing him in the USA. Was hoping to see his integration, maybe an arc wherein he and Margo are still in communication or something. Dunno. I liked him, and I liked his acting. *** Oh, the current head of NASA, he's alright. I like him so far, even if I can't get Home Alone out of my head every bloody time I see him.

spoilers for epsiode 5 "Leningrad" Great episode on multiple fronts.
M7 conference and the (earlier than I expected) Margo is alive/reveal to Aleida and the world. Wonderful acting and as mentioned, emotional rollercoaster. LOVED Aleida giving her a tearful long hug first - did not expect that. Hate me if you want, but work the problem with me = BRAVO So awesome!
Ed and Dani Ed, softening up, smoking weed, drinking moon mars-shine Whether he helps kickstart the union out of spite vs Dani or because there actually discovered some more humanity inside of him TBD. With his sole family on it's way (Kelly and his space-born-grandson) there might* be somewhat of a happy end for him. When Dani spoke these works - I said to my SO, can you see the end of life countdown clock that has just started by the writers.
Asteroid redirect mission As other have stated however, I think something will go wrong with the redirect mission - that's the writers room's exit strategy for Ed and Dani. Kelly will be safe tough, as the arc of discovering alien life hasn't happened yet (and she's young/middle aged character in the show)
Quark's Ilya's bar, unionizing, criminal takeover Really feel for Ilya loosing "his" bar. Union leading lady to be - hopefully not only survives the unionization of Helios workers and the likely asteroid redirect mission fallout - but also doesn't get involved or harmed by (from greedy dumbass to two faced crime boss wannabe) miner's actions and certain cascading fallout.

My finale predictions Ilya will somehow save Miles from the CIA and KGB fellas, then they help the North Korean 1st human on Mars guy with his passed out? boss - which in turn helps guaranteeing the succsess of "Ed/Dev steal an asteroid"-crew.
Margo will bite the dust too, because after learning from Sergejis "suicide" and adding up 1 and 2, she now has lost nearly everything, I'd wager will be linked to sabotage Sovjet Union/NASA so Ed and Dev's "greater purpose mars and space exploration mission" will continue. OR Aleida will help Margo escape to Brazil.
Dani will bite the dust - strike 2 after the teary video call for sure.
NASA/Home Alone guy will have a heart attack when the asteroid mission goes "wrong".
Kelly will discover life on Mars in the finale.

Season 4 Finale thougts and beyondSuprising conclussions (Dani lives, so does Ed and Sam and Miles...) So happy for North Korean Astronaut to be reunited with his partner. That Aleida hug to Margo, Margo's talk about role reversal vs her and Von Braun and her and Aleida. Was right on OG blackmarket barkeeper helping to save Miles and Aleida/Margo teaming up to save "space exploration". But i was wrong too: for example Home Alone NASA guy is still alive. Fun season overall - really enjoyed it for the most part. just ignore the (less and more) obvious speed plot holes (Margo center stage with all eyes on her, Aleida at the console - and Margo saying "it was me" and similiar whatever) - it's science "fiction" and and alternate reality to moon/mars boot Wishlist for Season 5 - I'd love another season or two or three.
- Would be awesome if the look from Mars outwards - leaving Earth behind mostly or completely - story and characterwise.
- But I'd love to see more Will Tyler (so back into space? or NASA leader) and Aleida (Helios leader or go to Mars with the family to work and live from there)
- Ed, Dani to be written out "peacefully" - no drama.
- more Kelly Baldwin
- Dev continue to play 4D chess, thinking in leaps rather that steps
- Kelly and Co to disover extra terrestrial life on Mars (or elsewhere)

I was kinda hoping we'd get a cliffhanger where the burn went wrong and it was headed for an Earth/Moon impact. Next season would then be cutting through the red tape to save the planet. Working together, for all mankind. But realistically, it had to end up in Mars orbit for the stories to align. I think Kelly finding life will be the end of next season. Maybe not the very end of the season but a driving part of it. The show has a planned 7 season arc, IIRC. Whether they get the greenlight or not I dunno, but I imagine they'll definitely get next season if not already. Was a tad surprised...
