JDee3 posted a thread on BSN asking that question. Post what you believe happened to the crew/squadmates after the ending of ME3
femshep - After recovering from her wounds she settles down with Samantha in their large house and becomes a stay-at-home mother. To this day she is still mad that she can't beat Samantha at chess.
Samantha - While femshep was recovering in the hospital, Traynor builds her company, Checkmate Industries, using the destroyed reapers by melting them down and then using them to help the Alliance rebuild their fleets. Currently she has over 26,000 employees and the company averages over 3 trillion credits/year of revenue. Every January 1st, she donates 1 billion credits to 100 cities to help with rebuilding.
Kaidan - Died on Virnire protecting the bomb. When femshep and Samantha were in Vancouver for drinks, they paid their respects at his grave. A short time later, a statue was built in his honor.
Zaeed - Within a year after the war, Zaeed died of a heart attack. Femshep was sad. She and Zaeed were very good friends. In his honor, a statue was built for him and a park named after him. RIP Robin Sachs
Steve - After the war, Samantha made him VP of Checkmate Industries. With some of his ideas, he designed new modes of transportation that have benefited the company. He is married and has 2 adopted boys.
Ken and Gabby - Both hired by Samantha to work at her company. They're currently married with 3 children
Liara - After the war, she handed all Shadow Broker operations to Barla Von. She went back to Illium to her apartment and ripped up her diploma realizing everything she learned about the Protheans and what she thought was wrong. To this day she goes to the unemployment commission to pickup her weekly check. No one wants to hire her. Javik - He goes to Thessia to tell the asari about their history. He's eventually made a God. He orders all statues and anything else representing Athame, be removed or destroyed. The asari build statues of Javik. The phrases "embrace eternity" and "by the goddess" were changed to "embrace Javik" and "by the prothean". He had all government officials executed for failing to reveal the artifact earlier that could've ended the war sooner. Later he renames Thessia to Prothia
Hackett - Was found brutually murdered in his apartment. When asked, one of the investigator's said it was the most gruesome sight he's seen. Nothing was missing from the apartment except his dogtags. Rumors has it that the families of the deceased from the SR1 killed him in revenge for not having the Alliance investigate the loss of the ship and the death of their loved ones. Another rumor has it that Commander Shepard played a role in his death. The case is still open with very few leads.
Jacob - Brynn Cole came home and found Jacob with another woman. The woman quickly left and Brynn, filled with anger, tied up Jacob and castrated him leaving him to bleed to death. Her whereabouts are unknown.
Joker - After spending 6 months mourning the loss of his sister and father, Joker went and talked with femshep. He admitted it was silly and childish for him to want to have feelings for a robot. He was hired as the lead test pilot at Checkmate Industries. He is now married with 2 small children
James and Ashley - For the next few years both served with the Alliance in helping with the rebuilding. After they left, they opened up their own security company providing security for various companies in the area as well as for Checkmate Industries. Both are married with 2 children.
Garrus - Went back to Palaven to help rebuild and to reunite with his father and sister. He is currently training new recruits in the military.
Tali - After the Geth were destroyed on Rannoch, Tali decided to stay and help her people.
Dr Chakwas, Greg Adams and Kelly Chambers aka Felicia Hannigan - All three helped with the sick and injured on the Citadel after the war
Grunt - Stayed on Tuchanka to rebuild Aralakh Company
Miranda - She, along with her sister, Oriana, went back to Chronos to repair the station where she helps humanity. Miranda and femshep remain very good friends. Rupert Gardner - Opened his own restaurant on Earth. His main dish, Calamari Gumbo, became so popular he opened more restaurants around the world. Today he's very wealthy with his success and looks forward to what the future will bring him.
Samara - Along with her daughter, Falere, helped Thessia rebuild. Samara found a nice quiet place to live out the rest of her life.
Thane - He died on the Citadel stopping an assassin. On Sur'Kesh, with Koylat present, the Salarians unveiled a statue of Thane in his honor for protecting their councillor.
Mordin - With advice from femshep, he decided not to cure the genophage for the Krogan. He disappeared never to be seen again. Its possible he's studying seashells.
Kasumi - Her whereabouts are unknown, but on occasion has met with femshep for lunch in an undisclosed location.
space Hamster - Died a short time after the war. Femshep was in tears for days. Millions of people showed up at his funeral to pay their respects. She now has a family of space hamsters.
Normandy - Samantha took the ship, had it repainted black and white with Checkmate Industries on both sides and the Queen chess piece painted on both tail wings
Jack - After seeing two of her students killed, Jack gets their names tattooed on her body in their honor. She is now back at Grissom helping Kathlee.
Conrad Verner - It was Conrad that pulled femshep from the rubble. He became a hero to her and the world. He wrote two books. What's It like Being Shepard's #1 Fan and How I Rescued Commander Shepard. He made millions from the books. At times femshep would join him for book signings. He's currently married to Jenna who's expecting their 3rd child.
Commander Bailey - After the war, he left C-Sec to find his family. After a few months of searching, he found his children, but their mother was dead. He bought a farm far away from the big city.
Khalisah al jilani - She was granted the first interview with Commander Shepard after the war. It was the most watched interview in history. It made her famous.

Shepard: Dead.
Kaidan: Continues to serve the Council as a Spectre. His job is to restore order to Galaxy after the war. Not an easy task but it keeps him busy and focused. Later in life starts to suffer from worsening migraines, but refuses to retire. Probably finds some nice girl to start a family with.
James Vega: Vega completes his N7 training and works with Kaidan for many years. Applies to become a Spectre but doesn't get chosen for the program. Couple of years later quits the army. Often gives interviews about Shepard and enjoys the publicity his connection to the late commander gets him, from the VIP access to restaurants and clubs to invitations to official events and parties.
Garrus: First tries to help the efforts to rebuild Palaven, but eventually gets tired of politics and military. Disappears from public eye. Few years later some rumors from Omega suggest that Archangel is back in business hunting outlaws in the Terminus Systems.
Joker: Got seriously injured in the jungle planet before he and others were rescued. Had to stay in a hospital for a couple of weeks. When he gets out he finds out that Normandy's remains have been confiscated by authorities. Bitter Joker contemplates retiring early but is instead hired by Archangel.
Liara: Gets obsessed with the idea of bringing Shepard back to life for a second time, despite everyone saying it's impossible as there is no body and it is not what Shepard would have wanted. Continues her work as a Shadow Broker until she is deposed. Becomes reclusive and cuts ties with Shepard's friends.
Tali: Starts a new life in Rannoch. Works tirelessly to help the Quarian Goverment maintain good relationship with the Geth, despite anti-synthetic segment rising in the Galaxy in the wake of the Reaper War. Some Quarians still resent the alliance with the Geth and tensions remain. Political atmosphere in Rannoch is dangerously unstable and as larger areas of Rannoch are repopulated division between different factions grows, eventually breaking out in fights between 'synthetic sympathizers' and 'warmongers.' Tali is the target of many slander campaigns of the latter for her outspoken support of the Geth. Rannoch's future is uncertain and it is likely that the peace between organics and the Geth will not last, despite Tali's best efforts. For now she has a home, but her joy is dampened by her worry for the future. Luckily she has her friends to support her: Garrus and Joker who offer her a place at Archangels ship, should she ever grow tired of politics. After her death, many years later, the position of those who oppose the alliance with the Geth grows stronger. She was a great voice of reason and worked tirelessly til the end to maintain the peace.
Grunt: After Wrex's death Clan Urdnot falls to infighting that greatly weakens the clan and gives the other clans incentive to move in and try to grab power, resulting in another krogan civil war. Grunts friendship with Shepard marks him as a black sheep among the krogan and he is eventually forced to leave Clan Urdnot. Some krogans, tired of fighting and watching their homeworld being destroyed, follow Grunt. Over the years he becomes known as a controversial and brutal leader, who believes in the survival of the fittest and sees those krogan who blame the genophage for everything as weaklings clinging to the old ways when they should be trying to restore the krogan and their homeland to their might. He shows no mercy to those who oppose him and his brutal strength gains him many followers. His clan claims some former Clan Urdnot lands for their own. He is outspoken in his belief that krogans should look forward and work together with aliens, learn from them to better themselves. This gains him many enemies, as all krogan remember how they were betrayed in the war.
Jack: Doesn't take long for Jack to realize that she has been deluding herself: playing a schoolteacher and collecting money to a swearbox just isn't for her. She soon returns to her old life style of piracy, robbery, kidnapping, arson, vandalism and various other criminal activities. She is also dedicated to hunting down and killing any remaining Cerberus officers she can find. Within two years her infamous reputation earns someone to place a large sum of credits for her head. For a while she's able to escape their assassins, mercs and agents, but eventually there is no where left to run. She is ambushed and captured and is later confirmed to be dead by Archangel (either killed by her captors or having taken her own life rather than be held a prisoner again).
Jacob: Marries Brynn and she gives birth to a healthy baby boy, named after Shepard. Jacob tries to be a good man and take care of his family, but ends up cheating Brynn with multiple women until she finally divorces him. Guilty Jacob promises to take of her and their son, paying expensive child support payments and making sure his son gets the best chances of life: best education possible, etc. He gets married two more times and has four more children. 'Shepard' Taylor grows up to be a doctor, living and working in London, not seeing his father and half-siblings often, but still keeping in touch with both of his parents. Jacob is proud of his oldest son and lives old enough to have many grandchildren.

This may go on a bit (plus, I've probably wished a happy ending on everyone and it gets a bit sappy, I've really only ventured a few years into the future so crap could break out again...)
Scott Shepard: Wakes up in pile of rubble in London, bleeding to death until his demise is interrupted by Jack and Eezo. He has no idea how he got there or much idea of what happened to him after he staggered to the beam. His lasyt clear memory is putting Ashley and Garrus on a shuttle. Jack has been working with rescue teams, moving rubble with her biotics and teaching Eezo to look for survivors in the hope fo finding Shep. (Note: Scott and Jack are friends, they both think the other one is crazy and needs their help. Jack finds Scott's altruism and concern for others hysterically funny. Scott finds Jack wierdly endearing. They're like big brother and little sister.) Shepard is rushed to hospital but falls into a coma after surgery. He wakes up, some time later to find his mother, Hannah by his bedside.
Meanwhile the Normandy has been patched up with help from Tali and has limped back to Earth. the crew all think Shepard is dead. They crew discovers from Hackett that he's not. Hurrah!
Fast forward a couple of years:
Scott Shepard: the first thing he does when he's remotely mobile again is to start shouting at people and getting them to play nicely together. In recognition for this, and for saving the galaxy, he gets promoted to Colonel, is encouraged to rebuild the Spectres, since many were lost in the war, and Hackett says he can date a certain fellow Alliance officer. Shepard is instrumental in not only rebuilding the Spectres as a more accountable and less shady institution and recruiting new Spectres from across Council space, but also in supporting the New Citadel Council. His role as Lead Spectre gets him a seat on the New Council, and in the further future he is elected to represent Earth it'self. He marries Ashley Williams and they have three children together, Kaidan Thane Shepard, Miranda Lynne Shepard and David Mordin Shepard.
Garrus Vakarian: returns to Palaven for a time to help rebuild. He refuses a seat in the Hierarchy and instead joins the Spectres.
Ashley Williams: Ash is initially keen on resigning her Spectre status, feeling uncertain of her suitability for the role after the Udina coup. Scott Shepard talks her into staying, at least for a while. After her son Kaidan's birth she withdraws from active duty, instead becoming a liaison officer, a link between the Alliance, the Spectres and the Council.
Dr Liara T'Soni: Remains as the Shadow Broker, but a Shadow Broker with strong links to the Council and the Spectres, making her a few enemies with those who preferred the Broker to remain beyond the law and the establishment. In her spare time she still likes digging up Prothean relics and publishes papers on Prothean history.
Urdnot Wrex: Drags Tuchanka into a renaissance, whether it likes it or not.
Urdnot Bakara: Shepard convinces that Council to take on new members from all the races who helped defeat the Reapers. Urdnot Bakara is chosen as the first Council Representative for the Krogan. She and Wrex have several children, their daughter, Urdnot Mordin, is a year or so older than Kaidan Shepard and his best friend.
Urdnot Grunt: First Krogan Spectre. Many years into the future he may take over from Wrex as leader of the krogan.
Samara and Falare: Scott manages to persuade Samara to at least take a sabbatical as a Spectre, while they train up some asari recruits. Samara can't leave Falare alone so she comes along and Falare becomes a Spectre (i kind of imagine her as being Moneypenny to Shep's M). Falare and Grunt have some kind of romantic relationship.
Kasumi Goto: Works for the Shadow Broker when not pursuing her own projects.
Kolyat Krios: Drell spectre
Tali'zorah Vas Normandy: Tali helps build FTL drives that can partially make up for the lack of Mass Relays, then she researches Mass Relays in the hope of fixing them. She builds her house on Rannoch, calling in "Normandy" so she keeps the name. She also marries (Veetor or Reegar, depending on how hard I want to Headcannon) and is chosen as Quarian Councillor.
James Vega: Completes N7 training and is ultimately accepted as a Spectre, becoming the human field officer. He also dates Dr Ann Bryson.
Steve Cortez: Settles down and opens a bar/restaurant on the Citadel with his new partner.
Jeff "Joker" Moreau: The Normandy gets handed over to the Spectres and he still insists in flying Shepard and co round the galaxy. Later becomes a flight instructor.
Samantha Traynor: Splits her time between working for the Shadow Broker and leading research and development for the repairs to the Mass Relays. Writes her doctorate thesis on quantum entanglement and it's use in the mass relay system.
Jack (and Kahlee Sanders): Jack and Kahlee restart the Grissom Academy. Jack is known to moonlight for Spectre, but only if Shepard asks really nicely and she gets to work with Grunt. Jack remains insanely popular with the students.
Jacob and Brynn Taylor: Brynn is also part of the team who try to fix up the mass relay network. Jacob is a stay at home house husband for the most part, but has been known to do work for the Shadow Broker.
Oriana Lawson, Kelly Chambers and Sarah Williams (note: I've killed off Lynn Williams and have an open mind about Abby, Sarah's safe though). Oriana meets Kelly and they decide to set up a charity (Ori has been left a load of money and assets by Miranda, alas Miranda's dead.)to help people left homeless by the Reaper attacks on the Citadel. Sarah Williams volunteers. Oriana eventually becomes Human Councillor (some races have more than one rep, the asari, turians and salarians have 3 or 4, the humans have at least 2. To start with the krogan, quarians, hanar, elcor, volus and drell have one each. The Rachni have one and an interpreter)
Lister the Hamster V: Lives happily in an apartment on the Citadel, which he's forced to share a family of humans. The fish didn't make it, i'm afraid, the tank smashed when the Normandy crashed in the jungle.
What i'm not sure about:
EDI: EDI got wiped out in the Destroy ending. Did she have a back up? Is it enough to recreate EDI? Would Joker even want that? It's probably better to just remember her sacrifice.
the Geth: see EDI really, I suspect that Admiral Xen will be building more soon. I think somebody should lend her a bunch of Asimov novels first though, that might help.
Javik: Javik tends to die in my playthroughs, my Sheps say with the best of intentions that they'd rather keep the painful memories alive than lose them and Javik uses the shard. Since I can't really envision what a lone Prothean is going to do with his life, I might have to stick with that.
Other people I'd like to see in the Spectres: a hanar and a volus, Mordin's un-named nephew (Figure they can handle Q branch between them), Kirrahe, Shiala.
The Leviathans are probably the race most likely to resurface and screw up my brave new world. Or maybe some fallout from Cerberus. Liara may have to choose between her friends and her agents someday.

OK, let me give it a shot.
John Shepard: After recovering from near-death when the Crucible fired, John has a long road to recovery. He retires and marries Kaidan Alenko, settling in Vancouver. They adopt a few orphans to raise as their own.
Kaidan Alenko: Marries John Shepard and settles in Vancouver. Remains both a Spectre and an Alliance man but trains biotics. Raises orphans with his husband. Insisted one unnamed infant girl be called Ashley. Occasionally heads out into space on Spectre missions for the Council but is glad the Citadel remains near Earth.
Joker: Mourns the loss of his father, his sister, and especially EDI. Throws himself into his work before meeting a beautiful woman who isn't cowed by sarcastic nature or his frail body. They marry and raise a family.
Urdnot Wrex: Rebuilds Tuchanka with the help of Bakara. Firstborn named Mordin. Erects statues of Mordin Solus and John Shepard. It's a rocky road but he maintains peace, especially with most krogan being too busy reproducing and raising children to think about fighting.
Garrus Vakarian: After a fling with Tali, he returns to Palaven to help rebuild. Remains in contact with Shepard. He's a legend and hero to the turians and eventually becomes primarch.
Tali'Zorah vas Normandy: Returns to Rannoch to help build the quarian civilization anew. Gets to experience life, occasionally, without a suit.
Liara T'Soni: Hands the Shadow Broker network over to Feron. Decides to reclaim her role as an archaeologist and help discover the true history of the galaxy without outside forces covering up the truth. Develops a close relationship with Javik.
Karin Chakwas: Continues life aboard starships. Loves every minute of it. Has a fling with Greg Adams. It doesn't lead anywhere but they meet up from time to time.
Miranda Lawson: Works full time for the Alliance. Heavily involved with Shepard's recovery. Has a home in close proximity to her sister, Oriana. Considered one of the most brilliant biology and cybernetics scientists currently living.
Jacob Taylor: Marries Brynn Cole and raises a huge family.
Urdnot Grunt: Despite his youth, considered a promising future leader. His proven strength and allegiance to Wrex goes a long way in maintaining peace on Tuchanka. Females flock to have his babies.
Kelly Chambers: Comes out of hiding and brings her skills to help the many people suffering from psychological trauma.
Samara: Helps Falere rebuild the Ardat-Yakshi monastery on Lessus. With her daughter, trains new Ardat-Yakshi who are sent there to control their urges. Has never been more happy.
Zaeed Massani: Restless, returns to mercenary work.
Kasumi Goto: Remains trapped in the memories of her dead lover but will sometimes show up in Vancouver to drop off a present of suspect origin for Shepard's children.
Ken & Gabby: They elope and have lots of kids. Ken never strays.
Jack: Continues to train biotics, specifically at Jump Zero. Having heard of the experience Kaidan had there, Jack is determined that she make it better for the next generation. They are the only kids she cares to have but it makes her happy to bring something good into the world.
James Vega: Formally accepted into the N7 program, Vega becomes a career military man. He sometimes crosses paths with Kaidan Alenko when the Spectre requests help for some of his missions.
Javik: Decides to find out more about the galaxy. Grows close to Liara and acts as a protector to her when in dangerous territory. Intends to find out what the Leviathan are up to now that the Reapers are no longer holding them back.
Samantha Traynor: Develops a relationship with Diana Allers and happily returns to a lab.
Steve Cortez: Thanks to Shepard, Cortez is open to the possibility of love again. He finds it and marries, with Vega as his best man.

In my head, Citadel DLC ending is the series ending, so they all go on the Normandy SR-2 for more adventures, ones without Reapers or Cerberus.
It just helps me deal with everything better just imagining that they all survive ME3's ending, and Citadel takes place after. I find it would fit better anyways than Citadel being during the main ME3 campaign anyway.
Wrex, Grunt and Bakara would be involved in the rebuilding of the cities of Tuchanka and recovering histories lost to time and the genophage, basically running things on Tuchanka. Kaliosaurs and all. Miranda I think would help with the rebuilding of worlds with Oriana, and then maybe act like a rogue agent, not helping one species in particular, just lending aide whenever it's needed. Jacob would initially side refugees with Brynn, then marry and settle down on Earth. Jack stays at Grissom with her students, working with Kahlee and Hendel. Samara retires to Lesuss, living out her remaining years with her last daughter Falere. Zaeed again probably retires, to some remote and beautiful world in the Terminus. And Kasumi doing what she does best, stealing priceless treasures from impossible to penetrate vaults or treasuries around the universe, stirring up trouble.
I only covered Wrex and the ME2 crew, cause ME3's squad and crew I'm imagining still serving on the Normandy travelling and going on adventures.

Commander Shepard limped into the vortex and her consciences was integrated into the digital model, allowing for a union between the Synthetic and the Organic, and the world that solved the equation of the soul.
After the period of readjustment her associates honored her memory by installing a simple plaque, and went on their way.
Of note are the following known affliates:
As Geth and Quarians went on to solidify the Unification, Tali and Legion were elected in the new government. The evolution also normalized Jeff and EDI relationship, and the couple was granted the permission to settle with the Migrant Fleet on Rannoch.
Kaidan continued to serve as a Specter, often working with Liara who went on to be an asari rep on the Council. Kaidan married one of the surviving nice human girls, and had many happy children. Jack assumed a position of a corporate accountability watchdog, and still has troubles with writing memos and business attire. Miranda raised high in the Alliance Military and married James, who knows why; he drinks heavily and she takes a lot of assignments that require prolonged absences.
Wrex did what he must to ensure a generation of vigorous Krogan babies to populate Tuchanka, The planet’s biosphere is re-establishing itself thanks to the efforts of a splinter group of the Salarian scientists. Salarians are happy they are so short-lived, because they can almost finish their life-cycles before the Korgans fight over and overturn each decision on the directions of the projects yet again. A young Krogan Grunt is a primary contractor on many of the construction projects.
Samara spent years gathering funds to rebuild the Monastery and settled there as a protector of her daughter and other asari with genetic afflictions, and achieved the state of an asari matriarch’s bliss.
Garrus was reunited with his family on Palaven, and dodged the proposals for advancements in the Turian Hierarchy. He took under his wing a young orphaned drell. In the turmoil of the post-war worlds, there is a great demand for men and women capable to upkeep law and order on the frontiers, and that’s what they do for the time being.

Shepard/Kaidan: Shepard was still hospitalized when the Normandy returned to Earth. Kaidan remained by Shepard's side for every step of his recovery, both physical and psychological. It took months for Shepard to get back to his former condition, but once he did, he opted to return to active duty as a Spectre with his husband in tow. After decades of serving the Alliance and the galaxy, Shepard and Kaidan felt age catching up with them and moved into administrative positions. Shepard accepted a promotion to admiral, while Kaidan started teaching biotic spec ops full time, eventually becoming head of the program. It is at this point that they decided to raise a family. Their four children, two biological and two adopted, led productive lives, but far less eventful than those of their fathers.
Garrus: Garrus returned to Palaven to rebuild. Despite his misgivings, he rose through the ranks of the Turian Hierarchy, becoming Primarch of Palaven in late middle age. Garrus devoted a large amount of time getting the turians to let go of their colonial attitude toward other races. When he was still serving in front-line positions, Garrus found frequent excuses to collaborate with Shepard, and his work on establishing a diplomatic relationship with the quarians gave him plenty of time to spend with Tali.
Wrex: Wrex devoted his life to reestablishing the krogans' place in the galaxy. Working closely with Bakara, and later their children, they made sure that the krogan would thrive without recreating the conditions that led to the Krogan Rebellions. They both passed away not long ever their 2500th birthdays, satisfied that the future of the krogan was in good hands.
Tali: Tali remained a leader of Rannoch, and her role in making peace with the geth gave her voice great weight. She was a consummate diplomat who worked to rebuild the interspecies relationships the quarians lost centuries ago. She was also a prominent voice on the galactic stage for technological innovation, and still found time to work on her own mechanical ideas when she wasn't in diplomatic meetings or making excuses to see Garrus. In her later years, Tali's tireless work on behalf of her people led to her succeed Zal'Koris as the quarians' ambassador to the Citadel. Unlike most of her race, Tali chose not to take the name "Vas Rannoch", preferring to remain "Vas Normandy".
Liara: Liara remained as the Shadow Broker for the next nine hundred years, making sure that the truth about the Reaper War and the things learned in the process were not forgotten. She could always be counted on by theNormandy alumni for information, and also made time to get to know her father and sisters. She also worked closely with Javik, co-authoring many books on prothean biology, culture, and history to make sure that people understood the truth about them. Over time, their relationship became much closer. When Liara felt her thousand year life drawing to a close, she passed the role of Shadow Broker on to her oldest daughter.
Jacob: Jacob remained with Brynn and successfully convinced her not to name their daughter "Hackett Taylor". Both returned to the Alliance to help rebuilding efforts. Though their careers were generally successful, neither managed to escape the suspicion that came with their past association with Cerberus. Jacob eventually retired from active duty and became an instructor at a military academy.
Miranda: Miranda informally began to work for the Alliance, proving instrumental in tracking down the Cerberus cells that had survived the attack on Cronos Station. She also systematically shut down her father's business empire and used his contacts to point the Alliance to Cerberus's shell corporations. Despite this, Miranda's own loyalties were never really trusted, and Miranda quietly settled into medical research once the last remnants of Cerberus were swept away. She retained close ties with Oriana, and found that she greatly enjoyed being called "Aunt Miri".
Jack: Jack remained as a teacher for Grissom Academy, and also regularly took missions for the Alliance. Though she was offered promotions, Jack didn't want to lose the personal relationships she developed with her students, having not had anything like it growing up. With Miranda and Liara's help, Jack also tracked down her biological family. Though they were shocked to see what had become of their daughter, Jack's parents welcomed her back with open arms.
Grunt Grunt became an increasingly prominent figure in the krogan military, as well as a surrogate older brother to Wrex's children. When krogan factions tried to depose Wrex or recreate the rebellion, Grunt was the person sent in to stop them. After Wrex and Bakara passed, Grunt became the leader of the krogan race, and made sure that Wrex's reforms were not abandoned.
Samara: Samara continued to watch over Falere, as the code demanded. Using the part of the code that required fealty to the existing asari government, Samara protected her daughter as Falare oversaw significant reforms in the treatment of law-abiding Ardat-Yakshi. Mother and daughter both retained no sympathy for those like Morinth, but Ardat-Yakshi who proved both the ability and willingness to control themselves felt less as if they were punished for existing. For their part, Samara and Falere were both happy that they no longer had to be separated.
Zaeed: Zaeed took a long overdue retirement, with Jessie at his side. He was still willing to come out of retirement from time to time if the other Normandy alumni needed some extra muscle.
Kasumi: Ever the kleptomaniac, Kasumi vanished into the shadows of the galaxy, using her talents to make sure that necessary supplies found their way to those that needed them most. She never got over Keiji's death, but was always available when her friends needed some subterfuge. One day, contact with Kasumi stopped. Some say she was killed. Others say that she went into a more normal life under an assumed name. If the Normandy crew knows the answer, they aren't telling anyone.
James: James remained in the Alliance military and completed his N7 training with honors. He continued to rise through the ranks until he became a Rear Admiral. He eventually got over his confusion over his sexuality and married Steve Cortez.
EDI: EDI was aware that her own Reaper components meant that there may simply be no way to end the Reaper threat for good without killing her as well. Shepard and Joker found a message EDI had composed on the way to Earth for the final battle, letting the person who freed her and the person who made her feel truly alive know that she had accepted the possibility of her life needing to be sacrificed, and that she went to her death with no regrets.
Javik: For years Javik wandered the galaxy, learning about the races that had replaced his empire, and experiencing for the first time in his life a galaxy that was at relative peace. He showed his friends the prothean homeworld, and worked with Liara to make sure that there were records of what the protheans really were, drawing them increasingly close. Though Javik's death meant the final extinction of his people, a shadow of the protheans lived on through Javik and Liara's daughters.
Joker: Joker retired after returning to Earth. Though he had found EDI's message, losing both her and the rest of his family proved too much for Joker to handle. The rest of the Normandy kept frequent contact, making sure he didn't waste away.
Steve: Steve returned to piloting fighters, and eventually became a flight instructor for the next generation. Having finally moved on from Robert's death, Steve began entertaining the idea of remarrying, but first he had to wait for Mr. Vega to get a grip on his own sexuality.
Samantha: Samantha returned to R&D, where she worked closely with the resurgent rachni to revolutionize communications technology on a galactic scale. She eventually encountered Captain Lee Riley, and married her after dating on and off for several years. Shepard never was able to beat her in a chess match.
Chakwas: Chackwas finally had her fill of adventure, and left the military to take a job at a teaching hospital. This job was conveniently close to Joker, allowing Chakwas to continue seeing to his medical needs.
Adams: Adams returned to Alliance R&D, and went to work spreading the Normandy's advancements to other ships.
Ken and Gabby: They eloped immediately after returning to Earth and followed Adams to R&D, where they worked to expand on the Normandy's already state-of-the-art technology.
Aria: Aria never forgot Nyreen's sacrifice or Shepard's help, and oversaw Omega's transformation into a more lawful state.
Asari: One of the first things Shepard did after waking up and regaining his ability to speak was reveal that the asari had been hiding a beacon with the information needed to defeat the Reapers since before first contact with the salarians, in defiance of the laws they laid down on everyone else. Once this information was confirmed by human and turian investigation teams, the backlash against the asari was swift and severe. Though Tevos fought it, Councilors Osoba, Valern, and Sparatus unanimously agreed that the asari would be expelled from the Citadel Council. They were ready to go even further, but the Normandy crew spoke up in favor of allowing the asari to keep an embassy, pointing out that more than 99% of the asari race were just as ignorant of Vendetta as the rest of the galaxy. Many maidens and matrons were as fed up with the old guard matriarchs as everyone else in the Milky Way, which led to Matriarch Aethyta being selected as their new ambassador in a landslide.
The Council The next bombshell came after the asari situation was settled. During the incident with Shepard's clone, Kaidan had recorded the files they found proving that the Council had known the truth about Sovereign all along and hid it from the rest of the galaxy, even the governments of their own races. When he revealed this to the Council and the planetary governments, Valern and Sparatus were immediately called back to their homeworlds, where they were stripped of their positions and imprisoned. Rumor in the turian military is that the confrontation between Sparatus and Primarch Victus devolved into a fist fight, which Sparatus badly lost. Victus refuses to confirm or deny this rumor.
Humans: Learning the lesson from the difficulties they faced during the Reaper occupation due to their own internal divisions, Humanity formally united under a single planetary government, although local jurisdictions still retained a large degree of autonomy over their affairs. For his leadership during the war, Steven Hackett was elected the first president of the united Terrestrial Alliance in a landslide that would likely never be seen again.
Turians: The turians devoted themselves to rebuilding their worlds and those of their allies. Under Victus's and later Garrus's leadership, they began conducting themselves in interplanetary affairs on a more equal level with other races in order to avoid a repeat of the First Contact War.
Salarian: Wrex revealed the information regarding the salarians' experiments that had been uncovered during Cerberus's attack on Sur'kesh. Not wanting to face something even worse than the Krogan Rebellions, the Council started keeping a closer eye on the STG's activities.
Krogan: Under Wrex and Bakara's leadership, the krogan entered a new golden age. The krogan looked to the salarians and quarians for a solution to their high birth rate, and placed strict limitations on the number of children people were allowed to have, and the frequency. To facilitate this, birth control was made a public commodity. Though some factions wanted to return to the days of expansionism, the krogan were made aware that the nature of the genophage cure meant that it was not really gone, and could be brought back if the krogan tried to repeat history.
Quarians and Geth: When the quarians returned to Rannoch to start rebuilding in earnest, they made a surprising discovery. The geth had predicted that the method used to destroy the Reapers could destroy them as well, and had built specially protected servers in the hope that their software, their true selves, would remain even if their hardware was destroyed. Their gamble paid off, and they contacted the quarians from within these servers to start rebuilding platforms, allowing both races to recover and start rebuilding Rannoch together. To prevent a repeat of the Morning War, the Council decided that the quarians and the geth should have separate embassies, so that neutral arbiters could step in if tensions started up again. For his part in reconciling the two warring races, Zal'Koris was chosen as the ambassador for his people.
Rachni: The last rachni queen returned to their homeworld of Suen, where she rebuilt their society. Finally able to reveal themselves to the galaxy on their own terms, the rachni developed peaceful relationships with other races, and used volunteers to facilitate their embassy.
Elcor, hanar, volus, and drell: All these races were able to rebuild their worlds. The elcor had the most trouble, and had to rely on extensive cloning and genetic engineering to preserve genetic diversity. With the help of the salarians, the hanar were able to develop a cure for Kepral's Syndrome.
Leviathan: The galaxy immediately moved to prevent the leviathans from taking advantage of post-war instability. Despoina was quarantined and all artefacts were destroyed with extreme prejudice. The navies of the council races were always at the ready to turn Despoina to glass the moment the leviathans made the wrong move.

No one knows what happened. No one was there to bear witness.
The crew was devastated by the disappearance of Shepard. They knew she must have done something. Many speculated that, in the end, somehow, she was able to project all her emotions, her memories and dreams into whatever force was in control of the Reapers.
And so it was that they stopped, motionless, for a long time, and one day they departed, deep into the vastness of dark space.
One day, Garrus was walking by the decks of the rebuilt Citadel. And it seemed that Avina was calling him. As he approached, the hologram delivered one final message, from a distant friend...
«I was born from the woman she was. The woman whose desire was to protect you and give you the greatest gift she could ever offer... Hope. Hope for a future where you would have a voice. That was her single greatest desire, will and thought. I was born from this desire, this will. It is the very essence of who I am. Her will, her thoughts are now my purpose. They are what make who I am. Without them, I would not exist...»

I just want Bakara to be the Queen of Everything and for Garrus to be able to look his sister in the eye again. That letter made me sad. And I like to think that he and Shep got hitched in a formal ceremony that was A Big Deal as far as galactic news goes, but only after Shep's loooooong recovery. Jack has her students, Miranda has her sister, Tali's got a homeworld...
Zaeed is chillin' on a gudamn beach somewhere, not getting bested by some fucking kids' game.

This is for my canon Shepard, with a somewhat headcanoned version of Synthesis:
Kaidan becomes the new CO of the Normandy, and the ship's primary mission is cracking down on black marketeers looking to take advantage of the reconstruction process, as well as locating any Leviathans and their spheres outside of their home system to make sure they don't get any ideas. Joker, EDI, Chakwas, Samantha, Adams, Daniels, and Donnelly are all still part of the crew, with EDI granted full citizenship rights and a regular military commission under the Alliance.
Garrus is put in charge of a new joint turian-krogan military academy for elite soldiers, housed at the Citadel and established to cement the new friendly relations between the two species. He ends up getting married to...
Tali, who is working as a special assistant to Koris, who becomes the new Quarian Councilor, as the species agree to extend Council status to all spacefaring species that have a unified government (so pretty much everybody except the vorcha). The two of them do end up buying property on both Palaven and Rannoch once the relays are working again, but they spend most of their time on the Citadel. Tali formally resigns her admiralship, as she isn't really a career soldier at heart and her experience in working with other species would make her valuable in a diplomatic post.
Liara returns to academia as one of the most prominent historians of the Reaper War, and her intelligence network is integrated into the Spectres. She and Aethyta stay in touch, though their relationship isn't a conventional father-daughter one.
Wrex remains co-leader of the krogan with Bakara, and in the immediate aftermath, he's their representative on the Citadel while she takes care of things on Tuchanka. However, once the relays are working again, he goes back to Tuchanka and Bakara becomes the krogan councilor, negotiating for gradual expansion to other worlds so as to marginalize the influence of any more militant krogan. Grunt is in charge of a reconstituted Aralakh Company, whose primary job is laying the groundwork at the new colony worlds, though he also proves a popular "guest speaker" at Garrus's turian-krogan academy.
Javik keeps a low profile at first, not really liking the attention that he receives as the "last prothean," and preferring to spend his time visiting the resting places of his deceased prothean comrades. He eventually warms up to the "primitives" and occasionally helps out on reconstruction projects on planets that had a large prothean population, and he collaborates with Liara on her new book on prothean history.
Miranda is put in charge of contacting and negotiating with other ex-Cerberus types who had fled the organization or been indoctrinated and now want to "come in from the cold," with a sort of truth and reconciliation commission established in return for the operatives' assistance in reconstruction and in tracking down the few Cerberus holdouts.
James serves under Kaidan's command for a while but eventually gets promoted to his own command, with Steve transferring off the Normandy to join James' crew.
Jacob marries Brynn and has his Alliance commission restored, though they do not name the kid "Shepard."
Jack turns down the offer to enlist in the Alliance formally but does help Kahlee and other Grissom survivors rebuild the academy, which expands to include species who didn't have their own biotic training programs before the war.
Kasumi is absent at roll call for the Crucible Project debrief one day and is found to have quietly departed her living quarters without telling anybody. Though she hasn't been seen in public since then, everyone agrees that she's probably fine and just doesn't want to be found.
Samara is allowed to retire from the Justicars and spends her remaining years with Falere - who is cured of the ardat-yakshi condition by the synthesis upgrades - and the family she is now able to start.
And the "Aria's Expecting Me" Guy on Omega finally gives up and goes home.

I take Tali at her word that she's using Garrus for his body. Ultimately, with her race in need of growth now that it has a homeworld again, I figure she'd think it her duty to have children. She couldn't do that with Garrus and so would sacrifice any potential relationship for "the greater good". So...let's see your ending for the crew/squad now that you know it doesn't all have to be grim and brutal death.

Okay this doesn't cover all of them, but this was somewhat cathartic and fun to do
Shepard survived the explosion brought about by the Crucible's destruction of the reapers but not without serious injury that required several years of intensive rehabilitation to learn to walk again. Cybernetics and thanks to Dr Chakwas'contacts, other advanced medical technologies restored Shepard's battered physical body, but her soul was forever scarred. Later, when her recovery was complete, she moved to warm and sunny Virmire where upon she and Garrus retired to a lagoon-side abode, with all deluxe amenities including plenty of spare room for visits from their family and surviving crew.
Garrus, too, was seriously injured by the events in London but helped head the search for Shepard in the ruins of the Citadel. Although beckoned by his father to return to Palaven and pursue a career in politics, Garrus and Shepard co-designed many popular simulated battles for the Armax Arsenal Arena and co-wrote a few fictional pieces that were used to create major action movies. Their popularity and success with such ventures ensured they never had to work again and enjoyed much quality time together including shooting cans and other inanimate objects in their state of the art personal shooting range. He remained a long time with his soul mate Shepard until her death upon which he returned to Palaven to live out the rest of his life.
Joker continued his service with the Alliance as a flight instructor well into his 60's. He gained notoriety and a cult following for his involvement with Shepard and for his piloting of the Normandy. Secretly, Joker never got over losing EDI and tried many times to have her rebuilt only to be disappointed and disillusioned.
Urdnot Grunt became Wrex's top commanding officer and helped clear out the remaining reaper forces on Tuchanka. His virility ensured masses of mini Grunts who, eventually, took up high ranks in the Krogan military.
Liara remained the Shadow Broker and developed a long and fruitful relationship with Traynor. Working together they amassed a huge fortune not only of credits but of knowledge. They also discovered a mutual love of ancient Prothean strategy games and long hot baths together. Eventually they married and had 3 children, two of which became part of the Andromeda Initiative.
James joined the N7 and recommended Steve join as well. Together they remained vigilant over the galaxy, finding and eliminating small but potentially dangerous pockets of reaper forces that remained after the events of London. James' bi-sexuality but lack of commitment lead to a few trysts with Steve, but much to Steve's sadness, they never formed a permanent relationship.
Kasumi became a special agent for the Alliance, staying abreast of new alien technologies. One day, Kaidan, now head of the Alliance Biotics division, caught up with Kasumi at an Alliance function whereby they became lovers. They were frequent vistors to the Vakarian/Shepard household - telling them tales of their adventures over long dinners and drinks. Kaidan was devastated when Kasumi was fatally wounded in an espionage plot gone awry. He raised their son Kaede, a biotic prodigy, alone.
Tali remained an admiral of the Quarian Fleet until her marriage to Kal'Reegar. Together they built a grand and beautiful home in Rannoch and filled it with many children. Tali was forever grateful that Shepard sought peace with the Geth who now played an integral part in daily Quarian life as co-workers and friends.
Zaeed fathered a son but abandoned him and his mother to aid Samara oversee the rebuilding and reorganisation of the Asari justicars. Although their relationship was never consumated, he remained besotted by Samara and her code for the rest of his life.

sugarless: Good stuff! Not that I'm asking you to change anything, but you should know: Kal'Reegar died on Palaven, as per an email you get during ME3. Also, the Andromeda Initiative left during the events of ME2 (probably the end of 2185, based on the book) so any child of Liara and Traynor would be unable to go unless there were future arks - which is possible.

Oh no - I have to admit I really don't always read the emails as they come in and clearly I missed that one... well, shit...... poor Kal'Reegar he's a quite the likeable quarian. I always felt he had soft spot for Tali after her recruitment mission in ME2. I haven't read any of the the books, but yeah future arks to Andromeda sounds about right. Thanks hehe

Nice thread. I'll give this a go. Note that I haven't read anyone else's posts in here yet, so if there are repetitions, it's just because maybe it's a very plausible outcome. Shepard: Died when the Citadel blew up. Breath scene or not, s/he's gone. No one ever learned what happened on the Citadel exactly, they just speculate that Shepard did something over there. All they know is that the crucible eventually fired and destroyed the reapers. The Sol relay was broken by the crucible (and it would take decades of research and engineering efforts to repair it eventually) but as the wave spread throughout the galaxy, it diminished in force. While still strong enough to destroy the reapers everywhere, most of the relay system actually remained more or less intact. Joker: Still flying the Normandy for the alliance as a special operations ship under Hackett's command Hackett: With the death of Alliance parliament, the destruction of the Citadel and wide spread devastation on earth, Hackett as fleet admiral of the Alliance military and with all of humanity under martial law is the most powerful human in the galaxy and de facto leader of the species. Critics say that his overbearing position of power is worrying and that once earth gets rebuilt to a point where civilian government is feasible again, he should step down. He has yet to comment on the long term plans he has for the military though... Garrus: Went back to devastated Palaven. Is now special advisor to Primarch Victus and - after the death of the Primarch's only son - is very likely to become the next Primarch. He doesn't like it but he will damn well do his duty to the turian people. Liara: Went back to Thessia for a while to help rebuild. She gave up the Shadow Broker infrastrcuture and dissolved the entire organization as she mainly saw it as a means to help in the reaper war. She soon joind a multi species research team that investigated reaper remains to determine what they were exactly. While others took them apart to reasearch reaper technology, she was more interested what might be able to be recovered about the species of past cycles that were harvested. She is also writing a Biography of Shepard. Wrex & Grunt: Went back to Tuchanka to rebuild their civilization. Both still need lot's of ice bags. At lest Wrex's first born daughter Urdnot Mordin keeps him on his toes. Meanwhile Grunt has gotten some unexpected fame by introducing a spicy human noodle dish on Tuchanka, which is very popular among the Krogan. EDI: Still "on" the Normandy of course, flying with Joker (btw, Traynor, Steve, Adams, Gabby and Ken are all still there). Tali: Is building her house on Rannoch and takes up her role as a leader among the quarian people as they rebuild their home planet. Kaidan/Ash: Still on the Normandy. James: Planned to go back to Rio to see if anything was left of the Farm, where he wanted to start his N7 training. However the place was completely destroyed. Shortly after the end of the war though, Hackett held a ceremony for the Normandy and her crew, where he presented James with the N7 insignia, stating that the young soldier had had more than enough lethal field training to pass. James would serve as N7 for quite a while until later in his life, he'd rebuild the Farm and become director of the new training program. Javik: Left basically the moment the war was over. He said he had places from his time to visit and to put ghosts to rest. No one ever saw him again. Zaeed: Retired for a while, buying a lakeside property on a fairly low key world. However, less then a year in, he got sucked back into some shady business, that took him back into the terminus systems. Whether some old grudges caught up with him or if he just couldn't' stay away from it, no one knows for sure, not even he himself. Samara: Died during the final battle against the reapers in the sol system. Her daughter Falere spent years rebuilding the monastery on Lessus. Jacob: Got wounded badly in the final battle against the reapers. He now has a synthetic leg prosthesis that he never could get quite used to, so he is out of action. Instead, He and Brynn helped to rebuild a shattered community on earth, where they live now, with their 3 children ... none of which is called Shepard. Miranda: Managed to trick herself into becoming the new CEO of her father's company. Also bringing in some old Cerberus resources, she knew about (and which after the death of TIM were easy to snag). She is considered the richest human in the galaxy but avoids the public. Her companies are doing very well for themselves while also being on the forefront of rebuilding earth and it's colonies. Kasumi: Went back underground. Rumor has it, she was last seen on Novaria, where she stole some very delicate documents from Lorik Que'en, the CEO of Novaria Development Holding. Gianna Parassini is looking into it but so far, it can't even be confirmed that Ms. Goto ever stepped foot on the planet in the first place. Jack: She was offered to become head of the Ascension practical teaching program at the newly rebuilt Grissom Academy. (Unfortunately, Kahlee Sanders died. She remained on board the crucible with a skeleton crew, when it docked with the citadel, to ensure that it would work, they did real time calibration during its activation. They told no one and so no one knew until after the battle was over that these few people sacrificed their lives so the crucible would work. In the end, she died no more than a few hundred meters away from David Anderson). Jack turned the offer down though and instead chose some of the best students she had fought with in the reaper war to build a team that hunts down remnants of Cerberus troops and leadership. While not an official part of the Alliance, her team has some underhanded backing from multiple governments, including Hackett. Aria: Left the Citadel in time. Is back on Omega. Bayley: Managed to survive in an emergency shelter that he and other C-Sec troops held against reaper forces. After going back to earth for a short time, to search for his ex-wife and children, he found they had perished during the reaper occupation. He went back to the Citadel to oversee the repairs and was a strong advocate for its relocation back to the serpent nebula (which eventually happened in the 2230s after it was a constant source of conflict as the other races resented it being in Earth orbit). The council: Died during the reaper attack on the citadel. It was never re-instated. The years after the reaper war were full of turmoil and a lot of times the species came close to war as they tried to reshape the galaxy. The previously powerful races had lost the most to the reapers and so smaller factions tried to get a bigger piece of the cake. With all the destruction the reapers had wrought, resources were scarce for everyone and the slightest provocation could become a huge diplomatic incident. Over all, the decades after the reapers had been defeated resembled a multi-front cold war between all the major species. Eventually though, in the mid 23rd century, a new council was created, one that involved members of all species, capable of interstellar travel. It would often be remarked how little power this new council had and how little it could get done, due to its size and all the viewpoints it represented. In the end, it was more of a diplomatic stage for the species to interact on than a truly powerful political entity. But no one would deny that its inception markedly stabilized relations between the races all over the Milky Way. The new council is seated in the rebuilt Citadel, back in the Serpent Nebula. It's meetings are convened at the top of Shepard Memorial Tower.

This might be contradicted by evidence in the ending slides, I don't remember, but...
I like to think that the Citadel is abandoned due to its true purpose as a Reaper trap becoming common knowledge. It is left in orbit around Earth, derelict, a monument to the billions upon billions of lives that were lost across all the cycles.
The seat of galactic government is moved to a planet in neutral territory (Ilos, perhaps?) The new Council comprises representatives of all the spacefaring races who contributed to the war effort, including the geth if they are still around. If the genophage was cured, the salarians find themselves in a position of far less influence than before as a consequence of their lesser contribution to the war.
