I've always wondered why I get Warning messages like that....Not very often, but it does happen. And sometimes no matter what area of the BSN I visit....Randomly, I'll see warnings that say things like "A Port Scan from IP xx.xxx.xxx.xx was blocked" or in rare cases warnings about potential virus threats on *this page* of the BSN. So the stuff comes from the ad network, or some part of it. That is not unusual anymore. Adverts shown on this site come from various sources outside the site domain. One of the advert serving machines have been owned and thats enough.Antivirus catches it everytime the advert is shown.

I didn't say anything about throwing away your money. PiHole is a DNS server, and massively restricts what comes through your network. In a good way. If you think that is throwing away money, I will be sure to not offer advice to you in the future. If you cannot afford it, that is different. As for BitDefender - not sure where you surf where you are so concerned about AV. I haven't used anything but free Microsoft-provided AV for almost 10yrs now, zero issues. Sorry, you said "PiHole".....I automatically thought of something like the Raspberry Pi platform, because that is the only thing I am familiar with that uses the scientific/mathematical nomenclature "Pi" in its name. My apologies, I misunderstood. Forgive me if I sounded rude, that was not my intention. I gladly welcome your advise (and everyone's advise) any time. You weren't wrong, didn't misunderstand but may not have been fully aware of how it works Pi-Hole is a software based DNS server that will run on almost any OS, but was made for Linux. I built an RPi4 (total cost with SD card was <70), and I could have used a PiZero and done the whole thing for 40. It is a low-power PC, and will take the DNS duties from your router. The Pi-Hole has blocklists you can use, or make your own, or a combo. This was my first experiment in Linux, specifically Raspbian. After being pleasantly not scared after that, I converted my old gaming PC to a Ubuntu server. Our home internet speed is improved overall - less wasted time loading BS images I don't want to see anyway. On forums like this, I see "ADVERTISEMENT" if there is an ad. Loads way faster than something with graphics and animation. Far less malicious/suspicious going on as well, as advertising is the trojan that most malware resides in these days. Cannot recommend enough. Oh and it's free, donate if you feel like it. I did.

DO NOT, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, USE LEFTOVER PSU CABLES FROM A DIFFERENT PSU ON YOUR NEW PSU.
Cables are proprietary, and even if the connectors are the same you may end up destroying things in a very sad way. Probably not an exciting one, but it could get exciting - as an electrician of 13 years now, I have learned a lot about electricity, and have no clue why things happen sometimes still. Follow the manufacturer's instructions, only use the PSU cables that came with the PSU or approved cables (like CableMod) that are made specific for your variety of PSU.

I'm a PSU guy, and while the leads should meet specifications, there's no guarantee that they actually do. And I have pretty good idea why. Copper is expensive and PSUs are made in China, cheaply.

Yeah I'm running Bitdefender TS and I've been getting the infected page message so it's not just you, I only get it when I use Firefox when I switch to the Brave browser everything is normal.

Yeah I'm running Bitdefender TS and I've been getting the infected page message so it's not just you, I only get it when I use Firefox when I switch to the Brave browser everything is normal. In my opinion, Bitdefender is the very best AV Suite I've ever used. In the mid to late 1990s I started with Norton Utilities...When Anti-Virus suites were first coming on the scene (and I might as well have hung a HUGE neon sign on my PC that said "PLEASE COME INFECT ME!" Because I had nothing BUT viruses when using that suite. It was horrible. Then I switched to NOD32 (that I got for free from a former PC guy that I knew; I have spoken about him in a previous post/thread), and NOD32 was good at Detection/Protection (at the time....This is the late 90s, early early 2000s) but it was a huge resource hog and over time there were other Suites that surpassed it. Then I switched to AVG....and again, that was good at some things but not great at others...and it became expensive for what it offered. So in 2011-12 I read an article in PC Mag about a small company called GData about how during that time that particular software was the best bang for the $$$, so I tried it. I liked it at first, but it became like NOD32, and there were things that I grew not to like about it. And then in early 2012 I switched from GData to my present Suite of choice which is Bitdefender Total Security...and hands down, Bitdefender is the very best of all of them in every category that I have used. And their Customer Service is second-to-none. Yes, it is expensive....But for everything you get plus the amazing customer service-- it's all worth it. In the 9 years I have been using Bit Defender I have had many viruses blocked....But NONE have actually entered my PC. Curious, what is your opinion and experience with Bitdefender?

Curious, what is your opinion and experience with Bitdefender? I've been using it for several years now, started out with the usual "free" suspects then Norton and now Bitdefender. User friendly intuitive UI, reliable performance and importantly doesn't constantly pester you with "alerts" and usually runs quietly and unobtrusively in the background without getting in your way. Contented customer no complaints.
