This morning, I'm getting a white sh*t load of Virus Detection/Virus Blocked Warnings from Bit Defender on this entire site. Every page I visit here is coming up with this Trojan.Script.474127 More than a dozen in the past 15 minutes....Every page. And normally, I don't get anything, except maybe, the very odd time, a Port Scan that will be blocked. Does anyone else every get warnings like ths? one minute ago Feature: Online Threat Prevention We blocked this dangerous page for your protection: www.soundjay.com/button/beep-21.mp3Threat name: Trojan.Script.474127 Dangerous pages attempt to install software that can harm the device, gather personal information or operate without your consent.

Maybe download and run Malwarebytes from www.malwarebytes.comI clicked your link (it's something that I do) and it was blocked. Perhaps something is still lingering in your system?

Maybe download and run Malwarebytes from www.malwarebytes.comI clicked your link (it's something that I do) and it was blocked. Perhaps something is still lingering in your system? Afte this occured I ran two FULL Scans with Bit Defender Total Sec. 2021 scanning for: Trojans, Viruses, Malware, Spyware, Adware, Rootkits, Worms, Keyloggers, Dialers, PuPs and it found aboslutely nothing. Just ran two more scans with Malwarebytes and like my BD (which scans for everything Malwarebytes does, only better)....Malwarebytes also found absolutely nothing on my PC......BUT as soon as I come onto this website, it raises WARNING: This Website is Infected with a Trjoan, but the infection has been BLOCKED and your PC is Protected! So even Malwarebytes detects that this Site is infected......

Okay, I slightly misunderstood your post. But the main thing is that your PC is clean.
It appears that the site soundjay has been infected with a malware. If you need access to that site, you'll have to wait until they've been cleaned.

No I don't want to access that site....Soudjay.com.....I am always curious though while when on the BSN, I get notifications that other sites (such as soundjay.com) are trying to access my PC. As if those sites outside the BSN are somehow piggybacking on this Forum and trying to gain access to Users' systems that way. Which is why I say the BSN is infected in some way, or at least vulnerable to infection through outside, third party sites.

Use uBlock Origin to block the ad networks, they are the source of most browser virii/spyware/malware. Install the extension, subscribe to the blocking lists you want, but be sure to choose your country list too.

It does nothing else, except blocks the ads running and displaying on your browser, thus making it much more secure and a bit faster Its a browser extension, available for Edge, Firefox compatibles etc. and Chrome. You can also block items by yourself with it and so on. I think the path of a "data packet" is something like this 1. firewall, 2. antivirus, 3. uBlock origin, 4. browser displays data.

Maybe the Mods want to get in touch with ProBoards....?

Not usually something that I associate with being called a Virus... let alone a severe virus are another matter all together.
Just two stupid questions: 1. Have you checked the list of installed programs list and see if some virus/adware/spyware has installed itself into your system? 2. Have you tried a different browser and see if it still happens?
If it still shows up then remove the adware/spyware: Install and run this. It will find things that anti-viruses are missing and deleting.

My experience with getting in touch with ProBoards for this sort of thing is that they ask me to have the user click the Report Ad button on the bottom of the page. I have seen other people report ads from ProBoards triggering warnings before. They try to remove them, but only if they're reported. If you don't know which ad it was on the page, just click the button and say so, they'll be able to investigate the ads that were running at the time.

This reminds me of a thread... Something something div div div. Energizer Bunny, do you have a spare $50? Or a spare low-power PC? With a Pi-Hole, and uBlock, I essentially see only the ads I allow. This makes Proboards sad, but unfortunately they can't be bothered to vet the ads that run, and sometimes there is malicious script in there. Long story short too late - block every ad you can, no matter how nice the friendly website asks you not too. They won't replace your computer when a virus puts it out of commission. Not saying this is likely, saying it is a potential outcome and I refuse to be a party to it

Thanks Reggie, Rewind, Vanguard, Mousestalker et al. I have installed ublockorigin, and it doesn't seem to be doing jack. Also, Bitdefender Total Security removes adware/spyware, trojans. worms, rootkits, dialers, keyloggers, PuPs and even Ransomware, and every other general form of Nasty. For the past 10 years it has been the #1 Top-Rated AV Suite for Protection, Detection and Removal.
To answer your question, Vanguard: Yes I have checked this site with other Browsers (including Chrome, IE 11, MS Edge and Firefox) and they all show this virus being on this site....As do all the AV suites I have run including Bitdefender Total Security 2021, Malwarebytes, Windows Defender...THEY all raise the same WARNING Message that I have posted. So if ALL my browsers pick it up, and all three AV programs detect it when run separately and independently of each other....Then something is wrong. And yet I have run FULL SCANS with each of those Suites on all my SSDs, M.2s and HDDs Deep Cleaning my entire system as many as 12 times....and each of those 12 Full Scans came up "Completely Clean".
And no,I don't have money to throw away, nor do I have a lower end PC. This is it. I have what I have.

I didn't say anything about throwing away your money. PiHole is a DNS server, and massively restricts what comes through your network. In a good way.
If you think that is throwing away money, I will be sure to not offer advice to you in the future.
If you cannot afford it, that is different.
As for BitDefender - not sure where you surf where you are so concerned about AV. I haven't used anything but free Microsoft-provided AV for almost 10yrs now, zero issues.

I'm late to the party, as usual these days.
So it seems to be a case of malvertising. Most users don't get a warning, either because they were quietly infected or because their browsers blocked the attempt. I would advice users to scan their systems for malware, and if malware is found, installing a browser extension that will filter all incoming traffic. I recommend using Malwarebytes Browser Guard or uBlock Origin. And like said above, clean your cache and history.
It is worth noting, that not all AV software properly spot all malware. Particularly trojans can be very devious, so it is good practice to use a software, that specializes in detecting networking related malware, like trojans and worms.

It is exactly malvertising, and has been a problem across all PB forums for years now.

It basically blocks browser from loading and showing the adverts. And thats good. You want this. I never see any flashing ads on this site....But periodically, I have gotten Warnings from my Bitdefender about things like "A Port Scan was blocked" or "Virus Threat Detected/Blocked on page" while surfing here on the BSN.... again, as if something from outside this Forum is trying to get in. My Browsers are set-up to Clear Cookies and Browsing History upon CLOSE. I've always wondered why I get Warning messages like that....Not very often, but it does happen. And sometimes no matter what area of the BSN I visit....Randomly, I'll see warnings that say things like "A Port Scan from IP xx.xxx.xxx.xx was blocked" or in rare cases warnings about potential virus threats on *this page* of the BSN. But I have never seen any flashy thingy advertisements for other products/services or sites......Not like on Google where they track your shopping habits, for example and flash ads in your face to say "if you shopped here, then try shopping here, you might be interested in this...." Nothing like that on this site. Even before instaling ublockorigin.

Sorry, you said "PiHole".....I automatically thought of something like the Raspberry Pi platform, because that is the only thing I am familiar with that uses the scientific/mathematical nomenclature "Pi" in its name. My apologies, I misunderstood. Forgive me if I sounded rude, that was not my intention. I gladly welcome your advise (and everyone's advise) any time.

It is exactly malvertising, and has been a problem across all PB forums for years now. Free? Who is the product? Gotcha. "Malvertising".....As in "Malicious Advertising". Got it. *wink* And I find it a relief to hear that it "has been a problem across all ProBoards Forums for years now...." So that tells me that it is an inherent issue with the Site, and NOT something infecting my PC. Thank you Artist. Nevertheless, until I hear back from Bitdefender about their analysis...I will try to avoid visiting the BSN for a while. But, Artist...what you have just told me helps clarify the situation. And to everyone who has posted replies and offered their suggestions, thank you.
