Curious.....Is the Tomb Raider Trilogy out for PC yet? ( the Reboot series that initially started on Xbox 360, I mean) and ends with Shadow of the Tomb Raider. I had heard that the whole Trilogy was being released on PC at some point. I have the first two installments on my 360, and I thoroughly enjoy them but I haven't played my 360 in close to 10 years....and because Shadow is presently only available on PS4 as far as I know....I have not played it yet though I really would like to play it so I can say that I completed the story of the whole trilogy.
IF/When it comes out to PC (probably via STEAM) it is a title that I would purchase for PC so that I can play through the whole Trilogy on one platform. If there is anyone who can confirm its release or provide other details, it would be appreciated.
I am specifically looking for the Definitive Survivor Edition on PC....... I've found each game seperately on STEAM, for 20, 35 and 55 dollars CAD respectively.....and after tax that comes to 122.32 CAD, which averages out to 40 dollars and change per game, which I think, is very reasonable.
I'm very tempted....Because although I thoroughly enjoyed the first two games on my 360, I don't play my 360 anymore....and I haven't played the third game yet and I would like to. It would be nice to have all three games on the platform I actually use, so I could actually complete the whole story of the Trilogy. Not to mention be able to see the game and environments in 4K on my new Beasty!
Thoughts? Suggestions?
Well......I did it: I clicked my mouse and hit the "YOU MUST PURCHASE THIS!" Button. I bought all three Tomb Raider games: Tomb Raider (2016 PC version) Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration Edition (including ALL DLC) and The Shadow of The Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition (PC). Was actually less than I expected. Came in at 110 CAD after Taxes. That works out to a very reasonable 36.67 CAD for each game. A good deal I would say. Now I don't have to worry about losing two great games if I ever get around to selling my XBox 360
I ran the In-Game Benchmark Tools for all the games.....and The most demanding is of course Shadows. Even with ALL Settings set to their Max/Ultra, and WITH DLSS, 16x Anistropic Filtering, and RTX Ray Tracing all turned ON in 4K.....I'm still getting 54 to 56 FPS.....and that is close enough to the magic number of 60s for me that I won't complain because I know how demanding (I've heard) Ray Tracing can be. But it does look gorgeous! As for the other two games, I'm getting a solid 60 in Tomb Raider all settings Ultra and 58.5 FPS also all Settings on Ultra on RISE...... so over all I am extremely pleased.

Hey, Cyberstrike....thanks for your post. I realized yesterday that my previously held beliefs were incorrect (or just outdated) because I found all three games (including the Celebration Edition of Rise and the Definitive Edition of Shadows) on STEAM for PC yesterday afternoon (please see the bottom half of that same post you quoted).
Nonetheless, I am happy now that I can play all three games on PC and not have to worry if I lose the first two when/if I can sell my 360 because I will now have them on PC (which I prefer playing on anyways).
I haven't started the PC version of Tomb Raider yet....it's loaded and ready to go, I just have to find some time.

I just learned about it recently though, because I read something a few months back that talked about the Definitive Edition coming in a bundle pack of all three games....being released for the first time on PC. Previously...for all these years since the release of the Xbox One I was always under the impression that Shadows was exclusive to consoles, and that the first two were only on the older platforms like the Xbox 360 and PS4. I have the first two games on my 360....and I thoroughly enjoyed both of them. And until recently it was my understanding that Shadows was only to be released on the new consoles like PS4, PS5 and Xbox One S, X etc. I had no idea that any of the games were also available on PC. But I learned that only a few days ago when surfing hte store.

Yeah it's mine to because of my diasbility as I've always found mouse and keyboard easier to play with games. It's mostly because of the advertisindg as they always try t oboos tsales of consoles. Bu tTR has always been a PC game as well. Handles much the same way as Horizon Zero Dawn does on PC. It's always a good idea to kee pan eye on Steam for games tha tmight interest you

Totally loving playing through TOMB RAIDER on PC, but there are some parts-- some very annoying parts that I remember playing through on my 360 coming up that I don't want to have to go through, like fighting the undead Samurai while on my way to the Temple to rescue Sam from Matthias. UGH. They just keep coming...and then I run out of Ammo for nearly all my weapons and I have either get really creative, really lucky....or just D E D.

TR and ROTTR should do a pretty good job of living up to your expectations. Rise was a particularly good example of the series.
Chances are, you'll forge ahead with Shadow regardless of warnings (I did) so I'll just suggest you keep your expectations low when it comes to the third game.

Well it depends on your tastes but for me I found Shadow to be my personal favourite of the 3. But then I've always preffered a slower moe rpuzzle like style of game asnd for me Shadow fit that far better than Rise or TR2013 did

I haven't seen anything or played anything of Shadows....please try to keep *Spoilers* to an absolute minimum....as in NONE whatsoever, please and thank you.
I have played RISE of the Tomb Raider many times and of the two I originally had for Xbox 360, ROTR was my favourite if I had to choose one though I thoroughly enjoyed both. But again, I know absolutely nothing of SHADOWS....and I would like to keep it that way until I actually come around to playing it because I am currently playing through the whole Trilogy on PC in order to complete the story.

So....I feel like I'm missing something: The Trilogy I bought, I bought seperaately. I was hoping for the whole Trilogy in a Bundle called the Definitve Edition (I do remember reading an article about that late last year)....But what I ended up buying was the Standard PC version, or whatever it was that was on sale on STEAM for 19.99....Then I bought the 20 Year Celebration Edition (which included all the DLCs released to date) of RISE of the Tomb Raider....And lastly I bought the Definitive Edition of SHADOWS of the Tomb Raider. Did I miss something? Is there some other "more special edition" of the first TR game on PC? Because if there is I can't find it. Other than the GOTY Edition which I don't want because it is mostly MP add-ons that I don't want to bother with. What I am looking for is actual extended story DLCs and the like, such as the ones released for RISE or Shadows. THIS was the version I was anticipating being available for PC......But from everything I can tell, from everything I have searched and read ithis particular bundled Trilogy pack the Definitive Survivor Edition is exclusive to Consoles with no plans for a PC release. www.thefpsreview.com/2021/03/07/tomb-raider-definitive-survivor-trilogy-appears-on-microsoft-store/www.microsoft.com/en-ca/p/tomb-raider-definitive-edition/bqxts0sx4w0n?activetab=pivot:overviewtabFor the life of me, I cannot find this particular Edition on PC anywhere. Which is why I bought whatever STEAM versions there were individually, but I think I got the ones I was hoping for for the last two installments, just not the first....But that is okay. I guess.

The first game never got any big story dlcs or anything. On PC you can get the GOTY bundle which like you said is mostly just some multiplayer stuff, or a few skins. I think the only gameplay content it got was one additional tomb to explore. And the only difference in the consoles Definitive edition is that it got some improved visuals in textures/lighting but all else is the same.

There are only two versions of the 2013 Tomb Raider on PC atm: base and GOTY. GOTY contains some multi-player stuff, an additional tomb, some character skins, and some skills & gear. (Yeah, upgraded agility is $0.99 DLC. So is a silencer for the pistol.)

Never thought I'd see the day when I actually run out of VRAM on my GPU.....That hasn'thappened to me in 10 years or more. But today, ROTTR crashed with an error message that said "there was a problem with your GPU. The Memory usage was too high. This could be a Driver problem, or you might need to adjust the Settings in the Game."
I toned down the some of the Settings from maxed out at VERY HIGH, to either just "HIGH" or ON (by Default) and I haven't had that message again. The only two settings I still keep on their max setting of "VERY HIGH" is the Texture Detail (for character models) and the Level of Detail for environments. Everything else like Ambient Occlusion, Dynamic Foliage, Shadows etc....All those types of settings are either just on HIGH or ON.
It seems to make a difference in the gameplay, in so much as I have not gotten that crash again (which is good) and to be honest....I can't visually tell the difference in the appearance of the Graphics ebtween High and Very High....so I am going to leave it as is.
But I never expected any game I play to actually use more than 8 GB of VRAM, especially not one that was released in 2014-ish....I mean, even DAI doesn't use that much, nor does ANTHEM as far as I can tell. Not sure why RISE of the Tomb Raider does.

I would never say that any of the Dragon Age or Mass Effect games really aimed for graphical quality as their primary focus. So the textures and details with Rise of the Tomb Raider could be more demanding due to the approach of the development team. One thing I am liking more and more with recent video games and most notably the ones from Ubisoft is they show a bar on how much of the video memory you are using so you can turn elements on and off to get the most out of your video card.

Never thought I'd see the day when I actually run out of VRAM on my GPU.....That hasn'thappened to me in 10 years or more. But today, ROTTR crashed with an error message that said "there was a problem with your GPU. The Memory usage was too high. This could be a Driver problem, or you might need to adjust the Settings in the Game." I toned down the some of the Settings from maxed out at VERY HIGH, to either just "HIGH" or ON (by Default) and I haven't had that message again. Yeah Horizon Zero Dawn does this a tleas ton the PC version.

Since I made those ever-so-slight-to-me-barely-noticeable-graphical-changes from VERY HIGH to HIGH for everything but Texture Detail and Level Of Detail (those remain on VERY HIGH)....the error message has not returned and the gameplay is a solid 60 FPS at 4K (Lara never looked so goood!)

Rise of the Tomb Raider sounds even better, even more realistic with my Logitech G935s in 7.1 DTS Surround Sound.....I can actually FEEL the buildings crumble and the ground shaking!

Question: Can I play Croft Manor after the main story? Yes. In fact it's best experienced after it as it is a bit of an epilogue tbh mucfhlike Trespasser is for DAI
