I have a PS5, which houses my entire gaming library. I've been thinking about getting an Xbox, and transferring (in a sense) most 3rd party games, including Mass Effect from my PS5 to the Xbox (essentially starting each one over again), and to be honest, I don't know why. Everywhere I look, people say the Series X is the most powerful console. Maybe I'm feeling nostalgic and want to play ME on Xbox. One of the reasons I wanted to get an Xbox was Assassin's Creed: Syndicate. It wasn't working properly on PS5, but now it's been patched. There's also Dragon Age Origins and DA2, which I have never played before. They're only backwards compatible on Xbox, as far as consoles are concerned. There's also Fable and Halo. I don't know if I really want to play those games, but there's a part of me that wants an Xbox because they're there, readily available. But I don't know if it's worth all the trouble, economically speaking. Is it a big enough loss? Am I truly missing out? You could argue a bigger loss would be if I had an Xbox but not a PlayStation. Please note that I don't want a PC. I'm done with PC, and can Bo longer afford it.
What do you think?

To play DAO and DA2 would be worth getting an xbox. The other thing is the xbox will be able to play Starfield, if that game catches your interest. I voted yes.

Some general all round advice. So you won't want to get an XBox if you're a PC gamer because XBox games come on PC which is nice. With that out of the way the reason you get a console is for the games on it. Sure the XBOX may be a touch more powerful but not by enough to really make a difference and lets be honest, people who care a lot about performance usually go to PC. As a game machine the PS5 and XBOX do the job no complaints, so if you have games you really want to play on the XBOX (and you're not a PC gamer) then sure, why not pick one up If you don't have many games you want to play exclusively on the XBOX then it's hard for me to recommend the extra purchase to people. TL;DR consoles are all about games. Want a bunch of PS5 exclusives? Pick up a PS5. Want a bunch of XBOX exclusives and you don't like PC? Pick it up.

Yeah that jus tabou tsums i tup as all Xbox games nowadays also ge treleased to PC so Xbox doesn't reall ywhat you might call exclusives any more. I mainl ybought my series X becaus eI already had built up a bit of a library on my XB1 before Microsoft decided t od othat. I don' tmind really as th efeatures th eseries X has makes single player games handle really nice with the quick resum eand all that. I've mostl ybeen thinkin grecently o fconverting mine into a sports gam emachin ein tha tI mostl yuse i tfor the yearl ysports games when I buy them as games lik eFifa and NBA an dgames like that handle bette rthere than on m yPC. I'll stil use my PC for mos tof m ygames. I've mostl ybeen thinking tha tfo rdown the line. But yeah the series X does have backwards compatibility. I don' thave Dragon Age on Xbox othe rthabn Inquisition as I bought it ove rthere as well as on PC t ogive myself somethin differen tto play than the normal stuff I'd pla yon it I d oknow tha tDAI works fine on my X and my older XB1 Fifa's do as well. If you already gam eon PC and don' t or haven't owned any Xboxes an dXbox games in the past then getting an Xbox wouldn't b eworth it but seeing as yo usaid you don' tgam eon PC as yo uprefer the consoles then yes I'd sa ygo fo rit. But yea hthe series X is fun t ouse. I enjoy playin gon i tanyhow. I can' ttalk abou tth ePS4 o r5 as I've not played on them and I haven' tplayed on a Playstation since the PS3 I stil use m yPS3 now and then but not as much as I used to. The onl yPS game I wantt opla yatm is Horizon Forbidden West but seeing as it's going t ocome PC's way eventually probably next year I'm happy to wait.

I'm not sure I understand the point of the poll... As far as whether it's worth it, that would ultimately come down to your financial situation.
Every Xbox game you mention could be played on Xbox One, which you could probably get used if you wanted to save money. The only one of those games that couldn't be played on 360 would be Syndicate, so you could just get a used 360. The storefront would provide access to the 360 version of those games, so you wouldn't need to seek out disc copies. Most would be under $30, and could be obtained on sale for a few bucks.
If I already had a PS5, I wouldn't bother with X/S unless I needed it for something specific.

Personally since Xbox games come to pc anyways I’d just get a pc but I know you’ve said pc is not being considered. There’s lots of fun Xbox exclusives like the halo master chief collection (I personally don’t recommend 343 halo at all but that’s just me ), you got the gears of war franchise, state of decay, the upcoming starfield too. Wasteland 3, forza if you’re into cars, the list can go on tbh. I don’t take into consideration on the “most powers console” stuff that Xbox and Sony people partake in cause ultimately consoles are still handicapped hardware. They’ll market 60 frames and 4K but even current generation can’t truly run that 🤷♀️. And a pc is the way to go if a gamer does want that experience but again I know you said no pc. I’m sure there are some cheap Xbox one Xs (not the series X) out there too for $300 or so. I think it’s worth it to experience some of the stuff I listed and then there’s more Im sure you could find and enjoy that I didn’t mention.

I dumped my gaming PC 15 years ago (because I got fed up with the endless hassle and cost). Now with an Xbox, PS and Switch I can play pretty much what I want, with little hassle.
