Hey folks, finally taken the dive into using the DA Toolset yesterday, and can quite proudly say i've already managed to accomplish a lot of the modifications I was aiming for.
HOWEVER, for reasons that escape me, when I try to duplicate an already existing weapon or armor set in the game, then add properties to it, such as +3 willpower, or change it's item variation to look like a differant armor set, even when I just try to change it's name, then save that and export it using the 'Export without dependent resources', before changing the exported files name to the correct name of the original item I'm trying to override, and finally putting it in said override folder, I still can't get it to work.
What happens is, I'll load up my game, and find the item usually seems to have worked perfectly. It has a new name, new stats, etc, but after putting it on and thinking I did a good job, I suddenly find when I reload the game, my character is now naked in the case of armor for example, and the item is gone from my inventory entirely. In other cases it just reverts back to it's default self.
In addition to trying and failing to modify items these ways, I also have been trying to modify the effects of new items added by other mods. That obviously doesn't work either.
Would someone be so kind as to explain to me what steps I'm missing, or all together not doing, that is required in order for weapons and armor, modded or vanilla, to have their stats/model changed, and it stays that way, all working perfectly?
