Do families still play board games or have iPads completely taken over?
And I don't mean the Risk Mass Effect edition. I think it would be cool if we had a board game where players got to manage a spaceship crew and send them on missions to different planets and the players would be given decisions that would impact the direction of the story and depending on the dice results the player group could permanently lose crew members. It would be kind of like a table top RPG but the characters are already premade with their own deep backstories and I hope that this type of game would appeal to board gamers beyond the TTRPG crowd. Have we stopped dreaming of space and the future?
I believe such a game if good could inspire a lot of people to get into the sci fi genre.
I heard many of today's fantasy writers loved playing DnD in the 80s.

Something like this? It was announced just recently. The ME risk version is pretty inline with the newer versions of risk. It adds a slight twist to the classic game. The Game of Thrones version is the best I think.

Yes, not everyone has a tablet, a Playstation 5, XBX, or a high end PC and/or smartphone.
Also this isn't new a while ago Heroes of Might and Magic III (color me surprised) got a board game started by Kickstarter and the company that made the board game wants to a miniature tactics board game in the vein of Warhammer 4K and Ubisoft is apparently OK with it they can only the characters and models that were used Heroes of Might and Magic III though. There are rumors and let make this perfectly clear these are RUMORS that are suggesting that Ubisoft is considering a new Might and Magic video game, or a remaster of the earlier Heroes games.
