I gave in and took the heart response with Aloy, if there is only one choice I'd rather she didn't end up alone was my rationale.
Seyka is just too much like her. Beta is the physical clone and Seyka is the attitude/circumstance clone. It'd be like romancing herself. I actually think after this game I am on the Team Erend bandwagon. I'd rather a Talana or Petra relationship but the whole Seyka thing is I think going to be a fete accompli and shoehorned down our throats or there will be no relationship at all. Erend is way off my Aloy's radar, definitely in the brother category.

What is with the lesbo fetish? lol Talana is googly-eyed over her hunter friend but Petra is a possibility. She seems a lot older than Aloy though, so that might be weird. There is always Kotallo. I'd rather no relationship than a forced one though.

Yesterday like Energizer Bunny 211 I got a heap done, over 7 hours worth I think, and my poor old hands are feeling it today. Kind of hard to recount as I bounced around a fair bit till the afternoon. Started with Cauldron Kappa, got through with only a few mistakes, one was that I restarted several times as I thought I was messing up the first jump but it was a built in fail. After that not too bad but at one point needed to look at a video, why is my memory so bad!!!!!! :built-in: Then focused on Rebel Outposts and Camps and got that to the point that Erend is champing at the bit to go to First Forge, also have the last part of Zo's Land God's and Kotallo's arm quests ready to go. Then knocked over Demeter as I was there (didn't find Alva so annoying this time) and Poseidon which I got a bit confused on this time and turned on "Guided" as it was getting late. Did a lot of other exploring (on the Sun Wing) but the map is still heavily fogged and with a lot of icons unknown still. Was going to wait till I hit the Gemini Quest then explore the map. Pic's Cauldron Kappa a wonderful underwater .... something Retrieving Demeter Raintrace is a fun Rebel Camp to do The Poseidon Adventure here we come Sun wing shots at night

Well, I don't think there is any doubt where the motivation for writing that into the game is coming from, it's the way of the world these days. I think Talana said she wouldn't be anyone's second choice so she may be an option again, but the Dev's would have written that I think if they were going to I think. Kotallo would be my choice as well. Yeah, that was my only concern with Petra as well, but her age is a bit in-determinate I think but I am guessing she is late twenties early thirties I suppose and Aloy is what 20 tops? I think there will be no save import in the third game as well, so I think there'll be options at the start to make your choices again or an opt out during the game anyway.

Beta is the physical clone and Seyka is the attitude/circumstance clone. It'd be like romancing herself. I actually think after this game I am on the Team Erend bandwagon. I'm for Erend too because Aloy has more interactions with him this time and at the end, they are closer. Mind you, I was rooting for Varl so I was very disappointed when he fell for Zoe. Still a good match nevertheless. I was of course not happy he died. Of those who're left, it's Erend who has a close rapport with Aloy. Seyka as a romance partner is a joke and badly thought out imo. I don't know why the writer thought there would be love when they barely knew each other. Seyka's in love or thought she is. I'd say it's a crush because Aloy is the only one supporting her while her own people are trying to pitch fork her. However, Seyka is not totally without support. The Admiral and her friend do support her. I'd say Seyka is more attracted to the freedom Aloy represented for Aloy is free to do what she wills. I chose to have Aloy reject her. There's too much on her plate and I seriously doubt she has any other feelings than friendship for Seyka.

Getting this in before the site decides to lose its upstream again.... Did several rounds of Arena matches yesterday evening and bought 1 armor and 1 weave with the tokens. Still have more to do but my fingers got tired. Here are my current game stats/completion rates. Not sure how the DLC is so low, and no idea what that one missing activity might be since I got the achievement for all quests done:
The game says I have 137 hrs...that seems like a big discrepancy from Steam. I know I've left the game running/paused sometimes but not for 35 hrs!

Well it' s written into the storytha ta lo tof thei r people perished on the way from crossing the Pacific. Guess we know why. So in thi sinstance it's not the devs failing that was the issue it was th eQuen being stupid. Game world wise, the Quens were clueless despite having access to the focus. I'd say it's the best material around for the level of technology they have except that I don't recall seeing any sheep in the game. 🤣 I'd presume there are. Anyway, wool is the common fiber and people would use it for their clothes as it keeps them warm. However, it's a killer for the soldiers fighting wars because once they're trapped or forced to flee across / through any body of water, their fate is sealed. The common medieval soldier's clothes would consist of gambeson lined with wool or linen, their trousers made of wool. Add on fatigue from battle, wounds, it's the heavens for the unfortunate soldier whose flight path is to forge across a stream, etc. Historical records often mentioned soldiers slaughtered as they tried to escape across a body of water or struggling to get across to advance. Poor sods were bogged down by their clothes. Yeah I don' thtin ki thelps wit hthe fac ttha tthe yhav ecertain rules like onl ycertain peopl eae rallowed t ous efocuses lik thei rdiviners and tha tCEO bein ga right prat he kin dof deserved wha thappenned t ohim in th eend. At leas ta coupl eo fthem sa wsense like Alva and Seyka bu tpeopl elike them seemed a bi tdfa and fwe between. Plus the fac tthe Quen opened fier on Alo ythe momen tsh eshowed up was a bi tweird. Shootin gfirs tan daskin gquestions later never did help anyone learn.

I like Seyka well enough, but the pacing was very fast, of course. I did find it believable enough as Aloy's first crush. Coming into FW, I liked Varl and Avad, if anyone, so I guess I'd still choose Avad for her if given a choice. Seyka is fine, too, if she's a companion with a strong presence in the next game. melbella, I believe there are 23 Errands in the main game. There easiest to find by picking up rumors at campfires and via mounted travel along roads. Maybe the missing event in Burning Shores is the delver's trove? Did you hunt down that place yet?

One of the not done errands is the Enduring, which I'm stuck on due to stupid melee pit controls. I'll have to jump around looking for rumors for the others I guess. But first I need to finish the Arena.

So my nemesis Cauldron Iota is defeated and with only one death at the Vent climbing spot that defeated and demoralised me so mightily last time with 10+ deaths. Funnily enough it seems that the trick is not to climb to the very top of the 2nd set (left hand side) I actually made the jump first time from the 2nd from top blade. This was as the lights started flashing and I panicked. Also as I knew where to go I didn't spend an eternity trying to find the way out at the first Core. I think other than BS and Gemini I only have MU to do. Maybe one other? With that out of the way I stumbled into the Mudslide quest with Nikkita, one of my less favourite quests but again knowing what to do at least sped it up. Then my plan was to take care of side quests especially the companion's quests. Did Kotallo's, then Zo's and then Erends. Then just spent time tidying up areas that had been partly explored and taking out Rebel Outposts if I came across them, plus a lot of Apex Machine killing. Need to find a Dread wing site to do some upgrades haven't cleared the area in the East I think it is where there is one. Also for some reason the one at the lab where you find Demeter did not open up as in the question mark never disappeared?? Pic's Cauldron Iota and the ride out Little Nikki Zo and the Singing Cows Erend and Flaming Asera Scenery

So Cauldron Mu done. The first time I did it I mentioned I one shot the boss which is a Widemaw and can confirm it must have been a glitch A) that I one shot it and that there was only one. This time I two shot the first one and another spawned and that I definitely one shot in the eye. Done and only one death, I am starting to suspect my keyboard's space bar may be part of the problem as often it is just because Aloy doesn't jump sometimes when I have clearly hit the button. Aaagh daylight such a relief exiting a cauldron.

dazk, there's another area to explore at the Greenhouse. It is accessible only after the story mission to claim Demeter. It's the R&D wing that ended up submerged in the intervening centuries. Aloy mentions it, at one point during the Demeter quest. That's probably the "?" you're seeing. You can actually explore all over the rooftops of the structures. It's not too exciting, but I enjoy experiencing the mundane stuff, too. They did such a good job making the world look and feel real.

Finished all the arena fights and bought all the stuff I could with the tokens. Had some left over even. Only had to re-do one round, 2 Apex Scorchers + 4 Apex Clamberjaws. Instead of focusing on one and moving on, I tried to hit everything at once and ended up whittling down nothing. Lesson learned. Ok, ok...it was story mode but still, that's a lot of fighting. My favorite weapon to use was the Boltblaster just because it fires so fast. Too bad the game doesn't auto-collect the loot for you from each fight. That's a lot of machine parts I don't get to keep. By the time I was done I had 699 shards left. Fast-traveled waaaay back to the far east end of the map and sold a bunch of stuff to the hunter at Last Log. Also wiped my pouch resource group since everything is fully upgraded and I'm back up to a respectable 8K shards.
Now I'm trying to figure out the Specter Gauntlet and so far not having much luck.

Element Zero mentioned Avad, I had forgotten about him and I'd have him at the top of the male potential relationships. I wonder if Aloy was always meant to be in a female, female relationship given the info. we get re Elisabeth and Tilda????

dazk, the submerged wing is open to the air, so you can drop in from above or swim into it. I don't think you can call the mount while inside, so you have to swim out of it. It's not a huge area. It's a great place for catching fish. melbella, I wasn't impressed by the Spectre Gauntlet at first, but I came to appreciate it during my last playthrough. You generally want to use the weapon technique to paint the target before firing. It gives the projectiles a homing feature and increases damage. Its ammo is super cheap to make. The railgun functions sort of like a powerful Sharpshot attack. It isn't as powerful as the best Sharpshot arrows, but it's a waaay less expensive alternative. The Shard Barrage seems weak, at first, but is surprisingly good. I mangled a Spectre with it during my last run. It requires very little aiming, thanks to the weapon technique. If you can quickly tag a target, then you can just spray shards and they'll follow the target.

Finished Frozen Wilds at last. Wow, if you do all the side quests as well, that DLC has quite a bit of content. The final fight against the Fireclaw in the volcano seemed a lot easier than the first time I played it. I used a lot of frost bombs from the shadow sling to make it brittle this time. That probably helped a lot to speed things along. Kinda happy to get out of the cold now though. Time to finish the main game.

Yesterday in short as per above started doing Cauldron Mu but after that it was all a bit over the place. Had not cleared the NE part of the map so focused on that and did the quest with the Two Carja scholars to get the portable defence thing. Also got the last Lens for Rayna. Then just uncovered stuff and did bits and pieces until I decided to do Talanah's mission in which the dialogue seemed to be a bit different at the end and not sure why as there are no "choices" to be made. Whereas I clearly remember her saying she'd be nobody's second choice" this time her response was more she'd wait for Amdadis to figure out what was going on. Anyway that's all I can remember but there was lots of Drone and Black Box retrievals and of course machine killing. Pic's or rather the Talanah gallery

I believe there are 23 Errands in the main game. There easiest to find by picking up rumors at campfires and via mounted travel along roads. Maybe the missing event in Burning Shores is the delver's trove? Did you hunt down that place yet? Yeah, I did that. One of the not done errands is the Enduring, which I'm stuck on due to stupid melee pit controls. I'll have to jump around looking for rumors for the others I guess. But first I need to finish the Arena.
Completion update: the missing 'activity' in Burning Shores was the added round in the Arena. Doing all the matches bumped me up to 90% for the DLC and 92% (almost 93%) for the main game. I managed to cheese the Specter Gauntlet achievement by attacking some poor little Burrowers and enlisted the aid of my Waterwing to get up high enough for gliding. Also jumped off several cliffs.
Next order of business is Machine Strike. I did all the tutorials (had only done the first one before) with the player in Chainscrape and won the first two matches of the group. You have to win 4 to get the game piece reward but I'm halfway to the achievement which requires you to beat 2 different players at least once. Once I'm done here I'll move on the next player, I think in Plainsong? Might also swing by the Hunting Grounds to buy more pieces. It appears the first 3 games of the set have fixed load outs but I'm thinking the final, 'regular' game will let you pick your own pieces to play. Otherwise there'd be no point in collecting them.

I am back in the main game and did the Zero Dawn facility under Sunfall yesterday. Even already knowing the story, that mission is just amazing. The setup, walking the same path as new recruits of the project would, getting first the bad news from Herres (that Enduring Victory is complete bullshit and nothing can stop the demise of the biosphere) and then the (more or less) good news from Sobek (that there is a plan but it can only go forward after all life on the planet has gone extinct). That, intertwined with those sections, where you find voice recordings of the reactions of a couple of recruits, the whole staging and dramaturgy are just perfect. And a final sucker punch, after Sobek's message, you next find this text on a console. Even having played it before, I still get goosebumps. IMO, this mission is one of those rare moments in gaming that comes along maybe once every 5-10 years. The only other one I can think of from the top of my head was the Revan revelation in KotOR. Really excellent.

Wow lot of hours yesterday, Aloy totally earned her Forrest Gump Achievement if there had been one!!!! I think I put in at least 8 hours between 10am and 10pm, my sole goal was to try and clear the map. Took it from about 40% cleared to maybe 80% or more. Mostly achieved except for a few small spots in the North West Corner and deliberately the South West Corner. The NW corner only has a few icons to go but looks worse as there is a sparse area in it. Probably would have got more done if I hadn't decided to fight so many Apex Machine fights in particular for parts. My main reason for doing this was I was in the mood and was worried if I didn't do it I'd just complete the story and move on. Zoomed in shots showing what is left

Initiated a lot of salvage quest and did a few minor quests but most of the other shots are scenery and here they are. Today will if I get a chance, do story stuff and side quests. It's a holiday to celebrate ANZAC day where we recognise the defence forces fallen and current members. It's a huge day in Australia and my son serves and gets to do the parade with his first active service medal. Pic's
