Well, she does refute that sentiment herself in her first conversation by admitting that she makes mistakes.

She's one of my favourite characters in the trilogy, and my favourite female character. I think I might do a re-run of the trilogy when I return from vacation, it's been a while.

I'll confess: at this time I've done almost a dozen playthroughs of the trilogy, and I've never played as Femshep. Because no Miranda romance.

Legit, this is the reason why I can never go past the tutorial mission with FemShep. My brain keeps telling me "yeah, FemShep is cool and all, but you can't romance Miranda", and I go back to DudeShep.

Miranda can really rub you the wrong way in all your interactions before you get the Normandy SR-2. But as soon as you get the ship, she shows just how professional she is. She is your second-in-command and speaks much more politely and warmly to yu from now on.
As a Renegade Femshep who eventually came to really share Cerberus' ideals (shame about ME3 but forget that game for now) I think of Miranda as being the squadmate my Shepard was closest to; like a sister. Lots of people say Tali feels like their kid sister but to me, it was all about Miranda. In spite of her ice queen attitude and dialogue talking about how "perfect" she is, you can tell she's deeply insecure and this is a fact so many people miss. And for those who don't miss it, they just shrug it off. Because the fact not everyone has lived the horror story that is Jack's upbringing means that no one else has a right to complain, apparently. Miranda is the vanity project of a sociopath and has almost no real sense of self-worth because of this. She puts up a brave front but that's mostly what it was. Until my Shep came along, that is. My Shepard always encouraged her to love herself and take pride in all she's accomplished.
Also, apparently, Miranda was supposed to be a bisexual option. But somebody, possibly Satan, was like "no, ME2 is TOO good! We have to make some flaws here and there." And so that idea was axed.
Goddammit. Still, there's lots of intimate tension between Femshep and Miranda and the fanfic writers of the world picked up on this.

And Bioware didn't change the dynamics for femShep and Miranda, so it looks like there's something there I'm glad they didn't make her bisexual, I mean, this is not dragon age 2. Still, there's lots of intimate tension between Femshep and Miranda and the fanfic writers of the world picked up on this. Definitely agree with everything here. In my headcanon, Miranda (and Jack, funnily enough) was one of the companions my Shep was closest to, as it felt much more meaningful to break through the whole ice queen barrier she had up. And I don't typically romance other female characters in games, but for her I would've lol

Also thumbs up for Yvonne Strahovski voice acting. Watching some videos on youtube of things in the game I haven't done, I came to one of Shep breaking up with Miranda in ME3, and it's amazing how she's completely heart broken and how her voice turns stone cold after the break up, as if her walls are back up.

Curious if it's just me? Not that it's bad or so, but during Yvonne's ME3 voice acting I often think she must have had a slight cold or so when she recorded the lines. Can't point as to why, but it doesn't seem to be her regular American entertainment voice. It certainly wasn't her original Australian English Would have loved to have her more involved in ME3, especially the Cerberus HQ at Chronos station towards the end. I guess to many variables (alive, dead, loyal or not) was the reason for her and most of ME2's cast being only on the fringes in ME3.

Miranda has a refined Australian accent, and Yvonne used that I think over her more natural general accent.
I absolutely agree with the perspective on Miranda being the best fit for a Shepard; they're both exceptional people a cut above the normal fabric of a person. Miranda is the closest distaff counter-part to my Shepard, and her summation of each other (galactic hero and super spy) is the best way to really label them.
My Shepard slowly came over to her side of thinking in regards to Cerberus, to the point that he is largely their biggest champion for all humanity.

Also, they understand each other in ways others don't. Like you said, they're both exceptional and have the pressure of being perfect as in they can't afford to fail because there's so much expectations on them. No other LI can't connect with Shepard in the same way Miranda does. That's why I think they're the perfect fit. I also feel like there was a huge sexual tension since the beginning.
