Each Inquisitor gets an animal for their tarot card meant to represent them. But do you feel that another animal represents your Inquisitor better, if so what is it? Also, if you had the choice of what kind of tarot card they would have ( the fool, the magician, the page of swords, etc) what would it be, and how would it change over time? What would their romance tarot card be? Post Trespasser tarot card? And since we're on this, what would the tarot cards of your Warden and your Hawke?

Interesting. I have a few inquisitors that I feel I associate different animals with than what is on the tarot card. I know nothing about tarot, so I don't know which card it would be. Artemis Lavellan--Owl Aislann Lavellan--Hawk Maeve Lavellan--Eagle
I haven't given it any thought beyond that.

I never understood the whole tarot thing in Inquisition. Did the cards have a meaning in the game of which I am unfamiliar? I bought the Inquisitor Edition of the game (the huge black box with all the collectible goodies), and it came with a full deck of tarot cards, but I have no idea why (I mean, I know the cards show up in the loading screens). Do they mean anything except for an artistic style for the game?

IIRC Varric's 2nd card stands for the Sun Dorian's stands for the Magician Bull's 1st for the Devil Solas 1st is the Hermit and the 2nd the Tower I remember one being the Carriage but I can't remember who. I have no real knowledge about the meaning of those cards, all my Tarot knowledge comes from Persona 4.

I play a non-mage Trevelyan. The Trevelyan non-mage is a bit different from the rest in that it's not just an animal that was chosen for its symbolism. The stallion is the symbol of the real-world Cornish Trevelyans. In that sense, I've never really thought of that animal representing my character, or whether it's appropriate.

Do they mean anything except for an artistic style for the game? Sort of...some of the choices are quite appropriate and match the characters with the meaning of the cards very well, but some choices are a little different too, where they have remixed some of the traditional symbolism. So yes, there's some artistic and thematic meaning, if you are familiar with tarot. But no, they don't really impact anything as far as actual gameplay goes, other than the romance cards and changes that show up if you complete the personal quest.

To be honest, I kind of wish a Lavellan mage had a halla as their Taro card rather than a random stag.
