First Plot World (Therum)The goal for this section is beating the Battlemaster on Therum. It almost always makes sense to get Liara ASAP, regardless of class.
Since it is on the way, swing by Edolus for Missing Marines and some XP.
Level 9Points: +2 (25)
Pistols 5 (Marksman)
Tactical Armor 7 (Shield Boost, Medium Armor)
Fitness 3
Decryption 1 (Sabotage)
Electronics 1 (Overload)
Assault Rifles 1 (Overkill)
Intimidate 5 (2 freebies)
Spectre 4 (Unity)
The next power we are trying to get is Immunity, which is easily the best of the defensive powers. Just one point short, we could have had it if we skimped on Medium Armor, but it doesn’t make as much sense to do that IMO.
Tali should work towards Master Hacking, Garrus should try to wrap up Master Sabotage and then work towards Electronics, and Kaidan should be maxing Electronics or getting Neural Shock. That will partly depend on how much you need first aid bonus, and if you want him to cover Electronics.
Level 10Points: +2 (27)
Pistols 5 (Marksman)
Sniper Rifles 1
Tactical Armor 7 (Shield Boost, Medium Armor)
Fitness 4 (Immunity)
Decryption 1 (Sabotage)
Electronics 1 (Overload)
Assault Rifles 1 (Overkill)
Intimidate 5 (2 freebies)
Spectre 4 (Unity)
You should hit this before the end of Missing Marines if you kill the Thresher Maw, even if you left the Citadel directly after becoming a Spectre.
Grab Immunity from the Fitness line. 50% Damage Protection is a win. We now should have adequate defense for a while, so put the other point in Sniper Rifles.
Level 11Points: +2 (29)
Pistols 5 (Marksman)
Sniper Rifles 3 (Assassination)
Tactical Armor 7 (Shield Boost, Medium Armor)
Fitness 4 (Immunity)
Decryption 1 (Sabotage)
Electronics 1 (Overload)
Assault Rifles 1 (Overkill)
Intimidate 5 (2 freebies)
Spectre 4 (Unity)
You might start Therum around here, or hit this level in the beginning. It will depend partly on how many side quests you did beforehand. Some combination of Tali, Kaidan or Wrex probably makes the most sense.
Pick up Assassination so your SR can actually have a little punch. It is somewhat helpful for picking off Rocket Troopers or the like.
Tali should have something like Master Sabotage, Master Overload, Damping, and 5 points in Hacking. For Wrex, a decent build for him at Level 11 might be Overkill, Heavy Armor, Immunity, Advanced Warp 7, Barrier, and Passive 5. That will allow Wrex to reach Advanced Throw by the Battlemaster, which is the level necessary to affect him. If you are behind a couple levels in XP, steal points from Armor and Passive. There is no guarantee Krogan heavy armor will even drop.
Since this mission is an Armature fest, you might want to use the Mako to weaken them, and then hop out to finish them for max XP. The Mako can knock them down by running over them.

Working on offense. It’s possible for Kaidan to have Advanced Lift at this level if the leveling path on the Citadel was Lift 1, to Neural Shock, then investment back in Lift. Alternatively, if you maxed Electronics after getting Lift 1, then you will have Advanced Lift at Level 13 (and no Neural shock).
In any case, Advanced Lift will be sufficient to lift both Geth Armatures and the Battlemaster.
You could work on Fitness / Immunity here, but really Basic is sufficient for a long time even with mediocre armor in conjunction with shield bonus from Electronics. Get that instead of Decryption over the next few levels if you are feeling squishy.

You will probably make Level 15 by the Battlemaster fight. Pick up Advanced Sabotage. Alternatively, you could have been working on Electronics / Overload. Sabotage isn’t a great choice against the Battlemaster (he will charge), it is more useful at this stage against every other enemy on the way.
Battlemaster strategy is similar to what I posted for Engineer or Soldier. Engage the Geth, then the Battlemaster. Leaving a single Geth is a good idea as it allows you to take the initiative against the krogan.
Switch your ammo to Chemical or Radioactive, use Overload, and fire at him until he rushes you. With Kaidan or Wrex you should be able to ragdoll him at least once. With a Stinger II, Advanced Marksman and debuffs this should be sufficient to finish him.
If you were a contrarian and took Tali and Garrus, then the fight is bit more challenging as you won’t have a ragdoll power for him unless you personally took Medicine. In this scenario you might need to hit him with a nice grenade, and try to keep him at range. Stacking Overloads for debuff is a good idea.
Interestingly, pathing for Krogan seems to be a bit off when they encounter low cover. I noticed this in Chora’s Den (bouncer) and the Battlemaster fight recently. I can post my Minimalist Infiltrator version of this encounter when I finally get that one uploaded, which shows the Battlemaster standing around. It was somewhat moot since Wrex was there to ragdoll him if needed.

Update
For some of these I add a link to the fight just to show the general tactic to make it relatively easy for whatever class. I have the one from my recent run, but as above, the Battlemaster stupidly hid behind the cover for a while. Can watch it
here if you want though. This was a 'minimalist' run, so I was only Level 13.
I might redo it to get a more dramatic scene for this guide, but I have to go back and see how far before this my last save was.
