Yeah. We had our own round for it until y'all came by and said nope... Brits also had a pretty cool round till the US came and said nope. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/.280_British280 British, nearly the same performance as 7.62x51 but with only 60% the recoil. The demise of the 280 was really sad: the EM-2 and Taden were probably the best weapons system that never was. Although the SLR and GPMG we ended up with were unquestionably decent weapons (well, faint praise: they're indisputably excellent), because of the ammunition requirement they were barely an advance over what went before. Although it could be said that perhaps the UK weapons designers were a bit short-sighted in not considering that the weapons may need to be scaled up to take full-power battle ammunition of the sort from times past, I suspect they hadn't considered that anybody would be idiotic enough to not move with the times and full-auto assault weapons were very obviously the future. Unfortunately they'd reckoned without the US officer whose name I forget (Rene somebody-or-other, I think) but who apparently had a stranglehold on decision-making and who was by all accounts notoriously xenophobic and hopefully out of touch, which combined with a UK government who were equally notoriously bad negotiators, the whole project got canned. :/ Would've been much better for the UK to say "do what you want, but we're doing this anyway", especially considering it didn't take very long for the US to realise the 7.62x51 was a mistake.

Which also lead the US to adopt a slightly improved M1 Garand, the M14, totally overlooking a much better more modern rifle at that time, the FN-FAL / L1A1. I like to speculate that if the intermediate cartridges like the .280 or a similar round would have been adopted the 5.56 Nato and 7.62 Nato would have never been developed and we would still be using rifles and SAW and machine guns chambered in this cartridge. Firearms history would be vastly different.

....but who apparently had a stranglehold on decision-making and who was by all accounts notoriously xenophobic and hopefully out of touchArgh, why do I only spot the ludicrously inappropriate wording after someone has quoted me? D: "Hopelessly", of course. My typing has been annoyingly wayward lately. Part of me kinda likes the M14, but it strikes me as being a bit... well, old, when compared to the likes of the FAL. Not as bad as the M60 compared to the MAG, though: where the MAG got everything right, the M60 managed to get it all wrong. And not an anti-American thing at all considering the MAG is in essence a big belt-fed BAR. The US military did make some odd decisions though, such as eschewing their home-grown Lewis (which went on to be better known as a British and Belgian weapon) in favour of the... Chauchat. :/ Anyway, yeah, if the 280 had made headway there's a very good chance it would still be in use today instead of two calibres which both seemed to miss the mark.

oh wait, did you pick it up from the t-shirt site? Or did you get it from copper customs site? Because they're running that promotion on copper custom's site.
Also, hickock45 had a great idea for the upcoming protest in DC. While they're all protesting against gun ownership, those of us who are pro-gun join at least 1 more gun organization. if your part of the NRA, join the GOA. or do the reverse. If your a part of both, join a local organization.
The goal is to swell organization's numbers, and give them more power to resist the anti-gunners in congress.
he talks about it in here:

Yea, I head about that from the demo ranch channel. I'm actually very afraid of zombies. So I won't be going to see it myself. But I hope anyone who does, has fun!

Zombies are legitimately frightening to me too, especially the runners. But that's why I'm so fascinated with the genre. Most nightmares that have me waking up in the middle of night are about the undead. Apocalypses are scary enough in their own right, but if the dead came back to life to feast upon the living, that's the reason why those movies pull me in as much as they do.

Funny, I too have apocalyptic dreams, unfortunately mine never feature zombies, most of the times I find myself in a hell-version of places I know where everything is burning, the skies are overcast and red with towering piles of rotting corpses everywhere accompanied with a gut wrenching stench. Only the burned cities and skeleton towns are inhabited with malevolent ghostly entities and demons that cannot be harmed by normal means. Guess I'd need an M60 with ammo that has been sprinkled with holy water.

Random curious gun fact of the day: in really low temperatures oil freezes and renders gun useless, which is a well known fact. However, sunflower oil does not freeze and can be very effectively used to make guns that rely on lubrication work in extreme low temperatures.
I read several books about the wars on the eastern front and as long as the firing pins did not break German Machineguns could still be used at temperatures below -40 C or -40F with special oil which turned out to be sunflower oil.
So the next time you fight in Siberia keep a bottle of sunflower oil in your pocket.
The more you know!

About legal gun shops in Kabul, Afghanistan.
The shop they show here has a better shotgun selection than the one nearest to my house. >_<

Come on now, it's the current year, nothing shameful about having some pr0n on the comp and with this convenient uploading on pornhub, you can fap before, after or even during watching a gun vid. Although the one issue that might arise from this is that one might need to elaborate on what kind of "pump action" and lube they saw on there.

Bought a scope ocular rubber eyepiece, I really like those. They help a lot when the sun is behind you shining on the ocular lens which makes aiming much harder. With the cover its nearly impossible for sunlight to reach the lens directly. It also blocks out a lot of the light in front of you reflecting from various surfaces (snow, bright rock). Most helpful when you are shooting in dusk or dawn or in winter when the sun is low and easily creates distracting reflections in your scope. And as a little side effect, they kinda look cool too.
