I'm currently doing JOH and crafted cold resistant armor for my PC and her companions. In addition, I had superb cold resistance belts for them as well. Yet when I check attributes, it never goes above 80% cold resistance. Does this mean that 100% resistance isn't possible? Or if the armor for a character is at 80% there's no point using the cold resistance belt?

80% is the hard cap for all seven defense stats.

80% is the hard cap for all seven defense stats. Thanks. One of those things I should've known but didn't. Does this also apply to the cold resistance potions? Would a companion who already has 80% resistance in his/her armor receive no benefit from the potion? Definitely a factor to think about with respect to accessories and when crafting.

Which is BS, imo, since there are plenty of enemies who are completely immune to all kinds of stuff. We should be able to have 100% defense against at least one thing at a time.

They didn't want players to faceroll through their precious set pieces. But then they created the Golden Nug, so go figure.

Store all schematics from previous PTs? So you could do Tier 3 armor and weapons after you arrive in Haven?

Yes, but it's more than that. dragonage.wikia.com/wiki/Golden_NugYou sync all your collectibles: Schematics, Seeds, Decorations, Mounts, etc., to your account in the cloud. Then you can sync it back to any other character or any other save of the same character. This means you can cheat any merchant with a nice but expensive schematic. You still need to farm the gold, but before buying, you save the game, then buy the schematic, then sync to the Golden Nug, then reload the save, then sync the Golden Nug. Now you have the schematic and all the gold you used to buy it.

Now you have the schematic and all the gold you used to buy it. I remember making a thread about how to do that when it was released! /minor claim-to-fame I also synced each of my characters who had slightly different schematics unlocked so I wouldn't have to buy them.
