I agree with...most of his conclusions.
For all the talk of how powerful Rey is I don't thinnk she is the most powerful or the best at any of her fields.

Anyone else had a chance to look at the "Duel of the Fates" early outline yet? Dunno if the thing's actually real, but it's interesting. the name makes me groan... so no. Well, it\'s only supposed to have been a working title. The draft supposedly comes from a week before Carrie Fisher's death, so it's not like they were close to using it.

I think the prequels did exactly what they wanted. They told the story of how the Empire came to power and how the Jedi were wiped out. I really didn't see much wrong with the foundation, of even the story they were telling. The first one was just to kiddie, and the acting was bad. Kind of like Windows 8.1, runs well, but packaged poorly.
Or a better analogy...

I don't think anyone is saying that she's the best at anything. Only that she's more powerful than she should be for the amount of training she's had, or time she's known she's force sensitive. Even in the video the guy says she does things in Episodes 7 & 8 with no training that even some seasoned Jedi can't. This is where the disconnect is. Some people look at this and say this just shows how powerful she is. While others look at it and say it's completely unrealistic that she can do things with no training that trained Jedi cannot. That she's too strong, too fast.
He also says that after a year of training he would put her in the top 10 force users. ONE year. I guarantee you everyone else he would put on that top 10 list would have had many years, if not decades of training. When he put her on par with Obi-Wan with only a year of training I almost turned the video off. Utterly ridiculous. That's not a testament to how powerful she is, only to how badly they wrote the character.
If Luke was in exile for a decade, it means Kylo had more than a decade of training between Luke and Snoke. But yet he couldn't really best her at any point until midway through episode 9. Even at the beginning of episode 9 he couldn't just pull the transport away from her right away.

It's about time they're recognized Don't celebrate yet. He makes it very clear he still thinks the Prequels were bad. Just finished rewatching the prequels last week, and they are still quite bad. No amount of story/character exposition or understanding will fix that. 😢

It's about time they're recognized The prequel films are still deeply flawed but unlike Disney's sequel trilogy there's a cohesive narrative, consistent characterization and originality. The issue with Nostalgia Critic is in how he handled Disney's trilogy with kids gloves, his review of TLJ being a prime suspect, versus his prequel reviews while reviewers like RLM and Plinkett were outed as frauds once their criticisms that veered from the acting, dialogue and pacing were reexamined.

I found his Obi-wan stuff...eyebrow raising too. But really as great of a swordsman he was we really never saw him do a lot with the Force. He even was at a disadvantage most of the time so he MIGHT have a point.

He even was at a disadvantage most of the time so he MIGHT have a point. Heh. You see a guy at a disadvantage most of the time, I see a man routinely facing ridiculous and overwhelming opposition and surviving every encounter by serving and trusting in the Force while never losing sight of his purpose or his limitations, allowing him to punch way above his weight class and play an instrumental part in shaping history for the better. That's a damn Jedi. Rey doesn't deserve to be mentioned in the same breath. Not for more or less accidentally performing the feats she does while having no relationship with the Force or the Jedi teachings whatsoever beyond wanting to use them to define herself and resolve her parental issues. Sometimes we're a bit too hard on her, but comparing her out loud to Obi-Wan Kenobi is a quick way to get an overview of what everybody had for breakfast. There's no comparison. The idea is borderline offensive.

They were outed as frauds? When? Frauds is a strong word but more like hacks who lacked the talent to break into the industry. Mind you examinations in video and article format of their reviews have been a thing for years. These guys are not professional reviewers like Roger Ebert who was a student of the craft, and are just showmen like Angry Joe yet their critiques are treated as gospel despite the genericism (parroting our grievances from fan sites like Force.net) or focusing on frivolous issues like thinking Boba picked up Jango's helmet with his head still inside when it wasn't, the length of the AoTC's assassination chase scene, the point of Obi Wan meeting his friend at his 50's style diner, or their general lack of understanding of symbolism and what a scene is conveying, the shoddy acting be damned.
