I used to love Spawn and collected some comics but lost my collection due to changes in life.. My all time favorite is always been a little different set though. Peter Madsen Valhalla linkI'm trying to collect it back since I lost them too. Love the style, stories and humor in them.

I truly believe this is the greatest single comic page that ever existed: Everything's great here-- drawing style, the fact that Megs and Optimus Prime work together, and, of course, the Megatron quote ps. Sometimes I dream of backstabbing people, just so I could be nicknamed Starscream I figured that Megatron firmly adheres to the Bro-bot Code, even if Starscream doesn't. "A Bro-bot must always have another Bro-bot's back. No exceptions."Nah, I think Megs gave full explanation on the image above on why he's keeping Starscream around

As much as I enjoy video games and such, my number one fandom is and likely will always be comic books -- from the "standard" superhero fare to the independent works. So who else is a fan? What are you reading now or just recently read? What was your first? What are you loving about the industry right now and what is rustling your jimmies? I'll start by saying that I first got into comics at about 12 or so -- I was at a Borders and I found out that they had a whole section devoted to comics! I was a Batman fan from pretty much birth from the cartoons and movies and such, so I heard good things about one book that particularly caught my eye -- Batman: The Dark Knight Returns. I was enraptured from the start, how it was able to tell darker, more mature stories while still having a fun, energetic story to it. Because of it I've continued to be a fan of Frank Miller's work, even if his personal politics took a turn for the...weird. Still, current him doesn't take away from his amazing work then, thus it's a book I always come back to at least once or twice a year -- I still have that very first copy sitting on my shelf. Something I recently read was the first volume of Alex & Ada -- basically a sci-fi story about a lonely twenty-something who's grandma gets him a companion robot and while he's uncomfortable with "her" at first, he starts a quest to help make her more human. It's a science fiction story that's been done probably a thousand times, but still executed pretty well. The vision of the future felt like it's very possible within the next 30 years, the characters felt very real, and the art, while simplistic and awkward at times, actually works in it's favor when things do get awkward. The real downside is that it basically ends JUST as it starts to get good. But that just makes me eager to see what happens next.

Love comic books, although I'm behind on all my series that I follow. My favorite character (although it may sound cliché and childish) is Spider-Man. Has anyone ever read Invincible from Image? I'm behind, but it's just about the perfect superhero book.

Donald Duck comics by Carl Barks and Don Rosa are maybe the only comics I'm a big fan of. I enjoy many others as well but not just the same way.

Too much political bs involved with em these days but I used to be fond of a few. I preferred Marvel to DC though. I can see that -- I think Marvel's especially gotten bad at that the last few years. Normally I can look past it if it's handled evenly enough (like when Ed Brubaker played a little with the Tea Party during his run on Captain America) and if the story is good enough in and of itself, but nowadays it's gotten especially cringy. Word around the campfire is that this weekend during a convention for comic book retailers is that they've recognized they're alienating too many people and are starting to pull back on the political content and are going to start bringing back more of the classic characters while keeping the new characters they created for diversity in new titles, which is good -- especially since DC is basically beating their ass with their Rebirth line. Love comic books, although I'm behind on all my series that I follow. My favorite character (although it may sound cliché and childish) is Spider-Man. Has anyone ever read Invincible from Image? I'm behind, but it's just about the perfect superhero book. Nothing wrong with that! I dig me some Spidey too -- though honestly I haven't been really into his modern books since One More Day fucked things up. I am curious about Chip Zdarsky's Spidey book coming out, though! I've read Invincible, but I'm way behind on it too. Like, forth or fifth trade behind. For those of you who don't know, that book's amount of trades is in the 20s.

I really like comics- when I had my iPhone a few years ago (I broke up with Apple) and Comixology had an app. That was EPIC. I am not a traditional comic fan and there are many reasons for that- I'm a book reader and I read vast amounts of books. So comics present some challenge for me in a way I find slightly daunting- reading around images and learning how to read the flow of the panels was frustrating- because it seriously slows down how fast I "read" it. Anywhoo- there were few comics I really liked but since that app crapped out and it was purchased (can't remember who bought it out but they ruined it) I haven't picked up comics again. One was Chew- The other was..Y The Last Man on Earth There was a 3rd one but I cannot for the life of me remember the name and that's the other issue. Comics are no joke- if you're an outsider or a noob GLWT. One of my bff's that I talk to daily knows about comics- I'd say she's intermediate level- and I have asked her for how to jump into some comics I thought I might like pretty much to no avail. All the reboots, Jesus. LOVE Chew and Y: The Last Man. I'm a bit behind on Chew, but definitely intend on getting the trades soon now that it's finished, and I'm currently getting the trades of Y since I first read them from my local library. BTW, if you have a library near you, you should definitely take advantage of that for comics. They'll have a lot more than you might think, and they can usually get stuff you want pretty easily. Also, if you have a library card, you can use the site Hoopla to access a LOT of comics. Like, they have all the first volumes of DC's Rebirth trades released so far. Also also, you could try describing the comic here, there's a good chance I'll know or at least have an idea of what it is. The newest versions of Action Comics and Superman is so very good. Superman's...okay. I think I was overhyped for it, because I figured it would be of the same quality as Tomasi/Gleason's Batman & Robin run (which, if you haven't read yet--DO IT, so fucking good), and really, when it isn't dealing with Jon, it's average at best. But Action? Action's just straight up bad. I just don't get why Dan Jurgens still gets work. His work is the epitome of the shitty 90s blandness that nearly killed the industry.

Ill politely disagree but then again, I first got into DC in the 90s, so Jurgens was a staple for me starting out. I love this superman family dynamic. Hope they bring Chris and Kon back someday.

When i was growing up i was a real fan of Storm but my favorite character was Roodhaar ( redhair ) Storms sidekick. she was always well dressed. that was probably the reason I was also a fan of Kuifje ( tintin ) and also the Karl May comics were one of my favorite comic books and Tarzan
