Not really sure if this is the forum to publish this, as it's not about the computer game, but still related to Dragon Age: Has anyone tried out the tabletop RPG? I've been working on a new group, but as this will be our first time playing, I thought I'd ask if anyone ever played it and can give me their impression?
On the one hand, it's a tabletop and not a computer game. On the other hand, it's dragon age, so I'd like to make it as close to the computer RPG as possible. Any suggestions as to how that can be done? I already thought about putting up a "chantry board" with quests and stuff like that.

I only wish Obsidian did a CRPG using DA's tabletop ruleset, but Bioware would rather spoil it further. That's the only thing I have to say.

I've used it a lot, and enjoyed it. There seem to be two broad opinions on the system: either 'there aren't a lot of rules! It's great!' or 'there aren't a lot of rules! It's terrible!'
If your tabletop group love rolling dice for everything and are prone to get bogged down arguing about the finer points of grappling and underwater combat, it's probably not a good system for them. If they love to roleplay and want rules to support that with a few numbers, it's great fun. The stunt mechanic is particularly notable for making combat faster, flashier and less repetitive.
As for how you can make it closer to the cRPG version - maybe consider a plot that has the same broad structure as a standard BioWare game? (By which I mean that there's a introductory section and then the party get to choose which area or quest they tackle first.) Also, if there's room in the party, give them a Mabari. They make great off-tanks and it gives you a GM PC that doesn't annoy everyone by talking.

I'm running a campaign with the tabletop Dragon Age RPG at the moment, with the player characters as Agents of the Inquisition - it's going great and I think the rules system is superb, being simple but effective and evoking the Bioware mechanics. There's an excellent podcast called 'The Wonders of Thedas', the creator of which wrote an interesting piece on coming to the tabletop game from the computer games: wondersofthedaspodcast.wordpress.com/2016/08/15/from-the-tv-screen-to-the-gm-screen/I'd really encourage anyone to check out the Green Ronin website, who publish the tabeltop game.

That's excellent! I'm listening to the podcast right now, very interesting. Will also read the blog. Thanx for that!
