It definitely feels like the calm before the storm and that the hardest and most dangerous is just ahead. The fact that we're only in one cluster in this game solidifies that feeling. In this game we only got hints at how big and dangerous the Kett collective is outside of Heleus, the source of the Scourge, what war the Jaardan were fighting, what the Angara were really built for or can do, and the consequences of Meridian and what exactly it was for (even the Jaardan seemed concerned about it and everything that scientists studying it at the end are learning is really worrisome. Seriously, why are we even settling there)? It feels like the start to an epic saga and it'd be odd to switch gears to someone else considering Ryder still has so much specifically attached to them (the relationship with the Angara, the ability to control Remnant tech, etc) Yep. I'm trying to remind myself that I was also the person who was like, "OF COURSE DA2 is going to star our Warden! Why on Earth wouldn't it?!" and "Her? Mythal? What a random theory." so my track record of prediction is... lacking. Still, I feel like they really went out of their way to highlight "this crew loves you and are your people now" towards the end, like with post-game dialogue (Kallo's struck me but it's been two days and I forget why) and the thing with the other Pathfinders as you "sneak off" or whatever. Jobs? Celebrations? Nah, we're with you, Ryder. So whatevs. Wishful thinking until proven otherwise. Where's all the leftover Team Optimism flags from the Solas thread? Edit: Yeah, definitely wouldn't be the first time I read into something that wound up going nowhere. I never cared half as much as the fandom about the Old God Baby but looking back and caring more about the overall world NOW, I would have. Still. I dream. I'm still on Team Optimism for Solas! Nothing will convince me we're not getting something decently happy until we don't get something xD I've been wrong for every game regarding who would show up and what would happen, so maybe you can take solace in the fact that I think we won't have our crew past DLC. If my track record stays true and I'm wrong again, it'll work out in our favor xD

Also, I'm enjoying MEA and I'll definitely be playing it a few times, but tbh I'm not sure what I can do to make those playthroughs different from my first one, apart from giving my Ryder different looks. Are there actually any choices that substantially alter the story in any way? I'm kind of afraid I'll get bored halfway through my second one, the way it happened with DAI. Just not enough variation for such a long game. Theres not much nope. Im with the 2nd pt and I play like an hour per 2 days. I want to romance Jaal but the game being that long is boring xD

It's certainly nice to see races other than the asari forming interspecies relationships. Yeah now we've seen a male Turian with a female Angara, a male Angara with an Asari, a male Krogan and a female Angara and our own human pathfinder with Jaal. would be nice to see a human xD

zambixi that's probable. I think one of the problems with possibly bringing back Ryder as a protagonist again would be the significant number of romance options. In ME1 there were three and they were pretty much absent in ME2 to make way for a bunch of new ones, and then in ME3 the sheer number of them led to quite a mess (forgetting about Thane, the Jacob disaster, etc.) I doubt they'd want to repeat that. So I'm kind of expecting a new protag for MEA2. As for the plot, we'll have to wait and see. Regarding Hawke I don't think it will be anything important seeing as they can also die in the fade. Probably just a cosmetic cameo in DA4 if anything.

Ahhh thank you. I am done with food drabbles for now though haha. Two is quite enough. Probably. Though there are so many things for Jaal to try.

Eh, this would be a tough one to beat anyway...might as well master a different subject now that you've "beat" food lol. Anyway whatever you write, I'm excited to read it xD

Definitely much easier. I'm pretty excited to bite into something meatier though with my next work. Though I'll probably descend into fluff halfway through because I'm weak, apparently. Also thanks so much everyone. I'm pretty pleased with that one.

You know it's funny how much Jaal is basically utterly nobody yet has the most character than anyone else in the game lol

Just not enough variation for such a long game. I actually thought the same thing. However I thought it'd be fun to play as the brother this time around and have the sister look exactly like my character so I could get bonus screenshots of her in the opposite role. Would be a fun way to confuse people. =p

You know it's funny how much Jaal is basically utterly nobody yet has the most character than anyone else in the game lol He benefits from being the emissary of the new species. Mass Effect 1 had a problem with squaddies infodumping about their species; Tali was basically a quarian codex entry. They did a much better job of this in Andromeda, where you learn about angara as a species concurrently with Jaal the person.

It was nice not to skip his convos like I did with Tali, because it was too much a history lesson and less about her.

I just remembered I was going to ask - @beautesombre I've been dragging Jaal across Kadara for a while now and he doesn't seem to complain all that much? Other than deeming it too spiky once. Is it my banter bug, should he be whining every five seconds?

Is it my banter bug, should he be whining every five seconds? Um... he complained 3 times to me, then chatted with Vetra. I remember him bitching about the water and Sara asking if she should have left him on the Tempest, then he said everything is pointy and commented on how filthy the port was. The worst is in the bar. He is so annoying there, and you can tell him to shut up.
