We all know, the sword (and all its sub-variants), either the one handed or two handed version has always been the crowds favorite in games and movies . Nearly all the protagonists in famous stories and movies wield a sword, the most legendary and magical weapons are swords - but what about all the other poor sidelined weapons that existed in the medieval arsenal?
Thats what this poll is all about.
Note: there is no specific battle scenario, simply choose what you like best for your own reasons. Also, I only listed the most common miscellaneous weapons and simplified things a little bit, there is tons more, and many sub-variants but there is not enough space.

Why do you force me to choose? God damnit.
I'd have to go with the flail.

Quarterstaff all the way!! it will dent the hell out of those plate armors and bruise anyone in chain armour. Not to mention is cheap and easy to make compare to other weapons, it can be used both ends, its pretty long and makes enemies underestimate you because ''its just a stick''
one of my favorite weapons in chivalry medieval warfare as well.
When i have time ill get photos of weapons from my trip to Malbork (biggest Teutonic order castle) when i have time.

To answer my own question, I've always been a fan of Flanged Maces in combination with a large shield. I even own a mace replica. When i have time ill get photos of weapons from my trip to Malbork (biggest Teutonic order castle) when i have time. I have tons of photos from the museum of art & history in Vienna. I spent an entire day there, closely examining all the wonderful original weapons and armors, it was wonderful.

Given that my experience with medieval weaponry has been solely limited to video games, I'll be partial to my experience with weapons in them over historical accuracy. And in games, I've always been a fan of finding the biggest stick I can find and beating the enemies to a pulp with them. So I went with the mace preferably a huge two handed version, kinda like Velstadt from dark souls 2; Also a real life example as well;

Voted flanged mace, since that's what I use in SCA Heavy Combat. Flails as you're probably picturing them weren't real, so it kinda triggers me to see them winning.

I'm partial to the Japanese Kusarigama(Chain-Sickle), which is a sickle with a chain tying it to an iron weight; how this function is that the operator would spin the chain overhead and then throw it at his opponent and either entangle his legs, arms or weapon and then follow up with sickle strikes. s19.postimg.org/m5i9xmy6b/20130930_4322fc.jpgMore examples of it here

Flails did exist, there were some specimens of that weapon in the museum I've been to some years ago, though I realize they were relatively rare weapons and they do not look like in RPG's. A lot of them were -design wise- closely related to the the corn flail, an old agricultural tool.

And since I mentioned it, here's some armor porn. My mace, bastard sword, shield, Wisby coat of plates, clamshell gauntlets, splinted bracers, elbow cops, vaguely Norse "cheap" helm, mail gorget and shield. I haven't gone about registering a coat of arms yet, and I'm a bad, bad artist, so my shield is simply painted with the badges of my Barony and Kingdom as of right now.

Big two-handed flails similar to the agricultural implement in that painting were devastating cavalry weapons, but the one handed ones like you see in movies were, IIRC, a Victorian invention, like I lot of things we believe are medieval.

War hammer. It's basically to swords what armor piercing is to high explosive.

Shield! Saves your life and you can also hit people in the face with it.
But I went with one-handed axe because shield wasn't on there.... And an axe and a shield look damn cool and were fairly effective.

Halberd.
I think it would suit me in a combat situation in Medieval Europe. I get the range of the spear, the piercing and crushing power of the ax/war hammer all in one stately package that can double for anti cavalry duty.

Beetle and I hammered that one out, big ones most definitely existed, but there is no significant proof of small ones meant to be wielded on the ground.

The simple spear for me.
I like to bait and punish missteps and spears allow me to do that better than anything else.
