I'm looking to buy my first desktop computer (after previously owning gaming laptops, MSI brand to be specific) before MEA comes out. I've narrowed it down to Lenovo y900-34 series but there are 3 variations of it and I don't know which is best.
I don't really know that much about computers (I try to read up every time I buy a new one though) so I'd really appreciate the help.
Please don't tell me to build my own computer, I don't think I can do it. I'm going to try and upgrade this once it gets older but I'm hesitant to start from scratch...
They all share:
Intel Z170 625 W Minitower GeForce GTX 1080 8192 MB 1000 GB HHD 256 GB SSD Intel Core i7 6700K 4 GHz Intel Socket 1151
The only differences I can see are the type of graphic memory (don't know if that is correct, I translated it straight from Swedish) and amount of RAM (all are DDR4).
Option 1: GDDR5. 4 slots for RAM, two are already taken, Total RAM: 16 GB, MAX capacity: some pages don't say, others say 64 GB. Price: 19990 SEK ( about 2241 USD).
Option 2: GDDR5. 4 slots for RAM, two are already taken, Total RAM: 32 GB, MAX capacity: 64 GB. Price: 19990 SEK (about 2241 USD).
Option 3: GDDR5X. 4 slots for RAM, three are already taken, Total RAM: 24 GB, MAX capacity: some pages say 32 GB others 64 GB. Price: 20990 SEK (about 2353 USD)
Questions:
1) I've tried looking at graphics card and haven't seen any GTX 1080 with anything else than GDDR5X... is it a typo that the other two lack the X or is it accurate?
2) How much difference does it make if it's GDDR5 or GDDR5X?
3) The RAM seems good for all options. Would there even be a need to upgrade the RAM with option 2? If there was, would you be able to without replacing the old RAM cards (since two taken slots with 32 GB means I'd need 16 GB sticks but I haven't seen any and I've heard the amount of GB in each RAM stick should match...)?
4) I'm leaning toward option 2, is that a good value for my money (keep in mind that computers in my country seem to be a bit more expensive than USA/GB)?
5) Does anyone have any experience with this computer (most of the reviews I found were about the GTX 970 version)? Any problems with it?
Thanks for any help!

The price tag is a little high, but it is a high spec machine.... You definitely would do better building your own, but only by a couple hundred dollars.
Yes, to upgrade your RAM, you would end up removing the old sticks and replacing them with larger volumes, and yes they should match.

I mean if the GDDR5/GDDR5X is a typo or doesn't matter... As for the price... I'm not confident in my ability to build a computer on my own from scratch (even though it would be the best option). I'm open to suggestions for other high spec computers but not all are available in my country and I'm a bit cautious about importing something like this...

To me, it is just a question of cash. You will replace this card before you replace the entire machine, so maybe go with regular GDDR5

Thanks for your answer. Is option 2 the "best" of these? I mean if the GDDR5/GDDR5X is a typo or doesn't matter.. ok, so it does seem to matter. Then there are GTX 1080 graphic cards with only GDDR5? Then maybe option 3 is better even though it's more expensive?

To me, it is just a question of cash. You will replace this card before you replace the entire machine, so maybe go with regular GDDR5 So the specs of this machine can handle something like the Titan card without replacing anything more?

Thanks for your help! I don't know much about computers so I tried googling what's good (like RAM, graphics cards etc) but my understanding about it is very superficial so I don't really have a clue how it all works together.
