*** BIOTIC WHINERS THREAD ***

So I just played as a vanilla Asari Adept in a room full of Tech.  There was a Tsent spamming Overload, an AIU spamming Snap Freeze, and a Batarian Soldier spamming Inferno Grenades.

Well, SMART ones would have been.  These guys just kinda mopped the floor with their faces, but when they weren't doing that, they were using Tech Powers.

My solo protocol for say, a Scion or Praetorian, would go like this:

Warp > Shoot Wraith with Warp Ammo > Shoot Wraith with Warp Ammo > Hide Reload with Throw (Biotic Explosion) > Repeat

Well it happened in ME3MP, and it will happen in MEAMP, players will cry that Tech Primers Overwrite Biotic Primers.  They have their little hearts set on a Biotic Explosion, and then a Tech Burst happens.  Or a Fire Explosion.  Or a Cryo Explosion.  And they feel small and inadequate and come to the forums to complain, and suggest bullshit changes to the game, such as completely segregating Tech and Biotic, removing what little interactivity they have.

First these people need to understand how Primers work.  Your Biotic Primer does NOT get "Overwritten" by a Tech Primer.  It goes on a Stack, and the most recent Primer applied is at the top of the Stack.  When the target is hit with a Detonator, whether it be Tech or Biotic, the Stack resolves from top to bottom, and the Detonator will detonate the first valid Primer it finds.  This means that if you Primed it with Warp, and Joe Turian hits it with Overload, then you Throw, since Throw will Detonate both Tech and Biotic Primers, it will find the Overload first, and Detonate that.  (See Footnote 1)

This is what people cry about, and there is a very simple solution to this, one which does not require drastic, sweeping changes to the game and interactivity of the various Powers.  Are you ready for it?  Here it is:

Throw again.

That's really it!  It is that motherfucking simple.  If you do your Biotic Detonator, and you get a Tech combo, do your Detonator a second time.  It's not rocket medicine.

I just one-clipped a Scion with that team, because we had so many Primers going on it.  I did my solo protocol, but teammates arrived in the interrim.  This is how it actually went down:

Warp > Shoot Wraith with Warp Ammo > Shoot Wraith with Warp Ammo > Throw (Fire Explosion) > Throw Again (Cryo Explosion) > Throw Again > Biotic Explosion

Scion didn't know what hit him.  It was amazing.

(Footnote 1:  If your Detonator is something like Reave, it doesn't interact with Tech.  So it would skip past Overload on the Primer Stack, since it can't Detonate it, continue down the Stack and find Warp, which it CAN interact with, and it would Detonate that.  Your Warp Primer did not get erased, it was still there all along.  Additionally, Biotic Primers have long durations, meaning you have ample time to Detonate the Stack to get down to them eventually.)
