Given that we've had 2 Krogan on our team before and this didn't happen to them I imagine it probably wont in ME:A either.
BioWare's style to try to give credibility to an enemy is to have them beat your squad as a whole. Collectors in ME2 blew up the Normandy, Reapers in ME3 blew up Earth, Corypheus in DA:I blew up Haven, etc.
I'd be more worried if I were the Tempest at this point, honestly.
