Still can't stand the way quests, items and enemies are leveled in Wild Hunt. Nothing worse than waiting to wear beautiful armor or fight an awesome miniboss or start a cool quest because some weird system has arbitrarily decided that you must be exactly this strong before you're allowed to get at them. First time I played I upgraded some witcher armor to the next level I wasn't able to use yet, then wondered what happened to the armor I was wearing. Not realizing, the lower level version was a required element for the upgrade.

Mhm. I wasn't a huge fan of the reliance on diagrams and crafting for quest rewards in TW2, and Wild Hunt just runs away with it. I just dismantled my Griffin swords to craft the Feline ones I'd just qualified for, as well as the pants, boots and gloves to retain the light armor talent bonus from those. Couldn't conscience putting on the chestpiece since it looks like a damn t-shirt and becomes available just as you're about to sail for the frozen islands. Which is just brilliantly thought-out. Figure I'll hunt down the Ursine chestpiece first thing, since it's the only one of the witcher chests that looks even remotely cool in its basic form and I'll be able to wear it in one level with the Wolven Hour potion, hoping the game doesn't forcibly undress me between levels 18 and 20. Ugh. It's so stupid. Couldn't they at least have lowered the level requirements? The mastercrafted Feline armor only becomes available in the last second before the ending IF you've completed most of the side quests, and getting the Wolf or Ursine ones by then without farming is pretty much impossible. What's the point of that? The weird MMORPG approach to leveling is seriously the main thing that drags the game down. It's a masterpiece otherwise.

I just finished doing that a couple days ago. I needed the gold.
Which makes me wonder, does loot level with the player? I'm pretty sure if I'd grabbed all that smuggler loot back at level 25 the haul wouldn't have been nearly as profitable as it was at level 53.

Loot level with the player (less or more, you can still end up with stuff lower or higher level than you).

Enjoying my completionist playthrough. All quests, armor sets, expansions and Gwent (with no fast travel, except between regions). Seriously though - whaaaat?! That's amazing! How long does that take? I'm on my first W3 run and have no idea what I'm doing. The mere thought of a completionist PT is ... too much xD Right now, I try to do all the quest and contracts that fit my level and that's already WAY too much. Additionally... - I am obviously a donkey and can't figure out how to win Gwent reliably
- Geralt runs around in a mismatched clowns' outfit because I have no clue where to get stuff
- I run away from question marks as I am afraid they have OP monsters
- I make Geralt do loads of acrobatics, as in he rolls around frantically because I suck at melee
- I make Geralt collect beer unintentionally
tl;dr: I really love the game.

Go Northern Realms, is the by far the the beefiest and easiest to win with deck just with sheer volume. Its not quite as potent as say Nilfgaard but erm well that has to do with spies and other beefy cards winning the day through shrewd positioning. Another issue with it being used by someone who doesn't get Gwent is that its reliant more so on a very limited pool of cards to achieve victory else you might starve yourself in the next rounds.

Exactly this, and there is always an excuse to play Gwent (once) with each new vendor you find. Just starting the first expansion, so more cards to collect. Got all the base set (a <2% completed Xbox achievement, apparently). But did you investigate every ? in Skellige? Sure. (*) The underwater chests have handy crafting materials. (*) ok, there is one island with a much higher level Draconid that I will come back to later.

Love Toussaint too, I love the sunny setting like Act 3 of the first Witcher (can't remember the name of the location) or Anvil in Oblivion. I like how you can play a dark fantasy game without needing snow, fog, swamps, ... First time around I was actually annoyed at them cranking the color saturation up like that. I got that it was supposed to make the region feel like paradise on a fundamental level, but it just looked unrealistic. Then my baby sister went on vacation to Naples and I had the exact same reaction to the photos she brought home from a vineyard she'd visited. Sometimes living in a perpetually drab and cloudy region really messes with your perspective. It's important to travel. Can't wait to get there now. See Geralt toasting in the sun with his lady love on a garden sofa while freezing my ass off in the dead of winter. Or maybe drop Triss after all and spend that time lounging around with Ciri instead. Kovir is cold af, right? I already disappointed one sorceress this playthrough... #SingleDadGeralt

The lighting mods for Toussaint are solid, but every one I've tried for the main game end up being highly inconsistent based on region and time of day. I finally gave up on it.
