Team AI is a complete joke. Needs a LOT of polishing before release.

Yep, the entire AI in this game is stupid. Did you see that fiend in the last gameplay trailer? He was utterly useless. And did you see that ket soldier who was running on the spot because he was stuck against an invisible barrier? This is probably the worst AI I've ever seen in a game. No wonder the game sucks.

I've been worried since the other video and this one just reinforced my bad impressions.

The difference is I only bitch about important issues. I don't care about the facial animations. The core gameplay - what makes this a game for me, is completely broken for the most part.

I could talk about the MASSIVE amounts of hand-holding (worse than DAI and TW3), the silly and chippering banter on alien worlds which makes zero sense, the obnoxious UI, the cover system, the animations, and the list goes on and on and on. But I'm focusing on what I think is important.

Obviously final verdict will have to be rendered with the full game. But that doesn't mean these concerns are completely baseless.

I'd recommend approaching this with a little forethought and an open mind, not scorn and derision or doom and gloom for that matter.

Bad AI has been the norm, but at least you got to use their powers to compliment your play style for cool synergy during combat.

Now they're literally just meat shields.

The game has already gone gold, the footage we get should reflect that. Why would IGN grab their footage from an old, buggy build, and most importantly, why would BioWare let them?

Promotion is al lso we have som egameplay to ponder over and consider. It's not perfect I agree but it's something tha twe didn't have before it's a chance to see the game at work and I like that.

It says "Pre-release footage" in the video in the very beginning as well.

That said, the team AI doesn't look like deep thought or that other chess computer by any means. Does it bother me? No. I've never been able to use my squad in any form or fashion in the other BW games other than meat shields... so this isn't an important selling point for me, nor is it a point to disregard the game as a pile of goo. If you want to do that, be my guest since that is your right. Same for me, it's my right to not care about your points.
