A lot to say on delays. Look no further than FF15 to see how delays can both help and hinder design. How original concepts and inspiration points get muddied up along the way.
I for one think Bioware should have taken on a delay of 6 months to at least clean up animations and hopefully resolve loading issues. Those two things can go a long way with someone's experience.
But I can hear you say "it's just loading and a few bugs, who cares". My response: First impressions MATTER. Game reviews matter! Sales matter! Get it right the first time or don't release. Whatever happened to "We'll release it when it's done".

I don't think a delay would have helped the fundamental problems I have with the game (animations and character models). It may have helped with bugs, but I really haven't encountered many anyway. Just two graphical errors and one sound issue. That's not bad for ten hours in an open-world game pre-release. I had more with Skyrim and The Witcher 3.
No, I think they needed to get this out in the wild to see the reaction, then try to fix the game based on that. How anyone approved those character models is beyond me, and those animations...christ! But approved they were. No amount of polish would fix those two items, so a delay wouldn't help. They need to re-do those.

This thread has been vindicated. I can't believe even DAI (utter shite) is doing better than this game. Bioware can't into open worlds! Period. They just can't. They fail miserably at it. Vindicated you

Well, if 5 years are not enough... Or the budget wasn't enough. Something wasn't working.

Whatever happened to "We'll release it when it's done". This is what killed my fun. 10-12 hours in and I have no desire to continue. There is no hook or pull. Its just about everything I didn't want, or was told I wasn't going to get. That upsets me as a consumer. Its such a gross feeling seeing how unfinished and not ready this game is, and then playing it. Even DA2 and ME3, 10-12-20 hours I wanted to keep going. I was usually hooked by hour 2-3. By hour 2-3 here I was getting angry and bored I couldn't save my progress and just quit out to MP.
