Agreed I said that in my previous post. It's just pointless to bash BW for D1 bugs. It's bound to happen, it's the reality of modern day gaming. Ideally one should review a developer product not at release but when the last content/patch is released. I wish reviewers would do that, like release a score for the final product with a detailed description on the lenght the devs went to address the issues of their games and the state of said game after the final patch. That would be quite telling of the professionalism of the devs. Bugs have been in games all along, I can't remember it fully since its been so long, but there was a NES game that needed a weapon to defeat a boss that didn't drop until after you beat a boss later in the game. There just seem to be more because games have become a lot more complex over the years and for some reason people are less likely to accept anything but perfection anymore. Oh they'll accept it, they'll just bitch about it endlessly online.

I think the issue is more that it's Bioware, a company that is under a lot more scrutiny than other companies. Remember that they moved to doing semi open world type games after the success Skyrim and I am sorry but those kinds of games pretty much always release buggy as hell. I bought skyrim in the first week and two hours in I ran into a bug that made me have to remake my character and start again. Many of the bugs in that game are still in that game unless you play with mods that fix them, but nobody cares because it is expected of Bethesda. Just like the release of Fallout 4 which was even worse, A few people cared but then the worst of it was fixed and everyone forgot. Even the Witcher 3 was apparently quite buggy on release, Inquisition was a mess. This game is just going to release with bugs, hopefully it wont be that bad and if it is hopefully most of them will be patched out soon after release. It is a shame about reviews though, but that is EA's fault for not giving them enough time to fix bugs and polish (tho I imagine that takes ages for a game this big). Maybe as this is all pre-release footage the final product will not be anything like as bad as what we have seen but I kinda doubt it. If it was so much better I don't think they would have released that gameplay footage. Delaying it forever isn't really an option either, this is still a business, EA has a right to decide how and when it is released. I think maybe we need to wait and see how quickly the issues in the game are patched, for me that matters more when it comes to games with so much content. Unfortunately, companies like Bioware and Blizzard make a blockbuster, then the expectations of some people are unrealistically high. Some people hang on every word they say and expect their next episode to be as epic as their first love or something. Realistic people (like myself) realize there are deadlines to be made, there are mouths to feed, there are bills to pay so they just can't sit on a game until it pleases EVERYONE. Realistic people know that no matter what, EVERYONE will not be pleased, and there will still be some that will NEVER be pleased anyway. IMHO, all the game has to do is please a majority and sell enough to warrant another episode. If that happens, then Bioware has done their job just fine.

5 years!
5 years is a lot of time, and i'm sure MEA is not finished or, not polished and 100% working the way it should, and it ill be released no matter what
yes, we will encounter lots of bugs, (PB's Pistol pointing at her face) etc, in SP and MP as well
hopefully the patch / patches will fix those technical problems

No almost nothing is. The rule should be is it fun? Is it playable? And the peebee bug for all its amusingness does not take away from the fun factor or the playable one. May even enhance it.

They most likely couldn't delay anymore. EA probably gave them a set date and said that they had to get it out no matter how complete it is by the 21st.

At some point in time you just have to release the game. You can't go on working on it forever or the underlying technology behind it becomes obsolete as does the hardware its to run on.
It's topics like these that gave the reputation of being toxic on each of the bioware forums. I'd expect to see something like this on reddit
Judge a game after it has been released not before based on a few trailers where some people say they look weird.

I really wish people would stop saying 5 years. We don't know how long ME:A has been in development for. Just because ME3 release March of 2012, doesn't mean they immediately began work on Andromeda afterward.

So if I had to guess, ME:A probably went into full production either later 2013 or early 2014. That's my guess. Either way, people keep saying they had 5 years developing this game, when it's more likely it was 3-4.

Even though the Devs mentioned more time spent, you know there was a lot of brainstorming and story building before actual code was being written. Colfoley, so how many years have you been a Dev for Bioware? You seem to know how long it takes to publish a game. Watching Grandma's Boy doesn't make you a Developer. I always wonder why so many armchair Devs that tell the world how easy it is to make perfect bug free games with epic storylines aren't out there making those epic games themselves. Oh yeah, that's right, it's easy to make these claims while someone else is the one having to put in the time and do the job. Too many know it all critics.

I don't know how long it takes to develop a game, I was not saying I did. All I was saying whether it is 2,3, 4, 5 years they have had a lot of time to develop this game. And thus, it should be released, bugs and all. Not saying the game is perfect but there comes a point where a game will be pretty much as perfect/ playable and should be sent out the door. I think Andromeda has reached that point.

One of the major differences between this game and ME1 through ME3 is that MEA is using a completely different engine. ME1-3 used the Unreal engine 3. Everything has to be done from the start since they changed to the Frostbite engine. Bioware doesn't have the luxury of using an existing template and making a few changes. After ME1, the time taken to develop ME2 and ME3 was mostly story telling.
ME1 itself took 3.5 years to develop. ME1 came out in 2007. ME2 in 2010 and ME3 in 2012.
I think Bioware worked hard to complete this game in the allotted time and we will soon find out if MEA is well done. I think EA pushed them and if there is any huge bugs, I will blame EA.

...and I misunderstood what you meant and retracted part of my statement and apologized. You are typing so fast, lol. lol. I do that, and appology accepted. I mean from all the things I have seen the game is pretty much ready to go. Any of these miniscule bugs they can just crush post release and the only big concern I have/ had on terms of the game's 'polish' was the facial animations but the more I see from them, the more I think they are just fine. The facial animations that I watched in the two twitch live steams nothing about them leapt out at me as especially bad and even an improvement of some of the other stuff we have seen.

I expect the next chapter to be more polished, but I also expect a lot of patches to improve this game as the first few months progress.

I really wish people would stop saying 5 years. We don't know how long ME:A has been in development for. Just because ME3 release March of 2012, doesn't mean they immediately began work on Andromeda afterward. Except BioWare has said they started development on the game right after Mass Effect 3. According to a blog entry on the BioWare website in 2013 they were already well into development on Mass Effect: Andromeda's planning and development. Source

Just because ME3 release March of 2012, doesn't mean they immediately began work on Andromeda afterward. Well the devs have said it was five years. I have a feeling they're spitballing with that. I'm sure early concepts and ideas were being worked on for "Mass Effect 4" after ME3 came out, but I don't think Andromeda went into full blown production until much later. I mean Andromeda wasn't even a thought when ME3 came out. They said it themselves at the time that they had no real future plans for the series.

It already was delayed It was originally set for holiday 2016 Right but that doesn't mean it shouldn't have been delayed again. I mean they did say Spring 2017, so they could've released in early June.
