That Reaper from ME2's ending...

There was a thread about the proto reaper on the old bsn

My theory is that someone at Bioware just finished watching the terminator movies and thought it would be cool if Shepard were to fight a giant terminator.

I like to know why it had 3 eyes since humans have two eyes?

Obviously it's because ascended humans have 3 eyes.

Or they were playing Contra 3 during development and got the idea from that.

In the artbook for ME BW stated that the first design was a Reaper in an embryo image, but they didn't think that looked menacing enough, so they changed it to the one we got.
And the form of it is just the core, the outer shell of this Reaper would've still looked like the ones we know, that was said by Mac Walters in an interview.

I think the embryo would've been pretty cool, because it would kinda symbolise the innocence of the harvested people and would make it even more sick that way.
But I don't mind the design so much. Reapers make my eyes roll all the time anyway, especially Harby

IMHO, Mass Effect is more of a Space Fantasy than Science Fiction(think Star Wars vs. Star Trek). Also, it seems Bioware has been ramping up the sex, while toning down on the violence. I would like to see dismembered limbs and heads that explode on a successful headshot.

It's funny, because they abandoned a lot of themes of ME1 when creating ME2.
Then they did it AGAIN and abandoned the proposed themes of ME2 when creating ME3.

I will not even quote anything of "Arrival", because then things go downhill fast.

They even had proprer writers in the game, unlike Bethesda, who makes the game level designer write their stories.
It's a shame, really.

Nah, many had issues with this (myself included). It's been frequently criticised since it happened.
