Here's female Iron Man, who isn't just female, but also black with a huge afro (how's that ever gonna fit on that helmet?) and a teenager... No way! The horror! Theres She-Venom, she isnt just female, shes also black AND has claws, its just... wow It just bothers me so much She looks like she'll be awesome Admittedly I havent been watching the show long, Id heard of it but never ever seen it until my now-fiancée asked me if I wanted to watch a show about an old guy who lives in a box who lures young women and gives them an adventure of a lifetime I havent seen any of the more recent series, she said they were bad and not worth watching, the most recent thing I saw was the doctor regenerating and he turned into an old guy so... idk, I think Missy would be the only reason Id watch the more recent ones... or River Song She definitely seems good for the part from what (little) ive seen... I have literally no idea why its a controversial thing for an alien who can literally become someone else to become a woman er one time out of I-have-no-idea-how-many like chances are it would have happened like five or more times already so eh, but its the expected people so I hope they pick up where Matt Smith (?) left off, with the music and the tone and things, although just the music would be good it was very fun for me to watch, although the one before him was amazing too I dont recognize her, which is going with the general trend of things... the only doctor I recognized as an actor was the first one I saw because he was in the GI Joe movie, I also recognized Amy Pond because she was in Guardians of the Galaxy, and Rory because he went on to lead the Legends of Tomorrow (a crossover between Legends of Tomorrow and Doctor Who would be like the best thing) My main question would be basically: The Doctor and River are er... I dont know what they are, kinda a couple??? Will there be a kissing scene??? Because that would just be the BEST... although unlikely Hey. Yeah it's gonna be great to see her in the role huh? The reason why the recent series weren't that great is pretty much because of the showrunner, Steven Moffat. He's not that great at it imo. Good news though, he's leaving and a new showrunner is taking over, and the show is about to be shaken up and have some new life breathed into it with the first female Doctor, so it's a great time to start watching. The Doctor and River's story is kinda done i guess? I'm not sure they'll meet again, they might though, and that would be lovely to see what happens. Well I know shell end up in the library and die EVENTUALLY (although I hope the doctor will save her when the time comes), but like... I want her to be in the show forever because shes amazing

Over the course of the last 4 series I thought most episodes were boring, except for a few, and those few always happened to be written or co-written by Moffat. My favorite Dr. Who episode ever, 'Don't Blink!' was written by Moffat. And another episode that blew me away was that two-parter with Capaldi's doctor stuck in hell/limbo with that demonic creature hunting him down through a castle. That stuff was amazing and also co-written by Moffat.
I love that episode, even though the weeping angels terrify me haha
I also love Army of Ghosts/Doomsday, and The Pandorica Opens/The Big Bang, and probably others that I cant remember the name of

She's in a virtual world and she's safe. EDIT: And the last time we saw her was at the singing towers and after that she went to the library, that's kinda it. Although she did communicate with Matt Smith's doctor from the hard drive.

But she sacrificed herself to stop everyone dying, or...i can't remember but it was pretty important to do that. She has to do it. I don't know how the Doctor could get her out of that.

Female Wolverine (although X-23 had been around for some time prior) X-23 isn't female Wolverine though. Sure, she donned his costume for a while but for the most part she has been her own person who happened to have the same powers as Logan due to her being a clone of him. Here's female Iron Man, who isn't just female, but also black with a huge afro (how's that ever gonna fit on that helmet?) and a teenager... I find it kind of amusing to say "She's not a female version of Wolverine! She's just a genetic clone of him...that's female...and wore his costume for a while."
As for the afro, despite the impression you may have gotten from Bioware games, hair is malleable. You see plenty of NFL players with long, luxurious hair or big afros. And I'm not super familiar with the character, but from what I've gleamed, her background is also quite distinct from his. She doesn't share any of the "hates his father" baggage of Tony Stark and has her own thing in being a young hero being mentored by an AI version of Tony Stark.

Sorry if I sound like I'm fighting it, I don't mean to. I would absolutely love it if River and the 13th Doctor met, and if River tells the Doctor she still loves her because she's still her Doctor. It's just that I think River's sacrifice is a fixed point, and remember what happened when River changed a fixed point? (not shooting the Doctor and the universe started falling apart) But If 13 can find a way, she should totally go for it.

A female Doctor is Feminazi pandering. The twelve previous white male protagonists were just good storytelling. Politics has no place in art! It's not in Orwell's novels, it's not in Shakespeare's plays and it has definitely NEVER been in Doctor Who, a show about a man who travels through time and space examining and correcting systemic injustice. What's next? Are the Daleks going to be turned into a thinly veiled metaphor for proponents of racial superiority and ethnic cleansing? Is the next companion going to be a black lesbian? Don't make me laugh! Anyone who disagrees with me is just a pathetic, attention-seeking, SJW, special-snowflake crybaby! Now excuse me while I harass the showrunners and actors on their various social media platforms. A perfect impression, Panda. It's uncanny.

I think we're starting to go down the old familiar culture debate here. Of course, it's hard to separate the two in this instance... You can't go one way without upsetting the other.

That wouldn't work. 1) the Teselecta is an android and it wouldn't fulfill the function of brain uploading, and 2) it would kill the crew of the Teselecta. I don't see River allowing that, or the Doctor allowing her to allow it.

She was also not created by regressives and she wasn't created solely to pander to regressive millennials. That's the difference.

Well, humanity is defined by both it's triumphs and failures, so I'm kinda glad that happened. Would be a bit disappointing if it didn't.

Then when I go for a buzzcut, all of the sudden my helmet fits rather loosely. Hell, I even notice the difference between a lot of hair v.s buzzcut with my baseball caps.

Also, how can you not see how fucking stupid it is that some teenage wonder child replaces a multi-billionaire senior nuclear scientist, and somehow manages to be his equal if not his superior? That, if anything, irked me way more than Iron Heart (what a dumb name tbh) being a black woman with an afro. To be honest, they should have made Pepper replace Tony Stark. Now she would have been an Iron Woman I'd support. And she's already an established and beloved character. But that would make too much sense and that would have been too cool and we can't have that of course. I mean, we all know that casting white women isn't "progressive" enough anymore these days, prophet Anita said so. It has to be a black, trans and preferably lesbian woman, and above all it has to piss off the old guard / traditional fans.

So, basically, you're thinking that you're a victim here because Marvel decides to try a new spin on a character? I'd find it understandable if I didn't know that you're also the person who is blaming other fans of the character who are excited for the change and hoping they get 'victimized'. Why, aren't you a special snowflake?
