Hey all, Early in the fall I started looking for live streamers who had a full playthrough of the ME trilogy that I could put on and watch in the background while doing other things (school work, working out, etc.). I found a channel called farfromsubtle and a group called Video Games Awesome. I'm sure some of you know it. Before long, I fell in love with the whole concept of watching full playthoughs of games while I multi-task, and have watched a large chunk of their archived videos. www.youtube.com/channel/UCNUx8bzoHniTZ3hp-UfA4OQNow, I'd recommend them for anyone else who enjoys watching full or partial playthroughs of a huge variety of games; but first, a few caveats. I have a love/hate relationship with them, which almost exclusively falls on the lead guy: Fraser. When he's in a good mood, he can be hilarious and give good commentary. When he's frustrated or angry, he becomes a whiny, little <sorry> biatch. Fair warning! Don't watch if you don't have a tolerance for someone unfairly ripping apart your favourite games due to his own inadequacy or carelessness! It's also not a great place to go for impartial impressions of games. Fraser's biased AF, Becky (#2) falls in line behind him, and the other three members are only occasionally on now. With those two things in mind, I hope you enjoy them as much as I do. So, who are other great streamers out there for watching Let's Plays?

I go to CohhCarnage for full GP. Streaming games is his full time job and he does it eight hours every day, morning / afternoon. He's open to suggestions / hints from viewers unlike some streamers who put their foot down very hard. Example; I was watching a streamer playing Uncharted and he was stuck in a small area. He went round and round it for nearly 10 minutes, going back and forth. I ventured a suggestion he could try looking in a certain direction; I got tired of the fruitless backtracking. I had never played the game so I myself didn't know the area. The mod shut me up. I left not long after because I didn't want to sit around watching that guy on his dodo run. A waste of my time.
However, that doesn't mean Cohh invites blatant spoilers / backseat drivers. If the suggestion can improve / progress his game if he's stuck, he will accept it. Like most popular streamers, he has early access to new titles. He also plays all genres.
Cohh has a bubbly personality; he had done various jobs, one of which was a DJ before he finally settled on streaming games full time. He said he found what he wanted to do. I've yet to see anything negative of him. He hasn't streamed for a couple of days since his wife had just given birth to their first baby but he's resuming his schedule.

I've found them all to be more or less the same. The one time I watch playthroughs of any game I am watching Proper Bird. She does more stuff on YouTube, but she does have a Twitch as well, think she's getting back to it soon after quitting WoW raiding. She's delightful person to watch and follow, but I am not too sure if she does BioWare games, she was mostly a WoW player but did some playthroughs of Witcher 3 that I enjoyed watching. Otherwise, I find the streamers often kinda cringeworthy. So I avoid those longer LP bits, often if I watch something it is a great player playing a competitive game, that I wish to understand better.

My perspective on this will be a little different since I'm not really into the whole "Let's Play" type of content. When I watch streams, I tend to gravitate towards people who have a more laissez-faire approach to streaming - that is, people who just play games and shoot the shit with people in their chat. This generally means that I watch people who are on the less popular end of the spectrum, since after a certain number of viewers, it becomes impossible for them to keep up with the activity in their chat. There's two other things I look for in streams (not being woefully incompetent at the game they're playing, and not having strict moderators), but they're less important than the style. With that said, here's some people I watch. Mostly Soulsborne streamers, some of whom I'm friends with. TolomeoR - the "largest" streamer I watch with any regularity. Just as a heads-up, he is about as crude and politically incorrect as he can be without getting in trouble with Twitch, and he doesn't shy away from talking about sensitive subjects like politics or social issues, but he does a good job of explaining his viewpoints and fostering a constructive discussion. Also, he doesn't ban people from his chat regardless of what they say or do, unless they repeatedly break Twitch's terms of service, so that's something to be aware of as well. ScottJund / DamnNoHtml - PvP-focused streamer, don't watch him as much because his stream hours don't line up with my schedule as well, but he's still an engaging person to watch. Mostly plays For Honor these days, but he does like the Mass Effect games and he has streamed SP playthroughs of them in the past. Definitely a more energetic personality, and he's on the stubborn side as well, but not unreasonably so in my experience. Cryaotic - Not much to say here. The dude is extremely popular with something like 2.6 million subs on Youtube, but I really only watch him whenever he does an "editing stream", where he streams himself editing videos for his Youtube channel and talks to chat. Also friends with the two aforementioned streamers, and occasionally they'll play various party games together. xDecc - Smallest streamer on this list, similar to TolomeoR in that he's not overly "pc" and doesn't really consider any topic to be off-limits, although he's way less crude. He's Russian, so his accent can make it a little hard to parse what he's saying if you're not used to it, but it's definitely more endearing than offputting in my opinion. There's some other people that I follow but almost never watch, so I'm not counting them.

Tyrodin and Bazza Gazza are the only ones I kinda follow. They're shit for gameplay and information but great for a laugh especially together although their sense of humour can be really Australian at times.

I don't really watch many lets plays these days anymore to be honest.
Though I do still watch TotalBiscuit to see what his breakdown is on the PC port of games, since he gets into the technical aspects quite a bit.

I admit to watching Jane Douglas for entirely hormonal reasons.
She's a physics major. It's allowed.

I used to watch port reports, but not even much of that stuff any more. I seem to instead just look up vids with similar builds to see how the game runs. If I watch someone on twitch, it's probably Brote Ampill for a drinking game. Check out Life is Dranks sometime. DRINK EVERY CRINGE

Let's plays are stupid.
I watch streamers who are entertaining or skilled. I usually watch streamers who play online pvp focused games, but it doesn't matter as long as they fit the previously stated criteria.

Thanks all for the suggestions! I'm running out of the backlog of stuff to watch with farfromsubtle, so I was either going to have to plug in some movies in the background or try my hand finding another interesting streamer. Hopefully you guys have made that easier.

DRINK EVERY CRINGE He's seems to have just rolled those videos back into his WTF is series at the beginning to go over the PC options, and then maybe talk about performance if it's noteworthy. The Halo Wars 2 PC port was at uncharted levels of "what the fuck were they smoking?", from what I saw.

I should have added Digital Foundry. Not so much on gameplay itself, but a pretty neat look at tech on newer games while also going over options and benchmarks, but even then I watch sparingly
I think I'm more prone to listening to a podcast format of people talking about a game instead of watching people react to them
