Yep: SERIOUS CLOWN MAKEUP ISSUE
Bioware you have got to get rid of the SCREAMING BIRTHDAY CAKE CLOWN MAKEUP, especially on Addison.
Like whoa.

I agree with all of the suggestions above, and I just want to mention some annoying bugs I've encountered: 1) Ryder's scanner is sometimes bugged and I can't use it. It doesn't want to open at all and I have to restart the game in order to continue. 2) on Eos several times Ryder starts moving in slow motion, sooooo veeeeery slowly. Again, I have to restart the game to get rid of it. 3) all my powers froze and I couldn't use them at all.I had all these problems also. The most frustrating was the freezing powers. This happend to me at least 10 times in an hour. I had to save before a battle on Eos, log out to desktop and back in. I REALLY Hope this issue along with the others get fixed by the time of release! But otherwise I am really enjoying ME:A!

Wish the trial went longer than 10 hours Didn't make it to Eos so my thoughts are up to going to the nexus. Character Creation - My biggest complaint, sorry Bioware. I spent probably half my trial trying to make a character I liked. I did make a couple I liked only to find out the dadryder made me cringe so I restarted. I finally gave up and went default femRyder. I have to say character creation is a huge step backwards - I had more luck creating characters in ME1 and DAO. I don't understand why you went this route but I will get over it eventually - but I don't think my ryders will ever feel "mine" like my characters in the previous games. Quicksave/Manualsave - Why Bioware? As someone who loves to explore every inch of the map I spend a lot of time doing nothing but walking around reading stuff/staring into the distance. Not being able to save when I want to is horrible. Also as mentioned below becomes a problem when you get stuck in terrain and have to go back in time. Sorry, but this was a horrible horrible decision. Combat/Movement - I REALLY loved the jump jet. A huge plus for adding that It makes general movement around the maps a lot more fun and combat.. much more exciting. Loved being able to hover to get at enemies behind cover. Powers seemed to have a really long cool down? At least longer than the original games. I don't like the removal of the power wheel. I'm not so good at fast action so having the ability to pause and choose my power really made things better for me personally. I will really miss it. Level/World Design - Habitat 7 was awesome. Played through it a few times. The story flowed really well and I loved the little hidden areas I found after a few plays of the planet. Pretty sure I'm still missing things but there is so much to explore just on Habitat 7 - and the views are just.. WOW. Just as an FYI - there are a few places on Habitat 7 where you can get stuck on rocks. My mum found them.. as she usually does.. since you cant manually save it meant going back a fair amount the 2 times she got stuck. General - My mum hasn't been able to play the other ME games much - something about Shep's movement and the lighting gave her horrible motion sickness. I am happy to report that it seems to be fixed with this game. She thinks its because the lighting feels more natural and so far there hasn't been the overload of flickery holograms like the previous ME game. I haven't had any of the horrible bugs some people have had - everything has been very smooth (no stuttering, freezing or audio problems). Only had a couple of minor glitchs in animations (weird shoulder jerking of a couple of npc's during conversations). Overall I love the game and can't wait until I can play more. I will definitely spend a looong time playing this.

So my time is about up. The distinct impression is I'm playing two different games. One game; the combat, exploration and controls are all quite good. The other game; dialog, writing, animations and choices are not great. Sometimes amateurish. I'd go as far to say this feels the least confident in the writing department than anything else in the trilogy. Most claim this gets better later on, but I can say with confidence the first ten hours aren't strong. The worst of it is the dialog. Characters often sound naive or say inane things. Sometimes they use a type of odd slang that may have sounded good to the writer, but in practice it's not working at all. At one point, a character under stress says she can't deal with it all and that her 'face is tired'. What? What does that even mean? That was just one of several nonsensical dialogs I ran into. Often it falls flat or feels out of context. Three other problems: menus are very inefficient to navigate. Planet scanning is back in more or less ME2s form. And exploring the galaxy map is hindered by an unskippable zoom in-zoom out cutscene, every single time you want to examine something. These issues alone could add hours of unnecessary frustration to the game. So the combat and gameplay might be worth the price of admission for some, but the writing and roleplaying don't look good so far. Also, I tried two MP matches and it was a janky mess. Didn't play as smooth as SP, and it uses peer to peer instead of servers, so when the host left the match just ended. Pretty much spot on to how I felt about it after my 10 hrs were up. But, having said that the main story arc and things concerning the Ryder family are plenty enough for me to be invested in the game going forward... sorta of a weird juxtaposition.

Only two issues so far: 1: Freezed at start of opening cinematic, had to CTRL-ALT-DEL to get out. Restart seems to have fixed. 2: Lack of intuitive controls when using a Controller, or how do I make Ryder use a Biotic power? I couldn't figure that out, and the Control bindings only gave for keyboard..... Otherwise, having fun

Connected my computer to the TV and unfortunately the font size in the game is too small to read. I play in the living room and sit further away from the TV. I would not like to have to move the furniture. It would be great if I could adjust the font size in a later update.

Overall I'm really happy with the game so far. There are three things I don't like. CC is very limited. While I'm quite happy how my current Ryder turned out, I dappeled with CC some more and results were, well, pretty messed up. At least some kind of "Black Emporium" is desperately needed. I miss powerwheel. I can live with favourites system, but tactical playing is pretty much out. Combat is good thouhg. And squadmates powers. Next time, please give us a chance to tell them what power to use. I may sound a little negative, but these are just small problems (well, CC little bigger) and I can't wait to continue my adventure with Ryder and the crew.

In Eos (in one hour of gameplay), on PC, GTX 970, i5-4670k, 8 Go RAM, Windows 10: - First bug in the kett fight : unable to use powers (I'm a "sentinel" with a Predator and a Cyclone, using Pull, Energy Drain and Backlash). The powers all look like they're on constant cooldowns. I've had to reload a previous save. This kind of bug is a little worrying since you can't save in priority missions. - Second bug : heavy slow motion effect, increasing with time. - Third bug : I've had a squad banter with Cora and Drack (???????????) in the Tempest, in the room where you can develop things. Except I don't know yet who is Drack.
All of this in one hour...

The game feels somewhat rough (even to go so bold as to say rushed or even incomplete), yet solid. Having played ME1 to death and a few runs through ME2, while the issues brought up with the character model's stilted and sometimes ridged expressions was apparent, I wasn't bothered by it. Though, there was one cutscene that involved one of the character's mouth immediately ending in an almost clown like smile before cutting away, which threw me for a loop.
I'm not going to bother with any sort of detailed analysis, as most of what needs to be said has already been said (as well as beaten into the ground since the EA's launch), but the doubts I've had from this game due to such negativity feels like it has been uplifted. Yes, I know this game has problems, yes I can understand why people are angry. But the game itself is enjoyable, and the core of the plot that this game is building off of, while it is something I've not progressed enough to feel heavily invested in, is still intriguing, and is enough to keep me playing. While I do still hope to see improvements upon this game's current platform, it's enough for me to realize that this is something I can feel optimistic about. Though unfortunately, cynical tenancies have me also wondering if it'll all go south from here. I'm just going to hope optimism wins this time around.

Yep: SERIOUS CLOWN MAKEUP ISSUE Bioware you have got to get rid of the SCREAMING BIRTHDAY CAKE CLOWN MAKEUP, especially on Addison. Like whoa. Yep, it's a big problem. The Good:+ Combat feels excellent so far, and I'm looking forward to seeing how it evolves with more skills. + Jetpack, climbing, evade-boosting, all adds a lot of great feeling mobility to both exploration and combat. Reaching high ground as a sniper has never felt so good. + Environment design is fantastic. Multiple paths and optional exploration on Habitat 7 was good to see. Eos looks like it will open up a lot pretty soon. The Bad:- Dialogue is mediocre at best, often awful. Ryder has a science background but took the piss out of Suvi's 60 page introduction to the geology and flora of Eos? Ryder is a scientist! I'M AN ECOLOGIST in real life! Even if we can't actually read the whole thing you should act like it's interesting and add some codex notes about Eos, not pretend science is a joke to everyone who plays this game. We're a smart audience, Bioware, not all jarheads who just want to shoot things. - Got to keep this spoiler free, so... super vague and spoilered just in case: Pathfinder title and Alec Ryder. Come on. That quickly? 100% predictable and zero emotional impact as a result. The Ugly:~ Character faces and animations. What happened? Almost all the facial animation is restricted to the mouth, with some minor eye movements, and... that's about it. Coupled with some awful eye shaders and hilariously bad makeup makes for the worst character models Bioware have ever created. You guys are so damn talented! Just look at the work you've put into the environments and alien designs! I'm not sure what went wrong with the humans, but with the rest of the game being of such high visual quality these models just stand out like a sore thumb. ~ The UI, at least on PC. I know bad UI design is a trend with Bioware by this point, but please with all the menus within menus within folders within menus. One single change that will massively improve things: Program right-click to be a "back" button. Also allow the panning camera sweeps in the galaxy map to be skipped and therefore instantaneous. It's a galaxy MAP on a military grade ship. Would they really program a map to be that slow..? Overall I'm slightly positive on the game after the trial, but nowhere near enough to pre-order. I'm worried about the dialogue too often seeming like it's aimed at child-level audiences, and despite Ryder's science background often acting like science bores him/her. The gameplay itself is great though, and if reviews are positive about the main story and suggest the writing improves after this intro then I'll happily buy the game. But with animation and model quality like this it's not looking likely that this will meet series' expectations, and I'm worried this will become another Fallout 4: A very good game for what it is, but not a great game and widely criticised for not meeting fan's lofty expectations.

There were a few graphics issues and the CC badly needs improvement, but nothing that ruined my immersion or anything. I absolutely loved it.

The game so far is fantastic, it's a little buggy but most of the bugs I saw were incredibly minor, like some lights and shadows flickering etc. But some of the bigger issues were of course the awkward facial animations (they really don't bother me that much tho honestly) Also I too ran into a situation of my Ryder moving in suuuper slow motion on Eos. Here's my spec: GTX 980 4gb, i7-4790k, 16gb RAM, Windows 7 64-bit. All in all i'm loving it and can't wait to play further.

Just caught up on all the latest posts. Thanks for all the great feedback, both good and bad, it's all appreciated! Just one piece of info for those of you running into bugs: if you don't mind, please report them on the Answers HQ website to make it easier for us to track, fix, and patch them. Thanks again! Really looking forward to seeing folks get into the real meat of the game (i.e. not just the prologue) in a few days! Thanks for taking the time to do this Ian. Just a small suggestion, want to add this post, specifically the link to Answers HQ to the OP? Would make it easier to find that buried on page 14

A couple of bugs I noticed when talking to the science team on the Nexus (one of the early optional quests).
(I'm on Xbox)
When attempting to talk to a scientist, on occasions I got a circle with a white dot over the character to indicate I could speak to them but the Y button symbol didn't pop up. I had to move away and back adn try different angles before I got the option to speak.
On a couple of occasions during the dialogue my field of view was locked off to the point where I couldn't even turn to see the person I was talking with!
I'd just like to add that I agree with the sentiment about the lack of saves during main missions. It didn't affect me much as I only died once during the prologue but I don't see the point of locking it off outside of combat and if it doesn't autosave regularly enough then I can see that being very frustrating.
I also found the calibration of the brightness settings at the start of the game confusing. It said to adjust until the object in the centre was clearly visible but there was no specific object in the centre of the image and the definition of clearly visible was also a bit odd. The default showed a failr dark image and you needed to turn the brightness up to almost max to see all the whirls on the planet but as soon as I started playing on that setting it was way too bright on my HDR TV. Almost blinding! I turned it back down to mid way but, to this day, I still have no idea what I was supposed to be looking at with that calibration!
On the whole though, I love this game. None of these issues are dampening my enjoyment in any way. I have no clue what the problem with the animations people are seeing is as they seem find to me. I couldn't get enough of the game during the early access and I'm chomping at the bit to get back into it come the 23rd.

Character creator is about as useful as toe fungus. Needs serious work. Pre sets are about as interesting looking as looking at faces put in a blender.
Animations and facial textures need serious work. I have no idea how this passed 'gold' when they clearly are not AAA quality.
Writing could have been better (my face is tired?). Romances could have been better balanced. As of now, I have absolutely no interest in anyone but Suvi.
Also, a critical quality of life issue; Highlight objects in the world that can be scanned, please do not force us to scan every inch of every planet for research points.

I already provided feedback for single player, so here's my multiplayer feedback. The positives are the same as in ME3, so I'm mostly addressing the issues I encountered. I just want to say, though, that multiplayer is very fun and I really like how it ties into single player.
- Some audio issues. Positional audio is all over the place. Audio crashed entirely at one point forcing me to play in silence.
- There needs to be an option to mute everyone by default. Too many PC players are unaware that they have an audio recording device enabled and the sounds coming from them is annoying. There's at least one in every game.
- Since voice chat is not an option due to the issue mentioned above, there should be quick chat commands like in Rocket League. E.g.: "I'm heading towards the objective." You can bind these to the functions keys, for instance.
- I would prefer if sprint weren't a toggle.
- Why do I need to press a key to flip the cards from equipment packs? This is redundant. Have them flipped by default.

I only played up until the Tempest, but I'm happy with pretty much everything when it comes to actual gameplay. The combat is fun, Habitat 7 was really cool, and I'm liking what I've seen of the characters.
My criticisms are mainly cosmetic.
-The character creator is hugely disappointing. The options are so restricted. It's nice to have better non-Caucasian options, but the variety within each preset is just not there. There will be no popular faces to share, because they will amount to "Preset 9 with a different hair color and a pointier chin."
-Light hair colors look terrible. I'm sorry, but it looks like they dipped their head into a bucket of paint. Even the texture along the hairline reinforces this. They are practically glowing. Also, blonde hair isn't banana yellow. I know you know this, because Cora exists.
-The hairstyles are an improvement over DAI.
-Facial animations aren't great. Honestly, they barely bother me, so it's a minor thing IMO.
-Gil and Suvi should've had unique appearances instead of being CC-generated nobodies. They feel like afterthoughts compared to the other crew members of the Tempest.
All that aside, I've loved what I've played of MEA and am happy with my pre-order of the Deluxe edition.

Would make it easier to find that buried on page 14 Good call, will do!

Hey Ian, I don't know if you've seen this gif passed around on twitter. But is there any way your team could amend the squad AI to not spend their powers (and hit CD) on enemies with less than X% of health remaining? (This is a spot where a tactics menu of some kind would have been really nice)
