How the hell do you generate a decent amount of income and keep party members equipment up to scratch? Having quite a bit of trouble with that, granted loot in general has improved since release.. Pick and choose what you spend money on. Especially at first. And sell the equipment of your fallen enemies. Especially suits of heavy armor, as I don't think any of your companions can wear it. Ironically, only two best tank candidates can't wear heavy (any) armor. Everyone else can, but only the youngest party member needs (because archers).

Verse has some talents, which allow her to stay alive, while being targeted by an enemy, but these require light armor. Lantry and Eb are mages. Sirin can fill any role successfully, but having an arrow-proof cuirass is preferable (otherwise AI targets and KO's her in seconds).

Have you tried putting the Mages in heavy armor? The developers made some "paladin Lantry" jokes pre release, never actually tried using him that way. The other one has some talents and spells that can be potentially helpful too, even if not designed with tankiness specifically in mind.
As for the Beast-woman, she can certainly take some hits, but I'm not massively confident in her ability to successfully tank bosses, especially on higher difficulties. (I haven't tried anyway)
Haven't tried that (because of recovery time increase), but it should be possible.

Hmm....I'm wrapping up my Anarchist playthrough, and it appears... ...I have to kill three Archons after all. The Trial of Archons quest is canceled as soon as I return from Ashweal after having acquired the last artifact, and I can't turn it in earlier, which means both Nerat and Ashe will be alive. My favor with Tunon appears to be capped at 3.93 - it didn't rise any higher in spite of several favor-granting situations after that threshold was reached. So I'll have to kill him, too. Does anyone know a way around this? I'd prefer fewer boss fights. Well, I *can* reduce it to one bigger and harder fight, but that would leave a few others in rebellion.

You will probably have to kill Ashe and/or Nerat. You might still be able to sway Tunon to your side depending on what you say to him during the confrontation. I have read that you might be able to avoid fighting Nerat or Ashe by having Bleden mark execute one of them if you have enough evidence on them.

The next quest in the line is "Final Judgement". I'd suggest to meet Bleden Mark at Ashweald, report back to Tunon (Favor 3+ is required), execute the guilty Archon personally (and the less guilty one too), return to Ashweald and face the Adjudicator at the Court. Should be fine. Also I'd recommend to talk to Barik, when Verse is in the party after you deal with Graven Ashe. Then to talk to Verse and again to Barik.
Edit. Also returning the Magebane Helm before completing the quest is preferable for obvious reasons.

On the Anarchy path, however... ...it appears you can't complete the Trial of Archons quest, and thus there will be no trial at Tunon's court, and Bleden Mark will not be sent to kill Nerat or Ashe. In addition, there appears to be a cap on the favor you can gain with Tunon. In any case, since there is no trial of archons you won't have an opportunity to say good things at that point, so you'll always go into the final judgment scene with favor < 4. Has anyone here played the Anarchist path? I'd rather like to know if I missed something important.

The thing is.... ...the Trial of Archons quest vanishes after I return to my tower to cast the Edict, so there won't be any guilty Archon. Also, favor 4 is required for Tunon to judge you innocent and join you, which I can't get because the favor appears to be capped (there is a lock symbol over the track). Obviously, but I didn't know you can do that. How?

When the Helm is unequipped, talk to Eldian after reporting to Mark. (should work in Act 3)

OK.... one question: You were on the Anarchist path and the "Trial of Archons" quest did not automatically end without an actual trial at Tunon's court and a writ of execution after you returned to your spire to cast an Edict?

I was on the Anarchist path, "Trial of Archons" did end before the actual trial, "Final Judgement" (automatically starts at the beginning of Act III) included the said trial instead. "ToA" was about investigating, "FJ" was about presenting the evidence found.
The exact order of actions mentioned in one of the previous posts.

man, you are awesome!!! Okay, I offer the backcompatible apologies to Obsidian over saying they treat Tyranny poorly. I still want to finish Prey first, but that's next on my list to purchase & play.
OMG, back to isometric projection!

Going to check out the pricing on Steam right away. Fingers crossed they will do a decent bundle soon with all the Tyranny goodness. Still have to finish DA3 run & Prey, but I think Tyranny is a definite maybe next on my list. EDIT: Okay, it's $60 for Tyranny+ BW, tales of the tiers not included. Will wait to buy, but the patch notes and the DLC description basically adds everything I wanted. Really looking forward to it. Now I really, really, really wish I did not buy Prey It's hard to hold myself back from purchasing it, but well, I have to discipline myself.

Okay, so I've been really interested in this, and with the Steam sale, I'mma have to pick this up. Anyone have any tips on which edition I should go for? The "guide book" that comes with the Overlord Edition sounds really interesting, but I'm not sure it's a "pay 50% more" level of interesting.
Also, with regards to the DLCs, I notice one is on sale but the new one isn't (granted, I figger the sale is to drum up interest in the new DLC in the first place!). The other one is, though...are DLCs for this game things that I'll benefit from having at the beginning, or are they more just things to do when you're done with the game's main campaign?
