Well sure there aren't actually problems but the game is just a huge meme and a joke and people project problems and that's just as strong. Even fans aren't buying it! And the developers may be too heartbroken to put all their hard work. They tried for 5 years and it wasn't good enough. Will try ty 10 years this time? :sob: I have doubts as to how many of the developers would be truly heart broken over this. So many gripes I have with this games seems to stem from that the developers doesn't seem to have much of pride riding on their work. This is an easy comment to make, unless you've been there. Trust me, no one spends 60+ hours working on a texture if it's not a labor of love. I will say this, today's gamers are a fickle beast. I develop mods for Fallout and Skyrim, mods that I dedicate 100-300hrs over the course of 8-9 months in my spare time when I'm not working, spending time with family, and doing my Reserve stuff. And I can say without a doubt the mod users on Fallout 4 and Skyrim SE are some of the most vile and rude users I've ever seen. If it's not just how they want it they demand you change it, they insult you, they even steal your assets and claim them as their own. I've never seen gamers like today's. It was so bad on the fallout 4 side that we lost numerous we'll know mod authors who have been around since Morrowind and who will never make a new mod for a Bethesda game due to today's gamers.

I don't think MEAMP is that great, TBH. Combos aren't as explosive, and melee is just weak. If you're gonna play CoD : The Mass Effect edition.... Why not just play CoD?
Until they fix the save system, I won't be playing this game anymore. I'm tired of dying and having to back and do things over and over again until I finish the boss. It's fucking ridiculous. Just started exploring something that's not part of the quest that I'm on, died. Went right back to the start of the vault. Tried again, except this time tried to save (manually) right before the door, wouldn't let me. Greyed out. Died, right back to the beginning of the vault.
I almost broke my cell phone from grabbing and squeezing the damn thing so hard. I'm just pissed.

jogleeI appreciate that you do so much work with mods, I play fallout 4 a lot actually, always with mods on, I can't imagine how the bethesda games would be even playable without mods.

Just like how Dragon Age 2 should not be judged with Dragon Age Origins since it isn't Dragon Age Origins 2. Hell, even Inquisition should be judged as its own game because it isn't called Dragon Age Origins 3. They're their own games, just because they happen to be in the same universe doesn't mean we have to judge them with other products in that same universe! Am I doing it right? Well it's perpetuating the story and narrative of the setting, but that does not mean that the systems used in the previous installments need to reused as well. They could have theoretically called it Andromeda, cut out all the aliens from the game, removed all references from the Milky Way that aren't human, and just blazed on as normal. But they didn't, because they wanted the narrative context to remain. No one gives a shit about the "systems" of the previous games, they care about the drop in quality between the trilogy and Andromeda. If they had removed Mass Effect from the title it would have been judged based on all of Bioware's recent work, where it would still rank in the rather low quality section. At the end of the day, Andromeda is still a major disappointment to people, whether it be due to the animations, the poor quality of the writing, the combat becoming clunky, or even the inane "BioWare hates the gays" narrative being trumpeted on here and on the SJW havens of reddit and Tumblr. The vast majority of attempted rationalizations and cognitive dissonance is never going to counter that argument. It didn't work for Dragon Age 2, and it won't work for Mass Effect Andromeda. I have doubts as to how many of the developers would be truly heart broken over this. So many gripes I have with this games seems to stem from that the developers doesn't seem to have much of pride riding on their work. This is an easy comment to make, unless you've been there. Crappy animation and bugs i can put up with. Shit poor writing that destroys immersion i can't put up with. I was watching a playthrough earlier and Cora tells someone that she read the asari combat manual so she's familiar with their tactics or some shit like that. So an entire race of people that have existed for far longer than humanity and on various worlds across the galaxy all share one phuqing combat manual? Really? REALLY?! Not only that but this Cora person who is at the most 40 years old is telling an asari commando probably twice her age how to be an asari commando? Get the phuq out of here with this bullshit. Cora was actually trained as an asari commando and served with a commando unit as part of some sort of military-diplomacy program. She didn't just read a manual. I know this.

That makes no sense. The "drop in quality" people are referring to is a conclusion based on comparisons to the narrative of the trilogy, not BioWare games as a whole. The fact of the matter is people pick and choose what they want to remember from a past experience and end up making incomplete comparisons. Case in point: the companions. Saying that the companions aren't "memorable" like those in ME3 is not logical given that it took 3 installments to establish that level of memorability in the first place. Is Garrus from ME1 really the same Garrus from ME2 and ME3? How can you compare ME(1+2+3) Garrus to ME(A1) ____? Anyway, I've said everything I have to say on the matter.

I'm talking a drop in the quality of the gameplay, not the narrative. Narratives in BioWare games haven't been decent in decades since they continuously reuse the same story ad nauseam in everything except Dragon Age 2. The combat is incredibly jarring, which is surprising seeing as it's own Frostbite, an engine dedicated to shooters, and before someone whines "It's not designed for third person" it is an option for vehicles in Battlefield. The animations have also been mentioned ad nauseam as well. The companions haven't been "memorable" for a while now either. You correctly point out that the ones in the Trilogy had three games to set them up, provided they survived. Then again, I never argued about the companions, because I don't give a shit about the companions, but you sure killed that straw man...

I'm having a hard time seeing this game doing well in sales with the reception it's getting. Interest wasn't very high to begin with anyway. I think this might be the last Mass Effect game we get. I mean we know they never planned on continuing the series after ME3. The fact that they did anyway, and gave it to their B team, kinda shows EA/Bioware weren't totally invested in keeping the franchise going strong. I think with the mediocre reception, if sales aren't great, I can absolutely see them putting Mass Effect to bed. If anything they're probably way more focused on making sure their new IP is great, because there's gonna be a lot riding on that. It doesn't deserve to sell well, so hopefully it won't. If it does, then you will get more games like these and EA and co will keep taking your money offering mediocre products.

I don't like this idea that BioWare has to be subjected to some sort of "objective" quality standards determined by gaming society. It is a deeply unhealthy mindset to take as games are ultimately subjective experiences. People take a wide variety of messages away from the games that they play, and as long as people take away positive messages from Andromeda then who cares what reviewers and fake news sites says about it.
I'm a BioWare fan, not some entitled pissbaby so what some people might consider crippling flaws, I consider adorable quirks. The animations and all that. I mean, BioWare is taking us on a journey to a whole new galaxy with a whole bunch of new places to explore and stories to uncover. That's what matters at the end of the day right? There's honestly just a toxic subset of the community who just won't be satisfied unless BioWare specifically panders to their impossibly unrealistic quality standards.
