It's not 20, and I think I like it so far. But I realize that it's goign to get old at some point.
Should be optional and skipable - 100%.

Flashbacks to the Mass Effect elevator criticisms! I'd rather have an immersive scene, than a generic load screen. It's a choice between the two really. Wrex totally made the elevators worth it.

The very moment I saw it on yt footage I thought "wow, what a tedious, infuriating time waster".

It's a few seconds on my PC. Much better than the ME2 loading video (thank God there was a mod that cut that out).

Yeah i absolutely hate it, and how it zooms into a planet and then zooms out.

It isn't loading screen. No idea why people keep saying this. They arent loading any planets or maps if all you are doing is focusing in on a planet for scanning. All they need is the picture, just like any of the planets in the OT.
Someone added it because they wanted the player to feel like they are moving through space, which is a perfectly reasonable goal.

I wasn't a fan of it when I played the trial. It's pretty but it's slow.
If I want to admire the stars I like that I can look out the window but for the purposes of moving from A to B I'm not keen. A simpler interface for me would have sufficed.

What load screen is this hiding? I get a load screen just coming up to a planet to scan it? I really, really don't think it is a loading screen. I believe it's sole purpose is to look "cool". But yes, you get it whenever the ship moves to investigate or scan any planet, meteor etc even when you don't land on the planet. It's a loading screen whether you want to believe it or not. It takes a bit less than 15 seconds on my slow-ass computer while people in Reddit report it being 10 seconds. For comparison, In ME3 loading screens for me were ~12 seconds.

I like it actually. The graphics look incredible. I'm in no hurry anyways nor do I want my Mass Effect games to fast paced. Part of what annoys me is I like the close up view. What it might look like if you were in orbit. Before you back out again. I would actually like to scan and what not from that view. So to me, not only does pulling out take more time, it takes me out Of a view I enjoy, and dumps me into a pretty plain boring one.

Easily my biggest complaint about the game. Freakin' casuals.

I like it but I wouldn't mind if they made it a little faster and cut out some parts like the zoom in on planet on arrival, wait 1 second, zoom out. Just put me at the zoomed out view to start with and present and option to view the zoomed in horizon view.

It's basically a transition screen while it loads in the background, maybe it's better with an SSHD/SSD? I think it's better than having a load screen, also the galaxy map is in 3D unlike in previous games which is 2D.

It would be jarring for it to apply to some places and not to others. Note how it's faster than others. That's a good point. They did say they wanted landing to be seamless, so maybe they preloaded Eos or whatever other landing planet during this time. I'd prefer the loading to be only on the planets I need it then, like have an extended video for landing, which they kinda already do... Hmm..

That doesn't mean it is a loading screen, it will be taking longer to produce the animation. It took 12 seconds in ME3 when you zoomed into a planet???? WTF it was instant for me.

I'm sure it's a load screen as well. You gotta remember that once you get to the planet, the background through the windows change.
