So on the system view you travel from planet to planet and anomalies which takes roughly 20 secs each time.
While cool at first, it soon becomes annoying and a waste of time.
Anyone else feel the same and hoping for an option to skip it?

It's not 20 seconds, but yeah its a tedious waste of time. Incredibly frustrating and so far I have only had to sit through it about 10 times. One of the worst game design decisions ever imo, no idea what they were thinking.

It's that or load screens so you can take your pick.

Well I liked it in the trial but I havn't played long enough to get tired of the space travel mechanic. So far I like it. Nobody better complain about the real time view we get while on the Tempest though. I like how they are actually emphasizing space in this game.

It's that or load screens so you can take your pick. Why do you need a load screen to show an image/model of a planet? They could do that instantly 20 years ago at the same level of graphical quality. Why is it so much slicker in ME1, 2 and 3?

Games these days require a lot of power as they even did back then. To load a new area that had intense detail required a load screen, this accomplishes the same in a better way. Plus it feels like you are in space.

yeah, it's so boring and unnecessary. It was good at first, but when you have to repeat the process to visit every planet.. it's a big no from me.
I'm still hoping that BioWare will address this in the future patch. What do you people think? or Will BioWare keep this just to defend somebody's efforts and works making this mechanics?

Well they did fix the gather animation in DA:I by cutting it down, so they might do it. I mean its cool the first few times, and then it gets in the way of the pace. Feels like the most of the game though, good ideas, poor execution.

If it takes longer for whatever you guys are talking about (haven't played it yet) then it was a dumb decision. However if it is just to make a long loading scene more entertaining then let me remind everyone that when you died in the witcher 3 and did (last save game) it took forever. I could get up and go to the bathroom before it was done.

It seems to be an immersive, semi-hidden loading screen so...no I don't hate it. It's more like 10 seconds on my PC.
Also, I think movement and gameplay pauses are important for immersion. Like, you're flying half way across a solar system or a galaxy without folding space time, snap you're there isn't gonna cut it. I really dislike cutting out every single non-essential second in games or films to make them insanely fast paced.

I prefer the animation to ME1's system. At least now it's clear when you're moving the ship, I thought ME2/3 worked fine, actually.
As for it being the loading screen, is this how we get the view out the window? If so, is it worth it?

It's like a pet project for someone in the art department that no one in BioWare has any heart to say, "No, it's not necessary to always have those when we change planet, my dear."

As for it being the loading screen, is this how we get the view out the window? If so, is it worth it? In my opinion they are. The views from the Tempest are amazing. The generic space views from the observation deck of the Normandy were fine at the time but this blows that away. For that reason alone I like the Tempest more than either Normandy.

What load screen is this hiding? I get a load screen just coming up to a planet to scan it?

But yes, you get it whenever the ship moves to investigate or scan any planet, meteor etc even when you don't land on the planet.

I stopped doing it entirely now, it's too onerous. I just get the anomaly from each system and then move on.. not worth traveling to every bloody planet for a miniscule resource reward... you're better off landing on a planet and putting down mining, it's far more efficient time-wise.

I can imagine that getting old and frustrating. There may be a way around it or a way to shorten it on PC.

Flashbacks to the Mass Effect elevator criticisms! I'd rather have an immersive scene, than a generic load screen. It's a choice between the two really.

The reason why we have it and why it is slower than the OT is because how they realized the view space view from the Tempest.
This time around we have a highly detailed, actual 3d galaxy map that has A LOT more going on than the previous games, which had just spherical objects in with a generic space background and lighting and some textures.
