Could be better, but don't regret the purchase.
Bioware has finally figured out how to make a competent third person shooter with features like blind fire and dynamic cover that works well, and Insanity mode is no pushover so far.
Most of my concerns are strictly story and character creation related, for the actual gameplay it plays better than any of the previous games, it's like ME1 but with combat gameplay that's actually good.

Big Scoop: CC is atrocious, haha. To quote a friend some female hairstyles look like domestic violence..lol.
My male Ryder was so fugly i restarted the game and went with default, which works much better.
Am i happy with the purchase? i'm not very far into the game but yes so far i don't regret it.
once on the planet things improve a lot.
On the Hyperion things don't look so good, Dark Energy needs to destroy it.

I like story so far, the combat, it is beautiful, it ran like butter through the first habitat with no frame rate hitch or blur and then I reached the nexus and now I have sporadic jankiness. All of that is patchable. Soldiering on...

Yes. There are lots of aspects about the game I don't like and don't understand what the designers were thinking, but I am having fun. I also think it could be improved upon relatively easily in upcoming patches.

Yes, I'm happy that I bought it, even at full price. The negativity is hugely overblown. The game has big issues, many that won't be fixed. But even in it's current state it is worth the buy.

It's okay, wish I'd waited.
Love the combat and squadmates and overall story tbh, dislike the lack of m/m content, some animations and wish the soundtrack was more inspiring. I'd give it a 7/10.

Yep, I havent made much progress in the story, but it's meeting my expectations so far.
My expectations being, mostly fun gameplay that's a bit hampered by some eyebrow raising design decisions, and a mostly adequate story with some dumb plot points but elevated by interesting albeit polarizing characters.
(It's how I feel about all ME and DA games.)

Playing on Insanity, so nice and tough.
My only complaint is the lack of being able to save whenever I want on priority missions. I already whined about it on Twitter, and the Devs seem to be understanding at the very least.

Yup, very happy with it. Some of the writing is cheezy/cringy but I really dig the overall positive and hopeful tone of Andromeda. Combat is amazing, so many different options to try. The game is huge and I know I'm going to spend the next couple months playing this to death. Jank animations and all.

Well, in my case - I had a prolonged encounter on the iceplanet, where I kept dying for various reasons after doing pretty well the first 30 ketts or so. Death meant doing all those battles again and hoping for another outcome. That was pretty annoying. Had I been able to save, I would have done so after every spawn, so death would matter less. |

I've done about 8 hours so far. I am really happy with it! Tons of ME1 vibes and yeah I mean ME 1! The writing is about on par with the cheese of the original trilogy. I haven't found a Kaidan or an Ash yet thankfully as those were the ones I'd groan about having to talk to.
Yeah I am having fun with the story and the characters. I like that this is more of an exploration, survey kind of thing than military thing cos I think that's where the ME 1 feels are coming in.
Cons: They've got to patch. I've got some freezes in cutscenes and stuttering frames every so often especially at the beginning of chapters or on the Tempest or Nexus. It's inconsistent but it happens just enough to be noticeable.
The Nomad has been as infuriating as the Mako at times. I hate having to drive things.
Also I can't seem to get the wardrobe on the Tempest to accept my color texture changes. Stuck with the same white outfit all the time!
Can't wait to play tomorrow!
