I don't play hardcore mode, so I can't really help you there. Do you dash a lot to escape from cover to cover?

There is no medigel in SP. You have to go to an ammo crate with a red dot on it to heal.

You have to get close to a team-mate to revive him/her. Can't use medi-Gel 

Edit: The feature was scrapped. You can't control what powers they use anymore, just upgrade their powers.

And I have to check about reviving squadmates when near ammo crates, but I don't believe so.

I don't believe it revives dead team mates. You have to go them yourself and revive them. You don't tell them which ability to use. That is all up to the AI.

Even on Normal, there are a few pain in the ass moments. Keep trying! I still haven't gotten used to the combat either.(I also died on this part)

But remember to keep dodging and try targeting those "dogs" first, since they have the ability to flank you.

I wouldn't recommend playing on Hardcore if you're having trouble. Andromeda can be quite a bit harder than the Original Trilogy. Only ME2 even comes close to MEA Insanity.

made it through all that and on EOS, getting 2 squadmates helpd a bunch, plus singularity now and push - good cc. ty. I can't figure out what this game is about. Very different from the trilogy. I can't put my finger on this one yet...

Hovering in midair whilst being a biotic God gun platform is never going to get old.

Playing hardcore too, and it's a very welcome challenge in the early levels. I even expect to up the difficulty later when I can reliably execute combos and such. I never gelled (is there even medigel?) or used a shield booster, if I failed it was mostly because I got stuck with controls and pressing the wrong buttons at the wrong time - still learning, I think it's important to get your control scheme right, and make it very smooth. There's a lot more controls separated now that you have to worry about, and that created a problem for me, too.

Regarding cover system and everything I have the same problem as you. I think what this game is missing is "roll to another cover", which really made your repositioning a lot safer, if the terrain allowed it. I do feel much more fragile with this system just as you, and sadly I can't give any tips yet.

All I could tip for now is if you have a long range weapon, there are quite a few encounters on the first planet where you can jump up on a vantage point and snipe them from above - try to avoid fighting uphill, terrain advantage is something that wasn't utilised much in ME2 and ME3, it's something I sometimes did in ME1 but here it can work even better, actually.

Hovering in mid air is a great way of getting yourself gunned down, especially on hardcore, sad to say combat is harder, not because enemies are smarter or have more interesting abilities, but due to finicky cover systems and bullet sponge enemies. that said, if a pinch, if you spam the evade button, as long as you don't run into any obstacles, you are effectively invulnerable.
