I read about that part, sounds disappointing. Mofo takes my arm I wanna take his head. He takes your arm because it was killing you. You can declare your intention to kill him though.

Still though, he can turn people to stone on a whim but he can't remove the Mark without maiming you ? Or grow your arm back ?

Are people forgetting that DAI made Game of the Year? And numerous other rewards? Not to mention it did receive critical acclaim? Go outside of here or DragonAge reddit and what you are going to see is DAI is a crap game meme...with various excuses to explain the GOTY, rewards and critical acclaims have no value. Since ME2 released the BioWare hates has simply been increasing online (people say it started with DA2, but ME2 is really where it started with complains about streamlining and other stuff) and now "gaming critics" have joined in. I have seen posters in other forums literally say "just die already" as if BioWare was terminally ill. It's like all the haters are trying to create a narrative where BioWare can't sell their games so EA would close them down or force them to make other type of games. I just don't get why they feel like they need to "destroy BioWare", if you don't like their games, don't buy them... Anyway, BioWare clearly has plan for another DA games, DAI was a financial success and minus the haters who didn't buy it, rather well received. It won't be there next year because EA already announced SecretIP for 2018. But it's coming...

Rewards and critical acclaims aren't always necessarily given to the worthy but of course it is all subjective. regardless DAI is amazing and worth it imo specially Tresspasser even with all the flaws. i don't think i have seen more character development in any other game than Inquisition.

can't believe 3 years past just like that and David Gaider has already left the project. Is Patrick Weeves still head write for DA? he is quite good so i really hope to see the next DA games. they must complete Solas's story. Please do not restart something and make it a a mess. Probs, EA needs to make money and DA is a source of that...

Still though, he can turn people to stone on a whim but he can't remove the Mark without maiming you ? Or grow your arm back ? Turning people to stone isn't all that hard in Dragon Age. We've encountered scads of petrified people prior to Trespasser. However, we've never once encountered a person who lost a limb and got a magical replacement.

I know it was sad DG leaving Bioware but he had already left the Dragon Age project before Trespasser and PW was responsible for that. Whilst I didn't like the hatchet job he did on the Dalish in Masked Empire, which then seemed to get carried over into DAI, the fact is he does seem to write good characters and storylines for them.
When he was on Mass Effect he was responsible for Mordin Solus and Tali, two of the most popular characters in the series and the culmination of their personal stories in ME3 were the two high points of the original trilogy for me, so I am hopeful that he will do the Solas story justice in the next game.
Also according to DG, DAI only contained half the plotline, which is probably why Corypheus was such an underwhelming big boss because he was never intended to be the main adversary. Solas was always the main antagonist in DAI, we just didn't know it at the time. Assuming that his story had been mapped out to the end of its arc, all they need to do is flesh the whole thing out and introduce some new, interesting characters to take us there. I'm hoping it will all be resolved in the next game and I rather suspect it will be. I think the reason Bioware are concentrating on bringing out the new IP before the next Dragon Age is because they want to get people excited about their new setting before they potentially wind up the old one.
If that is the case, then hopefully DA4 will be a no holds barred finale to the series, with just a door left open for a sequel. Two things make me think this may be the case. To start with the number of times it was stressed by Flemeth/Morrigan that we are on the cusp of major change and Flemeth in particular ought to know considering she has been nudging things the way she wished them to go. Also looking back to the original trailer for DAI in 2013, much of which bore no real resemblance to what was finally released (look at the difference in the way the Fade opens up for one) and the words of Morrigan. "Will you stand against the darkness or lead this world to its bitter end?" There was never that sense of jeopardy in DAI (except perhaps in the Dark Future) and no amount of emotive warnings by Morrigan actually in game could make it seem so.
