We need to develop a way to remove him from our brains. No way in hell I want that thing in my mind to the end of my days.
I still don't understand this Bioware cliche of having your protagonist "permanently" changed by something.
the Wardens MUST be infected with the blight. The Inquisitor MUST have a permanent mark in their hand. Shepard MUST have cybernetic implants after being resurrected. Ryder MUST have a permanent connection with SAM.
Is there some rule in gaming that prevents your protagonist from being formidable without having some aspect of his/her life changed by some kind of trauma?

You never know, it could be the hook for the sequel. "65,000 human lives ended on August 29, 2786. The survivors called the subsequent war judgement day."
SAM becomes self aware and Ryder leads the resistance against the machines.

Multiple players have notified BioWare of this issue so hopefully they'll get rid of it in the future.

The worst is on the Tempest: Strike Team ready for deployment. "
-"Thanks, AGAIN. Don't give a shit. "
It also interrupts crew convos for additional annoyance.

This one made me laugh because it's so true. I dunno, I dunno how they're gonna fix this dumpster fire. I mean, broken cover system, laughably vertical directional system, dialogue options that sound like they just came from a thirteen year old who doesn't know any better. And probably the worst offender of all, is the DAI - like system. Fast travel between sites, menial and absolute garbage quests. You know, you're supposed to be exploring a planet, not going to 7-11 for a snack.

It's a useful warning to have, but it should be limited to hazard level 2 and 3 zones rather 1 for it to trigger. Those are lethal enough to suffice for an actual warning, 1 not so much.

A shut up SAM option should be part of the first patch of fixes, I don't know why BioWare intentionally do shit like this. Like the stupid droid in SWTOR, it doesn't shut up when you walk around the ship. Now sure they removed the droids from the ship of anyone who is max level, but max levels don't even go on the ship anymore it's a ghost town. The only time you're on the ship is leveling, and the droid, by gawd, the droid. I apologize for the droid rant, but I hate them, so much. Sammy Boy is even worse though, because it's not just the ship, it's everywhere. And should be an easy problem for them to fix, but I don't see them doing it, BioWare knew full well that SAM would be annoying, he's designed to be annoying. Oh yeah, I totally get you about the droid, buddy, you're not alone.

Yeah and not just that, a focal point in the narrative also always has to be some discovery of remnants of an ancient civilization. We have seen this.. how many times now? Bioware cliches 101. I thought we would be savored from this in MEA since we're travelling to a completely different galaxy, but no, there always have to be remnants of an ancient civilization, in every Bioware game. They were not even trying with the naming this time. Very original, Bioware. Must have been a working title during development, and they have just left it as it is.

Good point. It started to look like a BW "mark" , always making their games follow this "rule" of sorts.

So yeah, the constant "temperature/hazard checks" and "you're in a mining area" is starting to get on my nerves. I'm in Voeld (frozen planet) and SAM shouting every minute about temperature being normal or hazardous is getting annoying to the point I wish I could mute him. I know the stupid temperature! I'm watching it on my screen, I'm not blind goddammit! Why they thought it was a good idea to have an AI thing babysitting you at every step is beyond me. SAM, knock it off with telling me when things are normal!

Ugh, SAM is one of the reasons why I'm so hesitant to replay the game, I just thin I've had enough of Bioware's AI propaganda crusade and it's consequence of constantly being handheld throughout the game.

I still don't understand this Bioware cliche of having your protagonist "permanently" changed by something. It's really not that hard to understand, if you even give it the smallest amount of thought. SAM serves both as a narrator and a guide. Most gamers prefer having someone / something else do this, rather than have the main character utter to him/herself. People also loved EDI.

SAM's function, abilities or importance to the plot has nothing to do with what I'm saying. I'm talking about Bioware's cliches with protagonists. SAM's role in the game could have stayed exactly the same without the "forced connection" with the player. "Disconnecting him might kill you!" Oh please...

Sometimes I wonder how it was tested from user friendly perspective. I can't believe nobody in the team could notice how annoying all this spam and hand-holding gets.

I was annoyed with SAMs shit until I got to Elleeden. I'm not even shitting you right now, for 4 minutes straight Drak just kept going "Ryder Worm" to warn me about the damn thing. He repeated it every two seconds like I hadn't heard him the first 40 fucking times. I eventually had to pull the nomad over and flamethrower Drak right in the face. It obviously didn't do anything, but it felt cathartic.
SAM can knock on my door every morning and preach about the good book of AVP outstanding all he wants, but if I hear Drak say anything about that worm one more god damn time I'm going to drown him in acid.

I don't mind SAM... I just don't need him to remind me everytime I enter a mining zone that there are resources I failed to get because of the bad mining system. Lol.

We have life support bar on left-bottom and flashing warning in the middle of the screen, people who would need vocal reminder on top of that wouldn't be able to start a game due to being a vegetable. Same goes for minerals and it's flashing icon as well. I know there is a rule "design everything the way so even an idiot could understand", but it wasn't meant to be taken literally.
