Just to prove how much of a train nerd I am, as if there was any doubt, here are two pics that prove the point Heljan Layton and Barnstaple Manning Wardle 2-6-2 tank locos 759 Yeo, 760 Exe and 761 Taw in their Southern Railway livery. A quartet of BR Class 04's D2258, 2239, 2294 and 2295. Also of note both groups of locos run on the same gauge track but are different scales.

I had a Finnish visitor you might know in Vienna with me this weekend. Just a bit of behavioural adjustment was needed in terms of our strict toasting culture, other than that, I think vella really has got the right amount of imperial snobism going. Here we are on Wilhelminenberg (a hill for us, a mountain for a Finn) looking over the city.

Visited one of the biggest monasteries in Europe, which happens to be just a 2 hours drive away from my home! This is a historical drawing of the entire complex. Scale is a bit wonky here, the mountain the monastery is built on is MUCH larger. The actual church, which is the building right in the middle of the above painting. Me standing around like a total tool. This is my living room. Nah, not really but I wish it was! Original 14th century book with illustrations. (Super expensive to make back then) OMG historical guns! I was in my element here. Each one of those guns is easily worth 5000 - 15000 bucks. And unexpectedly I stumbled across this stick-your-face-through monk prob. I could not resist. (I'll probably get face cancer now from all the other people touching the prop with their leper heads, but it was worth it.)

I was in Krems and Mautern yesterday to get a scope I bought over the phone, as the deal was done I saw Göttweig on the mountain and I could not resist to go a little sightseeing. (and admittedly my growling belly also played a role here.) Also I love the Wachau, too bad I missed the apricot trees bloom. I was told I missed it by ten days or so.

We visited the Wine tasting fair at Römerhalle Mautern, quite close to bridge over Donau. A lovely place. I will leave Vienna and Austria tomorrow but what a trip ot has been. I feel like something very imperial has awoken inside me because we have seen so many fancy buildings and palaces

Was a beautiful sunny spring day, wasn't it? But I took the ferry to cross the Donau, I like ferries. You really should come back and visit more places, we have plenty of them. If you like fancy baroque things you should check out the Hohe Festung in Salzburg, the Stephansdom or the Kunsthistorische Museum in Vienna. Especially in the latter you can spend 3 days and still find new amazing things.

Nah you've got it all wrong, I'm an Ass-Man! Yeah I know my weird body dimensions are that of an ape. True story, last time somebody told me that I got down and walked on my knees and fists while making gorilla sounds. Apparently it looked quite authentic. But luckily I don't have the face of Ron Pearlman.

Luckily, there's plenty to see around here. I totally agree that next time, Salzburg would be a great thing to see - also, I haven't been there myself for a few years. Btw we already were inside the Römerhalle at 3. I mean, what are the odds!?

Men should wear fancy hats more often imo and men's fashion should go back to 19th /early 20th century.Agreed, I'd gladly wear a suit, tie and waistcoat more often if I didn't think I'd be judged for it.
(Schrodinger's Law on Fashion dictates that I can only ever be scruffy or smart when viewed by an outside observer)
