I think the most difficult, challenging part of this game is getting the controls to work. Player input is awful with weapon switching, shoulder switching, jumping, moving, and aiming. Controller dead zones are terrible and makes aiming jerky and very imprecise. Switching weapons is a chore and half the fight with the Kett (especially since you can only switch two, and if you die and had selected a weapon in the 3rd or 4th weapon slot, you have to do it again every time).
Second to that is the seemingly large amount of bad guys that spawn directly behind you all the time. Can be stuck in a corner you just cleared, only to have 2 Kett machine gun guys kill you from behind. This also makes me think about the extremely narrow field of view that is worse when, after 30 minutes of fighting the controls, can finally get your weapon out. The character takes up too much of the screen.
Here are the other issues I have:
Player checkpoints are ridiculous and not being able to save during missions really sucks. Having to re-input skills, reconfigure weapons and re-do so many areas every time is silly. Need to allow us to save during story missions or have better check points.
Yesterday, twice I got stuck in rooms because the door open option never spawned. I fell through the floor of the Tempest. My characters were walking around at 45 degree angles. I got killed multiple times after turning invisible away from enemies from unknown reasons. Seen Kett shoot at me, but are looking and aiming in the opposite direction. I find myself very often not being able to walk forward after jumping, character looks like he is having a seizure standing up. Will stand up out of cover sometimes for no reason other than to think the game wants me dead. Find myself shooting and dealing no damage, but have enemies shoot through a giant shipping crate and one shot kill me.
How can a game have such difficulty in matchmaking online? Why, in 2017, is there no option to do a quick match with friends? Why is it almost impossible to find two players in custom matches? WHY CAN WE NOT DO MELEE KILLS?
Why did they pick the worst parts of the trilogy (Mako and mining) and add put them into the game?
I have no problem with the facial animations, especially when those seem to be the better part of the game after playing this a few times. But why does almost every character have to take an hour to turn around before they can talk to you? And why do the women in the hibernation station always have a surprised look on their faces?
Notifications. I have missed important e-mails and other story related things because they suck.
Ammo system is horrible. Please go back to enemies dropping those heat sinks. Add health packs or something.
I have never asked this about a game before because I usually find when someone does it is silly, but did this game make it through QA? I have never played a game, in my 33 years, that was so poor in controller response, glitches, and other stupid mess ups that came from such a respectable company. Please, fix the controls, the spawning, and the MP. I just want to be able to press buttons and have my character do those things, and play with friends in quick match. Shooting, running, jumping (regular and over cover) and even getting out and switching weapons is so, so difficult.
EDIT: This is for PS4. And I should mention, I honestly can say I feel this is the biggest disappointment in this console generation, even after Destiny and The Division.

I can't even get past the first mission. My character is stuck trying to jump two giant mushroom things. Four hours trying to get him to jump is not fun and I still haven't managed it. But of course, you can't save during that mission, so I need to start the whole thing again. Who thought that was a good idea? It is so frustrating! Aaagh! Never even touched the game this week. Back to Dragon Age it is.

No issues with the controls during gameplay.
It's the UI that I have a problem with. One of the worst I've seen in any modern triple A game - especially inventory and crafting menus.

Another issue: The Asari Huntress' invisible ability never works. Every time I use it she comes out of cloaking immediately with no movement or being fired upon. I have looked this up and it is a common issue, but some say it does work if the cloaking is done around the host. This remedy has not worked for me.

The game so far has not been very challenging. Two things I'm currently struggling is, not throwing a keyboard out the window in a fit of rage whenever multiplayer crashes to desktop on wave5 without any rewards, and not throwing up when interacting with those creepy asari clones all wearing same ugly round face.

If you're still stuck.. try powering up a melee attack. Mum as got herself stuck a few times and this has worked. It shoots you forward a bit - depending on how stuck you are it might take a couple of tries.

The tutorial mission at the beginning. You are doing something wrong, that's not the game's fault. I don't recall jumping on any mushrooms or there being any difficult jump puzzles on that mission.

I think you're trying to go the wrong way mate, there's definitely no difficult jump sequences in the planetside area (or any of the game that I've found).

There are two mushroom things just before a ledge. Briefly I get a B with an arrow, but I can never time it correctly for the man to jump. I think it's me, not the game. It's just very frustrating though.

See how other people are doing it - I'm sure you'll realize you are making a mistake somewhere.

On PC with keyboard and mouse i found the controls great, the difficulty took me a few mins to get used to (getting instantly melted on insanty was eye opening).

We had to jump between 2 mushrooms? what? I'm mid-game on my second playthrough, & I never had to jump between mushrooms the whole game.. Is this on the planet with lightning on rocks? Habitat 7? where you fell from your shuttle?

There were two mushrooms in front of a ledge, one slightly taller than the other, and you need Ryder to climb up them and then onto the ledge. I watched a Let's Play on YouTube and the person there had his Ryder climb up with no problem, but it didn't show what controls you needed for the climb In my game on console, a B and an up arrow appears very briefly and I assume if I press it when I see it, Ryder will then climb up by himself. I never seem to be able to press the B quickly enough so I am stuck at that part. I can't seem to get the B to appear again no matter what angle I place Ryder in.

I'm still not sure which mushrooms you are talking about, but if you want to jump & then climb the ledge, you need to hold the jump button until the edge of the ledge.. Ryder will automatically climb up then..
