We know there were 7 Habitat planets chosen from the Heleus Cluster in the Andromeda Galaxy. There are 4 known Arks, Asari (Leusinia), Turian (Natanus) and Salarian (Paarchero) with a possibility of another based on the forthcoming Andromeda book title, The Lost Ark.
Starting a new character, we learn Habitat 7 was designated for the human ship the Hyperion.
So are there 2 (or 3) more Arks on the way (DLC?) or were the extra 2 (or 3) Habitat locations just extras in case or the only 7 habitable planets in the Heleus Cluster?
We're missing Quarians, Elcor, Hanar and Volus from the Milky Way.

Aside from the Quarians (rip Tali )... most races aren't very combative imo. Stayed behind to keep the Milky Way safe and reaper free. I do miss the other races immensely, especially the Volus and Elcor. Hanar not so much, no need for religious habbardashery in space! But still a part of the universe I agree. I believe the others are extras in case something goes wrong, which we have proven, most has gone awry. 600 years is a rather long time!

Probably the only thing the AI got right in its set up. This way each ark...minus the Turian one...has more then one place to go.

All your squad members want to either settle on Eos or Kadara imho. They don't like cold or sand. Drack and Vetra being the only exceptions. Oh and PeeBee doesn't like "rocks".. go figure. Think we'll all better off turning Meridian into Citadel 2.Awesome. And then colonise the galaxy.

Also, planets are big. Way more than big enough that one Golden World (assuming they were legit) could very easily hold the entire Initiative, which would total at 120k people counting the Quarian ark. That's not even a real-world small city.

We're missing Quarians, Elcor, Hanar and Volus from the Milky Way. In game we are told about a fifth ark near the beginning that was held back for technical reasons and might take a few years more to arrive. They probably had seven planets because those seven planets were the closest to what would support Milky Way lifeforms, not that they were going for one planet per Ark.

Poor Drells, no one remembered them.
I just figured they identified ones they thought would be good as golden worlds but only assigned them certain ones initially - extras are for expansion/variety or of anything went wrong.

The drells are basically almost extinct as is. I don't see them having an Ark.

There are spoilers you missed or haven't seen yet.
For now this should fill in holes.
You will set out and arrive on the FIRST WAVE of arks.
A worker was killed today his name has not been released until NEXT OF KIN IN THE MILKY WAY have been notified.
(We tried to make contact but)...there has so far been NO RESPONSE FROM THE MILKY WAY BEACONS.
Its easy to assume there was a much bigger project in the works (without getting spoilery) one that involves waiting for new Arks that are leaving shortly after the first wave. Or leaving once contact was made from Andromeda, a green light, so to speak.

Very ambitious of them to assume that the Initiative would still exist in any recognizable form. Or does the space opera cliche kick in and assume that organizations exist for centuries or even millenia? So are the volus supposed to wear suits on these new planets, or is 'golden world' a relative term? Did they find a high-gravity world for the elcor? Will a planet need to be prepared for dextro-life forms like turians and quarians, or will they muddle along on levo-worlds with imported rations?

It's mentioned ingame that they have seed banks from the milky way (one mission involves one of the races seed banks). I'm guessing the turians/quarians have their own - plus they already show terrarium things to grow stuff in, as a quicker option to set up before gardens. (+ the working hydroponics on the Nexus) Quarians at least would be used to that kind of set up.

Finish the game people. The Quarians are coming. So are many of the other species on the same ark.
I'm really excited for the Quarians. Always been my favourite species in all of Mass Effect. I would highly recommend not clicking that if you don't like spoilers.
