I like some of the music in MEA, but I think it's a shame that they seem to have completely left out music from MET. There is some music during planet exploration which is either the same as, or closely resembles, music from ME1, but most of it is different. I would have loved to hear some of the earlier music used. Of course, I know that if they did that the critics would have panned them for it, but so what? Some of that earlier music was great. At the very least, it would have been nice to be able to play it from your personal sound system in your Tempest cabin.

The music in ME:A is by no means bad but I am still disappointed.
I didn't want or expect them to bring back the old themes. Moving on is fine. But I do miss any themes that stand out like the Spectre Theme, Suicide Mission, A Future For The Krogan, Vigil or End Of An Era. I was expecting them to come out with new ones on that level.
Just compare the introduction of the Tempest to the introduction of the Normandy SR2 in ME2 and you'll immediately see (or rather hear) the difference the music makes. It's what makes the latter a scene I will never forget while the former just ... happened, I guess.
The MET had such great music that I noticed. Here it's just in the background. Definitely a step back (though going from absolutely stunning quality to good quality). Definitely hope they go back to distinct and and memorable great music in future ME games. It's important.

Guys music in this game is very, very good. It's one of the few things about MEA that deserve big kudos, together with the sound and environmental design. John Paesano did a great job as a torch bearer for the ground-breaking music of previous MEs, especially ME1. I've even listened to the game soundtrack - twice - which I had done only once before, with Skyrim.

It's very subdued - I almost wonder whether it's sometimes not playing when it's supposed to.

The music is decent. It being his first video game score its actually quite impressive. Still as others have mentioned it can't match the trilogy, yet! We'll see in two games where its at then.

Thing is, the music in the trilogy was ridiculously good (in all three of them), to the point where it's definitely my favorite video game score and possiblly even takes top spot across all media. ME:A doesn't reach that level IMO and since it is another ME game, I was kinda hoping it would.

It wasn't bad but it's definitely dissappointing. Nothing like the music of the MET.No memorable motifs and tunes apart from the main theme and the menu theme.Even the galaxy map theme is like discount watered down versin of the MET galaxy theme.

Intentionally not having music during exploration of hubs, the ship, and some planets, was really dumb. Music helps emphasize and breath life into scenes and settings.

They made the same mistake with Inquisition, and i am not sure why. It has always been a thing in Bioware games and then they just remove it. Trespasser had some good tunes going throughout though, lets hope they fix it for Andromeda DLC.

There are themes on the trilogy that should be used in future games. Should have been used on andromeda

Music in the Bars in Mass effect Andromeda makes me laugh and cringe. (so bad so bad) Makes me feel how i go to nightclubs in real life. Wonder how Morinth would describe the Bars in Mass Effect Andromeda. Definitely not "dark rhythms and pulses". So in a weird way i just laugh everytime i walk into a bar.

Music is one of the weak areas of the game, IMO.
Bioware went with the Inquisition approach of having music being mostly absent (why?!), and the tracks that are there aren't really that memorable. If they make more Mass Effect games I hope they bring Sam Hullick back, and I also hope this is the last game where ambient sound effects in the open world are prioritized over ambient music.

There is actually a lack of music in several parts of the game. And the same music seems to be all around, this one from the start screen:
It keeps player over and over in almost every scene and loading it's so boring. No that it's a bad music per se, but the game needs more planning on music. I mean, which music plays here and there, how this music should be or not. I feel like the music in andromeda is only a filler, not something that transform gameplay into an emotional thing.

Not including music in the game was a mistake. I think it gave the MET an epic feel that is missing here.

I like the music. But other than the main menu theme and the galaxy map, not sure I can easily recall it to hum under my breath like I can so many themes in the OT.
I miss Sam Hulick. I also worry about the fact that they have a big-budget Hollywood composer now, because if this goes into a trilogy, we'll probably be changing composers every single game and won't have any musical consistency at all.

The problem is not the quality of music. The problem is when you hear it (or rather, when you don't). There have been many intense situations where music is completely missing, like running away from a plume of smoke from a collapsing Remnant vault, or entering a night club, etc. The lack of music during key moments of the game--especially during some important boss fights---really detract from the immersive experience.
H-047c is the only exception so far. This planet has a truly memorable soundtrack. And whichever dev team was put in charge of this planet should all be promoted and put in leadership positions.

The music is pretty good, though there isn't that distinguishable tune that really sticks out, like the MET.
That might be a symptom of this being one game, instead of a fleshed out 3 game series.
