Agreed. Day-Night cycle and a photo-mode (I'm on Xbox so no NVIDIA Ansel for me) would be amazing.

They DID say there would be day/night cycle and dynamic weather. That's what the pre-alpha footage was all about.

Oh there is a day night cycle... its just based on real time and on the day length of the planet. Unfortunately for us the planets we visit have day length equal to a few days Earth time... so we will never see the day-night cycle unless we stay on a planet for several days.
Seriously though... I would have loved it. Its one thing I miss when I come from a game that has it. I can spend hours looking at sunsets lol

I don't recall Bioware promising that. And I didn't expect it because I knew the game was going to be DAI in space.
They didn't even have time to replace those placeholder Paint eyes or those placeholder Asari faces. Fix critical mission bugs or get MP stable.
But even if they had time to polish MEA, Bioware has always had a good-enough-attitude about the technical side of their games. The gameplay has always been very mediocre and clunky. Day/night cycle would have required extra effort and understanding what's awesome about open world. And they obviously don't understand open world. Everything about their open worlds is static and dead. And the locked weather/time of day is part of that problem.
But heeeeey, they put effort into the sex scenes. Priorities!

I wish there was a day night cycle and dynamic weather. Could you imagine a sandstorm on Eos? or light snow on Voeld! I would love that.

Yes, I really liked that in BF1 and can hope they implement something like that.

Yeah I would have loved a day/night cycle myself, but then I would have loved all sorts of other things, like if there was a sandstorm on Eos, it would also be an environmental hazard, much like the radiation storms in Fallout 4. We'd have NPC's that are unavailable at certain times. Heck, it would have been a dream to sit inside the Tempest while it was parked and watch the sandstorm, similarly to seeing the perpetual storm on LV246.

On the old BSN i mentioned something similiar. Like how cool it'd be to have a day night cyle, but even more have a day night cyle that'd varies by planet(longer, shorter etc) combined with varying different levels of gravity & dynamic various weather conditions(as would be the case in real life). It would really help to differeniate the planets and add a whole new layer to things. But alas i guess they werent willing to go to such attention to detail.

This ^ There's a reason my skyrim mods make storms look amazing and overpowering. Then I'm forced to find shelter and make a fire. Immersion elements like that are so nice.

They DID say there would be day/night cycle and dynamic weather. That's what the pre-alpha footage was all about. I do remember that, yea. There was the thing Elaaden having heat dangers in the day and cold in the night, or something... apparently another thing that got cut.
