Yeah I got this awful glitch with shaky cam. I'd wait for the first few bug patches. It'll be cheaper than too considering metacritic is in a freefall.

No, positively no. Its sub par, not worth the money as things stand currently. I'd wait for a significant price drop before buying if i was you OP.

As you can see from the diversity of comments above, you're not likely to be able to tell whether you will like it based on other people's comments.
I'd recommend you splash out for a month's Origin membership and get the trial. I know people say the game improves after the trial ends (and that is true, I believe), but I think that if you don't like it after 10 hours, you're probably not going to like it.

Not at full price. If you can find a copy on sale or used, go for it.

Yeah I got this awful glitch with shaky cam. I'd wait for the first few bug patches. It'll be cheaper than too considering metacritic is in a freefall. Metacritic player reviews started at 3.6 and have risen to 4.6 in the first week as the hate group who trolled it on day one lost ground to people who did play it. And if you go onto the xbox one store where people who bought it review it, last I looked it had 4.3 out of 5. The reviews for the PC and Xbox One were solid between 75 and 77. Only the PS4 lost any real ground and it went from 76 to 73 based on critic reviews. The PS4 tends to include blogs which tend to pander to the loudest group in order to gain followers. Ironically while the PS4 dropped a bit based on critic reviews, players reviews have ticked up slowly. So they are in no way in free fall by any definition. But the game will go on sale eventually, and if a person is willing to wait I would wait for the package that will likely come out in a couple months and include the first DLC.

Depends.
If you are annoyed by mediocre/poor facial animations, a bit too many bugs, poor CC, lack of saving features, a bit too many fetch-quests (that thankfully don't cancel out the plethora of better ones unlike Inquisition) and poor UI on PC, I'd probably wait for a sale or a patch in the hopes that these issues are smoothed out.
If the above doesn't bother you too much and you want a game that (IMO) keeps the feel of Mass Effect intact, has great gameplay, pretty decent writing and world building all things considered, tons of stuff to do, and some great graphics apart from the facial animations, this might be up your alley.
I don't regret my purchase, but I also cannot deny that this game has issues that might turn off people with different priorities than mine. So informing yourself is a good idea before buying. The EA Access trial is a decent starting point, albeit it cuts off at one of the game's best moments. Might wanna take a look at it, still.

If you can get it for sub-$50, yes. Otherwise, wait for a sale. I say this as someone who's enjoyed my time with it.

I would say that the game is certainly enjoyable as it stands today, but if you still haven't bought it I would rather suggest to wait and get it after the next patch because you will get the better experience from the start.

I also suspect that there are folks like me who positively enjoys the game, but don't have accounts to review and rate the game. But I think it's a moot point altogether, because somewhere mid thread the OP said it does not really capture his/hers imagination like other three games, so there is really no need to keep on with it.

You can also check out various youtubers who've properly given their thoughts/reviews on the game. I recommend JV2017gameplay, Minius GC or MassEffectFollower.

Depends. If you're a fan of the Mass Effect universe then I think it's a given and a good choice. If not, I'd wait for a sale. Either way, if you're uncertain, buy it with an option to return it. That way, if you're unhappy with it, you can get your cash back.
Most importantly, make up your own mind about it's worth to you.

I'll tell you the same thing I told my best friend. I can't in good conscience tell you to go out and buy this game at full price in its current state.
I would wait until some patches are out. You may get lucky and not experience many bugs or technical issues that take away from your enjoyment of the game. I wasn't that lucky.

Simple. If you want a trademark Bioware game that concentrates on story, consequence and immersion then NO. If you want a open world shooter with a few cut scenes thrown in, then YES.

Watch the review by TB first. For me personally, I would say yes. The beginning starts off slow, but it picks up. Hell, I just made a hard choice that I have to go back and reload and change it. I have never felt this before in the OT because everything was black and white. Here is the land of grey where I actually feel something.

EA Access isn't representative of the whole game though. Sure you can see some of the shoddy writing, but the Single Player portion conveniently ends before the game starts to shower you with the boring shit you have to slog through. Have to say, this is very accurate.

Have to say, this is very accurate. This is true for me also. I hate to say it but it looks like I am going to have to force myself to finish this game as I did with Inquisition. It is taking some will-power to boot it up and carry on, for boredom quickly sets in.

People "forcing" themselves to "finish" games. Ugh, where are we in this world today. SMH. Worth my 90 bucks, and I'd do it again 50 times over. Don't like it, go away. Please. Not coming back to this one. Out. This forum is like every other one. Full of personal preferences and demands. Find a friend who has it, watch it, try it. Don't know what to do? Stay away. Probably not for you. Asking other people what to do with your own free will is pretty sad. No matter how you cut it. Please Bioware, ignore all the whining. Thx. Love your game

Personally like the game, but I'm glad I didn't pay full-price.

Lot of bias in your post. User review score has stalled at 4.6 - it's been there for a week now, not getting any higher. Xbox and PC are getting reviews from no-name review sites and foreign review sites, compared to your gamespots, igns, giant bombs, etc for PS4 - as that is the most popular platform by far. The more reviews, the more accurate the metacritic score. Wait for a sale, should be soon as the game is in freefall.

I would wait for a sale if I were you.
I'm having a blast, but I didn't recommend it to a friend of mine. I also told him to get it cheap, when it's on sale. It's a hit or miss kind of game. You love it or you hate it. You could also wait for the 4th of April for the announcement. That's the only recommendation I have.

Just clarifying the original comment - I don't find the main quest, or a handful of side loyalty missions, to be that bad. Some of them are even pretty good. But the game "showering you with boring shit" simply refers to all the side quest bloat that the game chucks in your direction which is tedious, and feels more like a chore than you actually playing the game.

It ticked up the other day, and it hit 4.6 after a couple days after coming up from 4.2, despite a certain group of individuals posting repeated negative posts under clearly single use profiles. IT then went on to top of the UK charts which even Dragon Age Inquisition didn't manage to do and it became one of the top selling games Bioware had done. And plenty of big name reviewers gave it tremendous reviews. IGN was still 77, gamespot was for a long time (until blogs started getting added) the absolute lowest score at 60. PC gamer hardly a "no-name" site gave it 80. Forbes gave it 85. GameInformer 80. Playstation Universe 80. Even Gamespot gave it 60 a full 20 points higher than gamebomb. Given they have topped the Uk charts I have no doubt this game will still sell well. EA will more than make its money back. they will deliver 2-3 DLC and then move to the next one. Just like with ME3 I expect as technical issues are addressed and the stupidity dies down as these groups find a new game to hate on the scores will tick up.
