Hi people!
Resident Evil is a franchise that i care a lot about, Even if 5 or 6 aren't survival horror games, they are solid games. Recently they did Revelations 2 which was a good game that looked like Resident Evil and now RE7 is on it's way and i'm excited with this new direction in the series.
What are your favorite games of this franchise?
Do you like the movies?
Talk anything you want about it and have fun!

Hello! Fellow RE fan, and RE is the reason I play games I used to watch my brother play all the time back when I was younger, but one time he refused to play RE3 for me and said I should play it myself if I want to see it. Beginning of the end, since then I'm addicted to videogames... Anyways! I played the shit out of RE2, and it's one of the games where I have fond memories, but I think my favourite RE is Code Veronica. I loved 4 as well on the Wii because the Remote was just major fun for aiming, but 5 was only mediocre for me. I have yet to play Revelations and RE6, but liked Leon's part in the demo. RE7, I don't know. I hear they want to return to their roots, which is all good, but it's 1st person, and I don't like playing this. It's fine for exploration games, but with combat involved it's not my thing. I also wasn't very impressed with the E3 presentation because it looked nothing like RE to me, but a copy of the Silent Hills/PT demo earlier... until I read that the actualy game will look different. I'm curious now about the game, but I likely only watch a playthrough or make my brother play it for me Oh, and I really didn't like the movies, I didn't even watch them all, haha.

Good idea Well I do like RE5 and 6 because they have a coop mode : I'm just a coward when it comes to survival horror games, so I like to play with someone else ^^; Also when your friend play in a totally different style than yours (shotgun for my friend, sniper riffle for me), it's so fun But I've tried to replay RE5 few days ago and man, it's just impossible. I even forgot that you couldn't walk and shoot in the same time >_>; it was a major improvement on RE6. For RE7, I'm disappointed : there's no coop mode / it's a first person / and the VR. No thank you :/

Resident Evil 2 is my favourite.
I just picked up Bio Hazard for the Saturn which has a slightly different opening video from the North American version which is interesting.

Six was the biggest piece of shit I have seen since Dead Aim.
._. I honestly think they should just kill the franchise because its obvious its just going to keep getting worse.

The first time I played Resident evil 2, I played non-stop for over two days before, more or less, collapsing in exhaustion (with images of zombies dancing in my head.)
Same thing happened again with 4.
5 and 6 both disappointed me. Once I got over the my initial problems with 6, I will say that it had some decent replay value (even if the initial experience was underwhelming.)
I'm disappointed about the direction with 7 going first-person. I think I understand how it happened. I'm pretty sure it was inspired by a playable demo for a cancelled Guillormo del Toro project. The buzz around it was so big, someone wanted to make something to capitalize as soon as possible.
Which doesn't mean it couldn't be really good, and certainly I hope it is, but Resident Evil is a third person survival horror for me, so the shift... may not take me with it. We'll see.
I liked RE revelations 2 more than I expected to. I would have preferred RE 7 built on the innovations in that game. I'm not sure how spoilers work, so I won't use any to be safe, but anyone who played knows that both endings still lead to a scenario where one of the characters would make a very compelling protagonist for a full game with all kinds of potential weirdness and plot twists. I do find myself hoping that the change of direction with 7 doesn't leave that as a wasted opportunity.

Yeah, the original RE was one of my favorite series back in the day...and I was big into the survival horror genre in general (also really loved the Silent Hill series).
Of the older games, I think I played Code Veronica the most... I did like the newer Revelations and Revelations 2.
I didn't so much like the shift away from survival horror, and kind of lost interest in later titles...but at the same time, I understand because the genre at that time was becoming a bit...stale, predictable? I'm looking forward to check RE7 out. Not sure what to make of it yet.

A lot of people say that 5 and 6 are horrible and i disagree, but they absolutly are action games. The developers said that RE7 was in development before PT was shown and they were really surprised with Silent Hill in first person. At first i was pissed but with time i liked the idea and now i'm pretty excited. (the chopper picture with Umbrella logo warmed my heart) And i think that RE7 does have a connection with Revelations 2

I would die if at the end of the demo Leon showed up and said "Time do to some work" and the screen fades to black. I really dig the new protagonist not being a super soldier like Leon or Claire, They are Jedi's at this point and the game wouldn't feel scary when we already saw Leon suplexing monsters, but it would be awesome to see them in the game (And i think we will se familiar faces)

VR is maybe optional but first person isn't ;_;

Could someone help me? You definitely don't need to worry about spamming in here! There isn't a "Multi-quote" function that I've found. There may be something buried in the settings that can be added, but I'm not sure. To do it manually, which is really only practical for a few quotes at a time, you can make sure your cursor located where you would like the quote to go, then use the sidebars in your browser to navigate back up and click the "quote" button for the post you're looking for. You can continue to position your cursor and add quotes to the same post, but obviously it requires manually using the sliders and careful cursor placement each time. Optionally, you can just continue to press "quote" several times over several posts, and they should all line up in a row your editing field. From there you can use the mouse to navigate and answer each quote separately by aiming your text between them. It's inelegant, but for putting 2 or 3 quotes into one post, it works fine (except you can only do it for quotes that are all on the same page - switching pages will wipe out any text in your post reply field.)

But they weren't terribly hard to figure out. Being straight up action helped. But yeah, part of what made survival horror great was that sense of danger from being alone, or having a protagonist that was a little more vulnerable somehow, having limited weapons and ammo, etc. Although Leon was pretty badass, loved him.
