So the Benefactor is Barry Ryder, Scott and Sara's wayward (but very rich) uncle? Perhaps in a transcendent sense, I would say. It's a guess. I would not say Ryder has an unknown uncle on father's side, too. The arc Hyperion is the product of Jien Garson and Alec Ryder, who is has connection to both and is the 'uncle' of the Arc Hyperion?

So I came across a datapad in the Exaltation facility on Veold.
DISPATCH TO KETT BASE
"Benefactor,
I hear that you're haveing good success on (Imprecise; ALT: "??", "EOS") My transfer to this place was a good iea; ther'e so much to learn. I'm grateful you suggested it. Lets meet again. Perhaps you would be interested to see my homeworld, like you once showed me yours."
This one I found very interesting because it suggests the Benefactor has found a way to influence and work with the Kett. Totally shocked when I found this on my 2nd playthrough.
Thoughts? I was wondering if someone mentioned it on the forum already, I'm replaying the game now and last night I rescued Moshae Sjefa from the Kett facility. This is where I read this message and now I'm wondering if this is just some benefactor or THIS Benefactor? I'm also intrigued by the fragment about showing the mail writer's world to the Benefactor and vice versa. If it's the Benefactor, when did they see the mentioned world, 600 years earlier? Are they still alive? So many questions! And I really hope it's not the Illusive Man...If the benefactor has bern made Kett or if the writer was angaran its possible they simply shared their memories. Or they are Asari.

Yeah I'm fairly certain its not the same benefactor. Edit: In fact i think this particular benefactor could be the boss battle guy in the Kett base on Eos. Due to the way the Kett reproduce i'm thinking that an Angaran was exalted by this guy so the Angaran sees him as their benefactor. Just an idea though. Agreed. This seems to be a kett to kett communication. It sounds like a kett has been transferred to the Exaltation facility for further training/indoctrination. Maybe a "Cardinal in training" wrote the message to his or her benefactor? The kett are part of a military expedition from distant stars. The benefactor mentioned could be a superior who has served to aid the writer's rise. Alternatively, and more likely, is the idea that the benefactor exalted the writer, or "led him/her to the enlightenment" of the kett. Both could be true. Yeah I'm fairly certain its not the same benefactor. Edit: In fact i think this particular benefactor could be the boss battle guy in the Kett base on Eos. Nope, showing your homeworld doesn't make sense if it's not the Benefactor from the initiative. How does it not? Read above, and tell me that isn't plausible. If anyone is reaching, it's those trying to force a connection. Either might be true, ultimately; but you might be too fixated upon this idea to see equally likely, or more likely, options. Secondly, how could anyone from the Milky Way have shown the kett his or her homeworld? This could be done via data, I guess, but that's not so convincing that the benefactors must be the infamous benefactor of the AI.

Secondly, how could anyone from the Milky Way have shown the kett his or her homeworld? As zipzap2000 said earlier, asari can do that? We know salarians collaborated with kett without (all of them) becoming kett, so it could be possible for someone else too.

Bioware would not use this very specific term twice, especially when it places hints like this throughout. What if the Benefactor is an Asari? They could show their homeworld through other means. Using Benfactor to describe another Kett seems beyond odd in the context of the game and far more likely to refer to the individual associated with the Initiative.

I think you're holding Bioware to too high a standard if you think they wouldn't do that just because it would be confusing within the context of the story. I understand the logic as to why they maybe shouldn't have done it but their writers are hardly infallible. And of course I could give them more credit and suggest that it's simply a red herring - as I've already done.

Interesting. The message was sent to the Kett Base but directed to the Benefactor? I can't help but wonder if the Kett and the Benefactor were in touch prior to the AI launching. After all, it seems like the Kett saw the homeworld of whatever race the Benefactor comes from, which seems to be someplace in the Milky Way. Moreover, the Benefactor also saw the Kett homeworld. Given all the unexplored territory away from mass effect relays, could it be possible that the Kett originated in the Milky Way? Maybe they simply left before the AI. Or the Benefactor is a geth. *See bolded* Concidering that I've found many crashed Kett Ships while scanning, which use Quarian Nav systems, I'm inclined to believe this. Unless someone has a better explanation for how those monstrosities got a hold of them?

There are data pads and audio logs on the Archon's flag ship that indicate very strongly that the kett are not from the Milky Way based on their interrogation of the salarian captives and their reaction to the arrival of the Milky Way species. If the kett species does originate from the Milky Way - say refugees from a previous Reaper cycle - then the modern kett aren't aware of it.

There is also that crashed escape pod that was in possession of the Kett that SAM couldn't identify from which ship.....

There's plenty of backstory that's still a mystery, so it could be meaningful - on the other hand it could just as easily be a benefactor rather than the benefactor. I severely doubt The Secret Benefactor would use that name in Andromeda. He/she wants to cover tracks, no way he/she would same alias once reached Andromeda.

There's a supply crate near a small pile of wreckage and equipment about half a klick away from that cave that SAM also identifies as being from the Paarchero. Probably where the pod came down.
