Place to post your favourite drinks! Share ideas, give suggestions, the whole nine yards. *** I myself love craft beers. (Probably more than I should. ) Witbeirs, heferweizens, lambics, and most recently, sours. I'm not into IPA's although those seem to be the most numerous around here. (West Coast Canada) I've tried good ones and just, nope. Not for me. I don't like much with an IBU(Int'l Bitterness Unit) over 30ish. I also can get into darker beers; stouts, porters, nut-browns, and good reds. "Driftwood" and "Fuggles and Warlock" breweries are my current favourites. F&W has a japanese named series of dry hopped fruit sours that I love. Hikari, Rei, and Yami to name a few. Driftwood has a consistently in stock main-staple of mine called Whitebark that I am currently enjoying as I write this. Literally never tasted anything like it. It's an unfiltered witbeir. Amazing, I highly recommend it. Driftwood has more beers than I can list that I love as well as the best bomber label designs I've ever seen. A group out of Vancouver called "Hired Guns" does it I believe. My most recent find in the darker end is a fantastic porter from TWA Dogs here in Victoria, B.C. called Holy Willie's Robust Porter. Used to have a second level Cicerone working at my local beer store, very knowledgeable and friendly guy. Moved on but learned a bit. (Learned from him what a cicerone was in the first place lol.) Scottish import Innis and Gunn does wonderful things. I'll usually buy anything new they come out with. I over did them some years ago though and am trying a lot more of the local flavours here. Pacific Northwest has a massive amount of microbreweries to try. Also, I believe british import, Youngs Double Chocolate Stout is great. (One I overdid some years ago again though.) *** On the wine end I know considerably less. I love a dry white, and a good riesling. That's about the extent of my knowledge though. *** Whiskywise I'm starting to learn a bit more but I put a lot of my liquor purchases into bombers. *** Went on a port kick about 7 years ago. Taylor Fladgate's 20 yr old was exceptional, but usually out of my typical price range. Had a homemade cherry-chocolate port that was outstanding as well.

Once every couple of years I'll pick up a bottle of Bailey's for my coffee or poured over ice, or I'll pick up a 4 pack of Smirnoff Ice. Other than that, I don't drink, I'm just not into the taste.

I love the taste of alcoholic options. Not a huge fan of getting shit-faced anymore. Hangovers past 30 suck, and frankly just don't like the feeling. Buzzed though, that's fun. There's a plateau, easy to slip over, but fun to walk the line. My girl found a new(for her) beverage that she loves, warm Amarula, neat. Very yummy, I can't handle too much of it, it's quite creamy and what I describe as "cloying", but in sips/small doses it's great. Has an incredibly distinct flavour. Similar to Baileys and also goes well with coffee as we found out. She has a list(literally) of food allergies, hazelnuts/almonds amongst those. Limits her options significantly.

A slight tipsy can be nice, 1 or 2 shots of Bailey's or 2 bottles of Smirnoff Ice, (anymore than that and it begins to upset my stomach) I have tried Amarula before, it was ok but Bailey's is my 'go to' drink.

Since you have an apricot ale, have you tried Aprihop? Good spring beer, but pricey. Right now I have some Dirt Wolf Double IPA, usually can't go wrong with a Victory

I will be called a Heretic but I do not like dark beers, dark ales and stouts.
I prefer light coloured beer.
I make wine as a hobby both from kits and from scratch.
I made some beer from a kit last year for the 1st time and it was quite acceptable. will do so this summer again.

I love a good cocktail. I had a spring BBQ this past weekend and made some Spiked Ice Tea. It was hit! For your pitcher: 1 Gallon black tea brewed 1 Orange (peeled and sliced) 1 Lemon(peeled and sliced) 5 Cups spiced rum 1 Cup lemon juice Orange & Lemon rounds to float in cocktail Ice Stir & pour!

My go-to is a G and T (Gin and Tonic for the uninitiated) on the strong side and made with Beefeater Gin.
I won't turn down a good shot of Black Velvet whiskey every now and again either.

If you like a nice red Cabernet wine, I recommend the...
Francis Coppola Claret, about $15 USD.
I buy it at local wine stores, and have found it in the grocery sections of major chain stores too. I found it a year ago and have stayed with it. It does NOT have the strong cherry flavor found in most cabs, and has a full, satisfying, long-lasting flavor. And the price is right; I'd never spend more than this. I've given it as a gift to friends, and they have enjoyed it too. HTH

Having this as I type. If you like summer fruit beers it's worth a shot. Strawberry punch to the face. Not much rhubarb though, just a hint near the finish. Not as sweet as some other strawberry beers I've had thankfully. (Still pretty sweet for a beer though.)
