I want to thank Bioware and all the devs for giving us this great universe.
That being said I'd like to express my opinion that the Codex in Andromeda pulls people out of immersion.
Exhibit A: When I first arrived on Eos and visited a few Remnant structures I noticed the Codex had descriptions for robotic units I hadn't encountered yet and mentioned some character named Peebee (I would later find the Remnant and Peebee).
Exhibit B: When I landed on Aya and met the Angara I was not allowed out of their space port to explore their home world. Somehow the Codex had the history of the Angara and complete dossiers on characters I hadn't met yet (or just BRIEFLY MET; hadn't had long conversations with yet). I realize we have a super smart AI onboard (that can update the Codex extremely fast) but it would be UNETHICAL for SAM to gather so much personal data on individuals when we JUST (seconds ago) made FIRST CONTACT with their race/planet.
A bit of a pet peeve but also as soon as I got back on the Tempest after first landing on Aya the updated codex made mention of The Angara aboard the Nexus as if they were part of the day to day operations there (I forget which entry). I was a bit confused by this as I was under the impression I had just made first contact.
Thanks for reading and thanks again for the game. Love the game!

I know what you mean. I had an email from a crew member about a squadmate I hadn't even met yet. A little weird but these little bugs definitley haven't stopped me from enjoying the game. It may not be perfect but I'm really loving it so far.

I'm wondering if that's just a bug, I hope it is as it's bad if that's an intentional game implementation. I've never noticed as I planned on reading the codex in my second play through (the one I intend to 100%).

Then theres the lady complaining about all the Angara on the Nexus before there were any and the odd datapad. Weird how it seems to do this I wonder how it happened.

Game is full of these little spoiling bits. The name "Kett" was the first thing I noticed. Right after Habitat 7 (where Kett where "unknowns"), and landing on Eos, someone on my squad said something about the Kett. I was like "wat is a kett?".
Also, on Eos, firt time encountering an Architect, Cora screams "Watch out, an Architect!". Well she seems creative, coining that term at first sight.

Yeah. That shit is everywhere. I was talking to someone on the ship when someone made a comment about Drax being on board. I haven't even met Drax at that point >_>

The rachni on Noveria show as rachni even before Shepard finds out that they're rachni. ME:A's worse since the squadmates talk about it, though.

Codex in this game is a mess - it reveals things / events before you ever encounter or hear of them in the game, I have stopped looking at the Codex entirely after being spoiled on an event for the third time - I will just read them all after the game is over.
Also, as another user said.. in game email is a goddamn mess too.. revealing people / things before they actually occurred in my game and leaving me utterly baffled as to what the hell they were talking about.. only to finally encounter it a few hours later in game... apparently my crew is Clairvoyant :/

I read the Codex after I finished the game, if I feel like it. I treat it the same way I treat my email inbox, mark all as read. Don't want spoilers? Don't peak!
Also SAM is basically a permanent, super evolved cheat-sheet. Why scanning is a huge deal.
I've never had a problem with ME's codex since Completionist in ME1. It's there for a read after, read your quest log if you don't want to "know everything".
Spoilers lol... 2017, internet.... welcome to land of spoilers.

I've never noticed as I planned on reading the codex in my second play through (the one I intend to 100%). It technically is a bug, since it's caused by falsely set flags... I just hope BW sees it the same way, or we'll have to life with it.

I defeated Havarl's Architet first. "Watch out, an Architect!" Then I went to Eos and Ryder said "What the hell is that?"

I play the games differently, and to me the Codex was fascinating, especially as it had VO in ME1. I continued to enjoy it in 2&3. YMMV, but to hell with telling us your way of playing the game is the right one. Get a grip.

Black holes people, affecting everyone's perception of time.
Even the codex gets messed up.

The scene of the First Contact with the Angara, from the trap to when you are back in the Tempest, is one of the lowest points in the series. The codex helps this, I was dismayed by how trivial was the information dump.
