It should have been the Harrier instead.

Sandstorm is such a sad sad weapon. If i have to fight on a gold mission i will probably try the Avenger first, then a rock and if that dont work i will try using the create that the SandStorm came in before i use the gun itself

Seems like a valid comparison.

I thought the L89 halberd was supposed to be the equivalent to the Harrier (since the Harrier didnt come until ME3 and they wouldnt have it here in Andromeda). in ME3 MP, the harrier was my go to assault rifle for many of my kits, so I was eagerly waiting for an L89. BW needs to just say "OOOPS, we meant it to be equivalent to the Harrier" and fix it.

Hoping for L89 Halberd to be an equivalent of the harrier is like asking for the M-55 Argus to have full auto and have decent range. All three of these weapons are modified versions of the M-96 Mattock ironically. Also I don't quite understand your reasoning for thinking the halberd was suppose to be an equivalent of the Harrier; I suppose since we knew so little about it(other than it was an assault rifle for the time) there was room for possibility. Personally I prefer if they made the Halberd an equivalent of the original mattock from ME2 rather than have another mattock variation be like the harrier. The Halberd is rare, there is a much better uncommon alternative if your looking for a full auto "assault rifle", the Raptor.

For those comparing things to the Saber, do you remember the Saber at ME3's launch? Heavy AF with little damage potential, probably the only gun more thoroughly buffed was the Eagle... or the Hurricane, whatever.

I've got no problem with having a gold version of the Mattock. Mine's at II at the moment, can't wait to try it at X.

The only thing that doesn't make sense is that why would the Initiative copy a mediocre weapon just to make it slightly less mediocre. A direct adaptation of Harrier can be a little farfetched considering it is a secret Cerberus project but shouldn't the AI at least attempt perhaps a lower firing rate automatic version?

ME2 Mattock wasn't mediocre. I love the feel of the Mattock. Harrier felt like a pea shooter but did great damage. I doubt anybody misses that gun, they just miss the damage. Lancer felt and sounded beefy as well but it had the damage to match. I'd love having that back.

Mattock was very good in ME2 becuz it in fact had the highest damage per shot outta the 6 AR we had access and you could always tap-fire it fast enough. I couldn't believe the AR variation was so tiny in ME2 after having drowned in the total of 19 different AR in ME3. But then again the balance of gameplay was never the same.

There were a lot of crap but still lots of great guns in ME3 but only about the same number of guns in each type that you'd use consistently in gold and above as in ME2. It's worse in ME:A in that there are even more guns, many barely indistinguishable and seemingly fewer than ever before that can be used reliably to get a decent score on gold. Some of the silvers like the Disciple, cyclone, etc. are okay on gold if you use the Asari Adept or Turian Soldier.
